CONCEALED STRUCTURAL CONNECTOR
A concealed connector for connecting a first structural component to a second structural component includes a connection portion and a connection plate. The connection portion attaches to the second structural component. The connection plate attaches to the first structural component. The connection plate is coupled to the connection portion and extends into a slot in the first structural component. The connection plate has a perforated region that is penetrated by at least one fastener to attach the connection plate to the first structural component. The perforated region is deformed by the at least one fastener to permit the at least one fastener to penetrate the perforated region of the connection plate.
Method and device for minimally invasive construction of additional level on a building
In several embodiments, the disclosed process may include installing one or more householder devices onto load-bearing structures of a building, installing one or more perimeter beams onto the one or more householders, installing a new exterior assembly onto the one or more perimeter beams, removing an existing roof, and constructing an additional level on the building. In at least one embodiment, installing the one or more householders onto the load-bearing structure may include cutting a hole in the existing roof above the load-bearing structure, attaching the householder onto the load-bearing structure, and sealing the hole around the householder. In some embodiments, the new exterior assembly may be partially or fully constructed on site and may be installed onto the one or more perimeter beams. In some embodiments, once the new exterior assembly is installed, the old roof may be removed from underneath the new exterior assembly.
Joist installation assisting device
A joist installation assisting device to assist with the installation of a joist on a ledger board or similar device. The joist installation assisting device being constructed of a durable material and being generally u-shaped, such that a pocket is formed for placement of a joist hanger, and then a joist therein. The joist installation assisting device further comprising an upwardly projected point for the quick accurate placement of the device upon the ledger board. The joist installation assisting device having a plurality of openings therethrough for attachment and detachment to the ledger board by anchoring devices. An adjustment mechanism member being positioned in a vertical y-dimensional axis to contact with the lower portion of the joist to allow for precise positioning in the y-dimensional axis prior to securing and installation of said joist.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MINIMALLY INVASIVE CONSTRUCTION OF ADDITIONAL LEVEL ON A BUILDING
In several embodiments, the disclosed process may include installing one or more householder devices onto load-bearing structures of a building, installing one or more perimeter beams onto the one or more householders, installing a new exterior assembly onto the one or more perimeter beams, removing an existing roof, and constructing an additional level on the building. In at least one embodiment, installing the one or more householders onto the load-bearing structure may include cutting a hole in the existing roof above the load-bearing structure, attaching the householder onto the load-bearing structure, and sealing the hole around the householder. Installation and construction method of wall panel
Installation and construction methods for installing a wall panel are provided. The wall panel includes a surface member and a long joint member that extends horizontally, is fixed to one plate surface of the surface member, and is joined to a pair of wooden columns. The method includes: disposing the joint member between the pair of wooden columns; joining both longitudinal ends of the joint member to respective side surfaces, facing each other, of the pair of wooden columns; installing the wooden beam between the pair of wooden columns and adjusting erection of the wooden columns; and fixing an edge of the surface member to front surfaces of the pair of wooden columns and the wooden beam.
Timber beam end connection using embedded mechanical fastening
A beam connecting system uses a threaded connector rod and a mating connector, for example a nut, for mounting the end of a wood beam against the upright supporting surface of a supporting body. The connector rod protrudes from the upright supporting surface of the supporting body to be received in a fastener bore extending longitudinally into the beam from the end face of the beam. A transverse access bore which intersects the fastener bore receives the mating connector to form a mechanical connection to fasten the end face of the beam against the upright supporting surface. A wood plug encloses the access bore such that the mechanical connection is fully embedded in the beam and supporting body so as to be surrounded by wood material, and thus be protected from elevated temperatures in fire condition.
Multiple port beam bracket
A connection device may include a first side support, a second side support opposite the first side support, a first guide and a second guide opposite the first side support. The first guide and second guide connect the first side support to the second side support. The first guide, second guide, first side support and second side support define at least one cavity shaped to accept an upright beam. A plate may extend between the first side support, the second side support, the first guide and the second guide, in which case the plate, first guide, second guide, first side support and second side support define two cavities shaped to accept two upright beams. One or more of the first guide, second guide, first side support and second side support may include a plurality of side attachments that define side connection area(s) shaped to accept a lateral beam(s).
Portal frame with lap joint for moment resistance
A lateral force resistance system for a building is provided wherein a portal frame is constructed with a lapped connection between the supported structural member and the supporting structural member and the supporting structural member is made with an elongated member that spans the width of the supporting structural member and the height of the supporting structural member.

In one aspect, the connector has a main body that has integral nail prong fasteners. In one aspect, the main body of the connector is attached to the held and holding members by means of double-shear fastening.
