Medical treatment apparatus and water reservoir for same
A water reservoir includes a water reservoir base configured to hold a volume of water to be used for humidification of pressurized breathable air, a water reservoir lid connected to the water reservoir base, and a compressible resilient portion configured to seal between the water reservoir base and the water reservoir lid. The base and the lid are movable relative to one another when connected whilst maintaining sealing therebetween due to the compressible resilient portion. A retainer is configured to secure the water reservoir to a water reservoir dock, and has a protrusion or recess to releasably engage one another when the water reservoir is received in the dock, with a reaction force to compression of the compressible resilient portion urging the protrusion and the recess into engagement with one another.
Method for measuring the anesthetic agent consumption in a ventilation system
A method for measuring the anesthetic agent consumption in a ventilation system has a breathing circuit which contains a gas mixer (1) and an anesthetic agent metering device (2). The anesthetic agent quantity, which is consumed over a pregiven time interval in the ventilation system, is determined from the sum of the determined anesthetic gas volume flows in the ventilation system which are integrated over the pregiven time interval.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ADJUSTING HUMIDIFICATION DURING PRESSURE SUPPORT THERAPY
The present disclosure pertains to a pressure support system configured to adjust a pressurized flow of breathable gas delivered to a subject. The system is configured to simplify adjustments to humidity and/or temperature control and/or pressure support therapy that enhance the comfort level of the subject during therapy. The system is configured to generate output signals and/or determine various parameters related to the pressurized flow of breathable gas. The system is configured to receive feedback from the subject related to a comfort level of the subject during therapy and automatically adjust the pressurized flow of breathable gas and/or the predetermined therapy regime, provide feedback to the subject, and/or prompt the subject to make manual adjustments based on the output signals, the determined parameters, the feedback, and/or other information.

An integrated respiratory pressure therapy device and humidifier for pressurising and humidifying breathable air to treat a respiratory disorder in a patient, includes a blower configured to pressurise the breathable air; a water reservoir configured to hold a volume of water to be used for humidification of the breathable air, the water reservoir comprising a water reservoir base, a water reservoir lid connected to the water reservoir base, and a compliant portion. The compliant portion is constructed from an elastomeric material and configured to seal between the water reservoir base and the water reservoir lid. A water reservoir dock forms a cavity configured to partially receive the water reservoir. The water reservoir lid includes a protrusion and the water reservoir dock includes a recess configured to releasably engage one another to secure the water reservoir to the water reservoir dock.

The present invention relates to an electrically operable resuscitation device comprising a piston/cylinder assembly including a rigid cylinder including at least one gas inlet and at least one gas outlet, a piston to travel in said cylinder, and at least one valve, the or each valve configured to allow gas to be displaced into said cylinder through said at least one gas inlet during at least one of a first stroke direction and second stroke direction of said piston in said cylinder, and for allowing gas to displaced through said at least one gas outlet during an opposite of said at least one of the first stroke direction and second stroke direction of said piston in said cylinder; a motor, selected from one of a stepper motor and feedback motor and stepper motor with feedback and linear motor, operatively connected to said piston to move said piston in said cylinder; a patient interface in ducted fluid connection with said piston/cylinder assembly to receive gas via said at least one gas outlet and to deliver said gas to said patient.
SEAL
A seal for a ventilator piston. The seal is configured to be secured to a ventilator piston and received within a piston chamber of a ventilator to provide a slidable seal against an inner wall of the piston chamber. The seal comprises a deformable body comprising a first material, and a layer of a friction-reducing material provided on at least a portion of the deformable body and configured to provide slidable sealing contact with the inner wall of the piston chamber. The first material and the friction-reducing are different. Also provided is a ventilator comprising such a seal, and a method of manufacturing such a seal.
Edge handling methods for associated depth sensing camera devices, systems, and methods
The present technology relates to the field of medical monitoring, and, in particular, to non-contact detecting and monitoring of patient breathing. Systems, methods, and computer readable media are described for calculating a change in depth of a region of interest (ROI) on a patient. In some embodiments, the systems, methods, and/or computer readable media can identify steep changes in depths. For example, the systems, methods, and/or computer readable media can identify large, inaccurate changes in depths that can occur at edge regions of a patient. In these and other embodiments, the systems, methods, and/or computer readable media can adjust the identified steep changes in depth before determining one or more patient respiratory parameters.
