NOISE REDUCTION APPARATUS AND METHOD OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME

A noise reduction apparatus can include a frame and multiple spaced apart panels positioned adjacent to each other. Each of the panels or only one of the spaced apart panel elements may have holes therein to receive acoustic waves for absorbing the waves between the panels. The panels can be attached to a frame or other connection structure so that the arrangement of panels can be hung over a work space or positioned in a work space (e.g. in a wall, formed as a partition or wall, included as part of shelving, etc.). The panels can also be incorporated into a light fixture that may hang from a ceiling or be attached to some other type of support (e.g. a table, a base, etc.). The panels can be composed of glass, wood, or other type of material.

A lightweight, durable mounting system for sound foam panels that provides a quick installation process and that solves the basic question of how a musician, home owner, renter, tenant, or person looking to make a room quieter can install sound absorbing foam panels in a fast, cheap, and un-harmful manner. The system includes an acoustical pad with selected sound absorption capabilities with an optional firm backing attached to the pad, an optional firm lay-in sheet with or without adhesive, a containment frame a fastening manner for removably securing the acoustical pad to the frame, and an installation way such as rings for hanging or adhesive pads for surface mounting to walls or ceilings.

Acoustic panel

An acoustic panel is provided. The acoustic panel may include a hidden mounting structure formed on the rear surface of the acoustic panel. The hidden mounting structure allows the acoustic panel to be used with substrates of any density, including substrates with a medium density of greater than 2 lbs. per cubic foot (pcf) and less than 6 lbs. pcf. In one particular embodiment, the acoustic panel may be used with substrates having a density of approximately 3 lbs. pcf. The acoustic panel may also include a cover formed from two or more materials having different acoustical and/or physical properties.

Acoustic panel wall mounting

An acoustic panel wall mounting system including a rigid fastening plate and a panel anchor. The rigid fastening plate carries a field of first touch fastening features and defines an aperture for receiving a mechanical fastener to secure the fastening plate against a wall with the field of first touch fastening features exposed. The panel anchor has a helix extending from a rigid surface flange that carries a field of second touch fastening features on a surface opposite the helix. The anchor defines a tool receptacle used for twisting the helix into a panel. The field of first touch fastening features is engageable with the field of second touch fastening features to form a connection when brought into engagement as the panel is placed against the wall to contact the fastening plate with the panel anchor.

A precursor to form an impaling clip, and an impaling clip formed therefrom. The impaling clip is configured for mounting an acoustic panel on a structural component, e.g., a wall stud, of a building. The impaling clip includes a base member from which a pair of prongs project upward perpendicular to the plane of the base member. The base member includes at least one hole for receipt of a fastener, e.g., a screw, to fixedly secure the base member of the clip to the structural component. Each prong includes a leg portion terminating in pointed head and outwardly projecting under-cut barbs configured to pierce through the back surface of the panel to lock the prong within the panel so that it is resistant to removal.

ACOUSTIC AND INSULATION MOUNTING

A mounting for acoustically insulating a first building component from a second building component, said mounting having a first insulating portion extending around a fastener, a second insulating portion extending around said fastener, a neck insulating portion extending between said first insulating portion and said second insulating portion, such that a shaft of the fastener is covered by one or more of the insulating portions between the first building component and the second building component.

DEVICE FOR DEFLECTING AND DECELERATING A FLOW

The present invention corresponds to a device for deflecting and decelerating a flow comprising a deflecting surface, a support structure connected behind the deflecting surface and a vortex generator connected on the deflecting surface, where the vortex generator generates two turbulent flow zones, a first low pressure zone below the vortex generator and a second high pressure zone above the vortex generator, and where the deflecting surface is concave in the direction of the incident flow, and the vortex generator is on the concave part.
