09677264 · 2017-06-13 · ·

A thermal break wall system comprised of 36 thermal studs each comprised of two non-dimensional lumber sections with a thermal break section of rigid foam insulation therebetween. The studs are 24 on center. The studs are used for headers and sills and also may be used for top and bottom plates. The corners have an exterior all wood stud, an interior all wood stud and an interior all wood stud adjacent to the interior wood stud completing the interior corner for nailing gypsum board thereto. This corner has a thermal break space between the exterior and interior wood studs for insulation placement. The corners may also have two 36 thermal studs oriented 90 degrees from each other and an interior all wood stud for completing the interior corner for nailing gypsum board thereto. This corner arrangement also has a thermal break through its construction.

ACOUSTICALLY ATTENUATING FASTENERS

A fastener for securing drywall to a framing member includes an elastomeric sleeve that reduces the transmission of sound through the drywall to the framing member and vice versa.

APPARATUS FOR INSTALLATION BETWEEN AN INTERNAL WALL TO A BUILDING FACADE AND A METHOD THEREFOR

Apparatus (100) for fitting as an installation between an internal wall (159) of a building and a faade (170) of said building in order to seal a gap (175) between said internal wall (159) and said faade (170), the apparatus (100) including a building profile (101) having a first member (113) and a second member (115) integrally formed with said first member (113), and a first resilient and intumescent component (124) fitted to said first member (113) and abutting against said faade (170), wherein said apparatus (100) provides and maintains an acoustic and intumescent seal between said internal wall (159) and said faade (170).

Insulating wall, a column assembly therefore and a method of constructing such an insulating wall

The present invention concerns a columns assembly for an insulating wall of a building structure, said column having a side surfaces adapted to receive and retain insulation panels of the insulating wall, said column assembly comprising an inner spacer element made of mineral wool fibers, a central element made of mineral wool fibers, an outer spacer element made of mineral wool fibers, wherein the spacer elements are assembled with first and second intermediate profiles between the spacer elements, and wherein the density of the mineral wool in the central element is higher than the density in the inner and outer spacer elements. The invention also concerns an insulating wall assembly of a building structure with such a column assembly and a method of constructing such insulating wall.

Sound isolation assemblies for walls supporting heavy loads

A sound isolation assembly comprising: one or more backing plates; one or more acoustic isolators; and a backing block. The acoustic isolators may be secured between the backing plates and the backing block when the backing plates are fastened to the backing block. When the backing plates are fastened to the backing block, the backing plates are substantially prevented by the acoustic isolators from being in direct contact with the backing block. The acoustic isolators may be fastened to the studs. The sound isolation assembly, when installed in a wall that is supporting a heavy load, raises the Sound Transmission Class rating of that wall.

Method and apparatus for flood remediation
12270197 · 2025-04-08 ·

An apparatus, structure, and method are disclosed for flood remediation of a residential or commercial structure. The flood remediation apparatus, structure, and method may include forming foam insulation in a certain shape within a wall and using modified cement boards instead of traditional drywall. Forming the foam insulation in a certain shape, such as the shape of a rut or cavity, will provide a channel to allow water from a flood event to flow out and air to flow into the interior of a wall. Using modified cement boards in place of drywall allows airflow to travel to the interior portion of the wall and is a more durable material that can be dried, cleaned, and reattached onto the wall once all interior surfaces that came in contact with flood waters are completely dried. In other embodiments, the cement boards may be left on the wall. In some embodiments, drying behind a cement board wall is facilitated with a portable fan blower adapter.

Composite framing member comprising elements that provide a thermal break

A framing assembly may include a plurality of framing members that are coupled together to form a cavity. Each of the plurality of framing members may include a structural member. The structural member may include a lateral surface extending along a length of the structural member. The structural member may include an exterior-facing surface extending along the length. The exterior-facing surface may extend from a first edge of the lateral side in a substantially orthogonal direction. The structural member may include an interior-facing surface opposite the exterior-facing surface and extending from a second edge of the lateral surface. The framing assembly may include at least one insulation member secured to one or both of the exterior-facing surface and the interior-facing surface of the structural member. A width of each insulation member may substantially match a width of a respective one of the exterior-facing surface and the interior-facing surface.

THERMALLY INSULATIVE SPACER AND METHODS INVOLVING USE OF SAME

A spacer for use in spacing a cladding component from a building component has a support member, a base spaced apart from the support member, the base having a contact surface facing away from the support member, a web connected between the support member and the base, and a guide configured to locate the cladding component on the support member. A plurality of the spacers can be used by resiliently deforming them to accommodate and retain by restorative bias force a corresponding plurality of portions of the cladding component. Thereafter, the spacers are secured to the building component.
