ROOFING MATERIALS INCLUDING A PARTING AGENT LAYER
Asphalt-based roofing materials, such as shingles, are disclosed that include a layer of parting material. The layer of parting material is applied to at least a part of the top, bottom, or both the top and the bottom of the shingle. When the shingle includes the parting material on the bottom, the layer of parting material replaces all or a portion of a backdust layer. When the shingle includes the layer of parting material on the top, the layer of parting material replaces a portion of granules on the shingle. The layer of parting material can be applied to the shingle in patterns and configurations that permit an adhesive to be applied to the shingle and function as intended. The parting material may include a metal salt of a fatty acid, a polyolefin, and/or a crosslinkable silane
ROOFING SHINGLES WITH REGISTERED SELF-SEAL STRIP PATTERNS
Shingles have self-seal strips with features that include sealant dashes or dots separated by drainage gaps. The self-seal strips are registered with each shingle so that the features are positioned at the same locations on each shingle. A method of making such shingles includes synchronizing the rotation of sealant applicator wheels with the shingle chop cutter so that cuts are made at repeated designated locations along the applied self-seal strips.
TILE REPLACEMENT FLASHING FOR USE WITH A TILE HOOK
A tile replacement flashing is used with a tile hook. A bottom tile replacement flashing is shaped for placement on a lower portion of a location where a tile is removed from a roof. A top tile replacement flashing is shaped for placement on an upper portion of a location where the tile is removed from the roof. The top tile replacement flashing includes an elevated region at a lower portion of the top tile replacement flashing, the elevated region. The bottom tile replacement flashing is shaped so that after attachment of the bottom tile replacement flashing on the roof, the tile hook can be attached to a rafter of the roof, the attached tile hook extending over an upper portion of the bottom tile replacement flashing and having a portion that, past the upper portion of the bottom tile replacement flashing, extends upwards. The top tile replacement flashing is shaped so that after attachment of the top tile replacement flashing on the roof, at least part of the elevated region of the top tile replacement flashing extends over the bottom tile replacement flashing. A height of the elevated region is sufficient to allow room for the tile hook to extend over the bottom tile replacement flashing and under the elevated region of top tile replacement flashing.
Roofing, cladding or siding apparatus
A roofing, cladding, or siding apparatus comprises a roofing, cladding, or siding module and at least one clip. The module comprises an underlapping region and an exposed region. The underlapping region is adapted to be substantially covered by the exposed region of an adjacent overlapping module when installed on a building surface. A projection extends from the exposed region to provide a bearing surface facing the under surface of the exposed region. The clip or clips is attachable to the underlapping region to provide a tongue adapted to be received between the bearing surface and the under surface of the exposed region of an adjacent overlapping module when installed on a building surface.
Roofing, cladding or siding product, its manufacture and its use as part of a solar energy recovery system
A roofing, cladding or siding product which is light weight, easy to install, durable, and resistant to environmental wear includes a module that can be used to form a weatherproof covering over top of a building surface. The module can also form a weatherproof covering, and be used as part of a thermal energy recovery or removal system. The module can also form part of a thermal energy recovery system that includes an array of solar cells to generate electrical energy.
Roofing system and method
A system and method of roofing. The present invention includes a fabric sheet having an upper surface and a lower surface. The upper surface includes one of a hook and loop fastener and the lower surface is configured to be attached to a roof decking. The present invention further includes a plurality of tiles each having an upper edge, a lower edge, a top surface, and a bottom surface. The other of the hook and loop fastener is attached to the bottom surface. The plurality of tiles are releasably attached to the upper surface of the fabric sheet via the hook and loop fasteners.
DEVICES AND SYSTEMS FOR VENTILATION OF SOLAR ROOFS
This application relates to the ventilation of a solar roof. For example, a solar roof can include a solar roof tile and a spacer, batten or other ventilating components to space the solar roof tile from the roof deck, and provide ventilation to the solar roof tile, for reduced operating temperatures and improved efficiency in electricity generation.
Interlocking Roofing Panels
An interlocking roof panel has an upper section and a lower section dividing the panel, the lower section having a lower edge. The panel also has a receiver channel between the upper section and the lower section, the receiver channel having a groove undercutting the lower section. A claw protrudes from the lower section and extends beyond the lower edge of the panel, the claw is engaged with the receiver channel of another roof panel.
A ROOF, SIDING, OR CLADDING, OR RIDGE OR HIP MEMBER FOR A ROOF
A ridge or hip member for a roof comprising a substantially flexible zone and a substantially rigid zone on each side of the flexible zone. The flexible zone adapted to allow the member to be bent by an installer by hand to conform the member to the ridge or hip of a roof, with the flexible zone located along a ridge or hip line of the roof. Each rigid zone being located on each side of the ridge or hip line.
Roof forming element for a roof of a building, and roof
The invention relates to a roof forming element for a roof, comprising a roof plate, a beam integral with the roof plate, such that the integral combination of the roof plate and the beam has an L-shaped cross-section, a cover, and coupling means for coupling the roof forming element to a further, neighbouring element. The roof forming element, at least in a mounted condition of a plurality of such elements, is configured such that the second longitudinal side of the element is arranged to be supported by the first longitudinal side of a further, neighbouring one of said elements, so that the beam of the further roof forming element also supports the roof plate of the roof forming element, and so that the respective roof plate elements of said roof forming element and further roof forming element are flush with respect to each other.
