MOVEABLE STAIR SYSTEMS AND METHODS

The present disclosure relates to stair systems and methods for allowing stair movement between building levels while maintaining the structural integrity of the stair system for safe egress passage. The systems and methods of the present disclosure allow for independent movement of the surrounding building walls, landings, floor slabs, and/or any other portion of the surrounding building structure or stair system. The embodiments of the present disclosure are suitable for use in both new constructions as well as in existing constructions for retrofit applications to allow for movement between levels, landings, or within stairwell structures. The present disclosure reduces stair damage during building movement whether it is from wind, thermal, or seismic activity, and/or any other type of suitable force or experience, as the present disclosure allows for directional movement, or a combination thereof, including tension and compression, lateral, or vertical movement.

Insulting member for a hole in an attic floor

A multimode or multi-configuration insulation assembly includes a cover and a frame. The frame has a seal or gasket which may be oriented upwardly in a first configuration or oriented downwardly in a second configuration. In the first configuration, the insulation assembly defines an insulative 5-sided box. In the second configuration, the insulation assembly is a four-sided frame with a removable cover, which enables the four-sided frame to remain installed on the attic floor to act as a dam to hold back blown-in attic insulation when the cover is removed to permit ingress and egress to the attic through the opening formed in the attic floor.

Foldable staircase
10428531 · 2019-10-01 ·

A foldable staircase that can be easily transported and conveniently used rather than a ladder. The foldable staircase includes a lower staircase and an upper staircase. The upper staircase and the lower staircase are constructions that bridge vertical distances and provide platforms allowing the user to walk up or down the foldable staircase. The foldable staircase provides an alternative means to reach high areas that is easy and safe to ascend or descend as conventional stairways and staircases along with the transportability of a conventional ladder. The foldable staircase can be adjusted to a collapsed configuration or operative configuration. The collapsed configuration allows a user to store or easily transport the foldable staircase. The operative configuration allows the user to ascend or descend the foldable staircase.

Laterally Collapsible Staircase

A laterally collapsible staircase with first and second side rails has a number of advantages compared to prior structures. A leveling screw is connected to the second side rail bottom surface to adjust the position of the stairs when deployed to insure that the stairs are horizontal. The second rail has a top side edge extending between its top and bottom and a recessed area extends along the second rail top side edge allowing a user's fingers to grip the rail to facilitate its movement between laterally collapsed and deployed positions. At least one permanent magnet is connected to the second side rail inner surface capable of interacting with another aligned permanent magnet mounted in a wall to help maintain the second side rail in a laterally collapsed position until intentionally moved. Pre-calibrated gas struts eliminate racking, jiggle, and bounce of the staircase.

ATTIC STAIR APPARATUS
20240191509 · 2024-06-13 ·

An improved retractable attic stair apparatus assembly includes a stair component retractable staircase assembly including two shock mount subassemblies, two gas spring subassemblies, and two short railing pipe assemblies. The two short railing pipe assemblies are used as a left and right handrail of the retractable staircase assembly while also supporting the two shock mount subassemblies. The two gas spring subassemblies are at least partially supported by the two shock mount subassemblies. The attic stair apparatus is configured for an installation site in an attic or a garage and includes a first retracted configuration. A deployed configuration allows the apparatus to extend downwardly from the installation site for use of the attic stair apparatus by a user to ascend the attic stair apparatus to access an attic, a garage crawl space, or a garage roof.

Folding attic stairway transport system

The present invention relates to an integrated folding safety handrail and outdoor escape stairs for high-rise buildings and an emergency escape device which are applied to high-rise buildings such as safety handrails for preventing falling from a movable passage exposed to apartment houses such as apartments or office buildings, and the outside and is applied as a substitute for safety handrails in high-rise buildings or outdoor ground clearance 3 m or more which is usually used as a safety handrail for falling prevention and so that an escaping person in the high-rise building escapes outside or safely escapes to a lower floor in case of emergency such as fire, terror, and disaster. Particularly, the present invention relates to an integrated folding safety handrail and outdoor escape stairs for high-rise buildings and an emergency escape device, including a fence unit 1 in which an entrance unit 10 and a safety fence unit 20 are integrated; and a sliding stair unit 30 formed at a lower end of the fence unit 1.
