MOISTURE CURABLE ADHESIVE COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR INSTALLING HARDWOOD FLOORS

An adhesive composition for adhesively bonding floor coverings to a variety of substrates. The composition includes 0.2 to 10 weight percent of a plurality of irregularly shaped spacer particles of size 0.5 mm to 10 mm; 10 to 50 weight percent of a moisture curable polymer system; and 40 to 90 weight percent of additives for modifying physical properties of the composition. The adhesive has a composition such that, when cured, results in an elastomeric film of uniform thickness that exhibits controlled moisture vapor transmission and sound abatement properties. A floor structure and a method for constructing the floor structure using the adhesive composition are also provided.

A handheld concrete finisher is disclosed for finishing concrete from an upright or standing position. The concrete finisher includes a concrete finishing tool, a handle assembly, a multi-axis pivot assembly attached between the handle assembly and the concrete finishing tool, and a control mechanism that allows an operator to selectively prevent the handle assembly from pivoting or rotating about one of the pivot axes. The multi-axis pivot assembly allows the operator to pivot the handle assembly both side to side and backward and forward relative to the concrete finishing tool, and to prevent the handle assembly from rotating while still allowing the handle assembly to pivot side to side. The finishing tool is detachable and can be any one of a number of tools for preparing concrete, based on the job requirements. The handle assembly can be adjusted for the operator's height and/or to extend the operator's reach.

Displaceable floor trowel
09957726 · 2018-05-01 ·

A displaceable floor trowel for applying a flowable material to a floor surface includes a body having a back wall and two spaced apart guide walls extending forwardly from the back wall. A blade assembly for applying the flowable material includes a blade disposed behind the back wall. At least one connection member connects the blade to the body such that the blade is moveable to selectively engage the bottom application edge with the flowable material. A connection between the connection member(s) and the blade or the body is configurable in first and second alternate configurations. In the first configuration, the connection member(s) maintain the bottom application edge at a constant orientation with respect to the body. In the second configuration, the connection member(s) allow a variation of the orientation of the bottom application edge with respect to the body.

Apparatus and method for smoothing drywall mud
09885189 · 2018-02-06 ·

Apparatus and methods for smoothing and blending drywall mud are provided. The apparatus provides a tool having one or more flexible blades to be applied to unfinished cured drywall mud. The blades may be selectively flexed by driving a displacement member towards or away from the blades. The flexed blades may be used to smooth and feather portions of drywall mud to conceal underlying irregularities and to blend with surrounding drywall. The blades may be biased against the displacement member by biasing mechanisms. The tool may receive multiple blades, including a rough-edged blade for a first pass across the drywall mud and a smooth-edged blade for a subsequent pass across the drywall mud. The blades may be kept in place with connectors which may be flexibly connected to allow for flexion.

3D notch trowel
12163340 · 2024-12-10 ·

The present invention provides an improved 3D notch trowel designed for the application of materials such as adhesive. The trowel features a blade with at least one notched edge, having a 3D profile, which can take various forms including a round, as well as square, rectangular, triangular, or similar shapes. This notched edge comprises a top portion and a bottom portion that define an opening, a depth, and a perimeter surface having an angle. This unique design allows for the creation of consistent and evenly distributed grooves in the adhesive material at various angles relative to the flooring surface. Additionally, the notched edge of the trowel is capable of being filed down multiple times while maintaining the same consistency of material application. This design enhances the longevity of the trowel.

When spreading adhesive, an adhesive spreader tool and adaptor for attachment to a handle, the adaptor and spreader tool for spreading adhesive over a floor surface from a standing position. The spreader tool includes two sheets each sheet folded along respective at least one slot to form a folded portion of the sheet. Once the two sheets are joined they form an array of castellations along respective first sides of the joined sheets and end walls formed by the folded portions, the sheets suitable for spreading adhesive over the floor the width of a tile. The adaptor is configured to engage the adhesive spreader tool and has first and second longitudinal support members adapted to be slidable within a first channel or one in each of two channels so that the support members support.
