20170159307 · 2017-06-08 ·

A wave pool for generating surfable waves is disclosed. The wave pool includes a pool for containing water. The pool defines a channel having a first side wall, a second side wall, and a bottom with a contour that slopes upward from a deep area proximate the first side wall toward a sill defined by the second side wall. The wave pool further includes at least one foil at least partially submerged in the water near the side wall, and being adapted for movement by a moving mechanism in a direction along the side wall for generating a wave in the channel that forms a breaking wave on the sill. The wave pool further includes one or more passive flow control mechanisms to mitigate a mean flow of the water induced by the movement of the at least one foil in the direction along the side wall.

A surface gravity wave generator and wave pool is disclosed. A wave pool is formed of opposing side walls and a center channel of water. The channel includes a bottom contour with a depth that runs from a deep end to a shoal or beach. One or more three-dimensional foils are vertically arranged along at least one side wall, and moved against the water in the channel. Each foil has a curvilinear cross-sectional geometry that defines a leading surface that is adapted to generate a wave in water moving past the leading surface, and a trailing surface configured for flow recovery to avoid separation of the flow of water in the wave and to mitigate drag from the foil from the water moving past the leading surface.

Water overflow edge device for a swimming pool and relative improved structural element

A water overflow edge device for a swimming pool is having a channel consisting of bottom, rear and front walls is disclosed. The front wall is made of a plurality of modular structural elements arranged in sequence and coupled together end-to-end. The channel is also covered on top by a walking grid that allows swimming pool water to enter. Each modular structural element has a first component with structural function, provided at the bottom with coupling means with the bottom wall of the channel and with the top of the vertical inner wall of the swimming pool. The structural component includes at one side with a first surface, which forms the front wall of the channel, and with a second substantially vertical surface, opposite the first surface and configured to support a second coating component which forms the entire exposed surface of the water overflow edge device and which has a finishing function. Preferably, the first component is plastic and the second coating component is ceramic.

Apparatus for evacuating contaminants and water vapor from an area above a swimming pool

An apparatus captures and evacuates air from an area above a body of liquid, particularly a swimming pool. The apparatus exhausts the contaminants and water vapor to an area outside of an enclosure housing the swimming pool. The invention comprises an assembly mounted to a wall adjacent the body of liquid. The assembly is comprised of a top section, opposing side sections connected by the top section, and at least one flange extending from an edge of at least one side section. The wall-mounted and bench assembly may be formed integrally, but also may be formed from two or more pieces.

SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR A POOL FITTING

A drainage system includes a pool fitting, a longitudinal member, and a backing member. The pool fitting is configured to be positioned between an edge of the pool and a first edge of a gutter. The pool fitting includes a support member and an alternating drain structure. The longitudinal member is coupled to the alternating drain structure and has a first sidewall and an opposing second sidewall. The first sidewall of the longitudinal member and the support member define a cavity therebetween. The backing member is configured to be positioned proximate an opposing second side of the gutter. At least one of the alternating drain structure, the longitudinal member, and the backing member are configured to align a gutter cover over the gutter at a target slope.
