POOL CLEANER WITH MOVEABLE WATERWAY
20220228390 · 2022-07-21 · ·

A pool cleaner equipped with a joint and a water inlet hose is disclosed. In a rotatable or use configuration, the water inlet hose is freely rotatable relative to a housing to avoid entanglement. In a locked or non-use configuration, either the joint or the water inlet hose is fixed relative to the housing to facilitate installation and/or removal of the water inlet hose via rotation between the joint and the water inlet hose.

METHODS FOR DETERMINING FLUIDIC FLOW CONFIGURATIONS IN A POOL SYSTEM
20220125677 · 2022-04-28 · ·

One aspect of the invention provides a computer-implemented method for controlling a swimming pool or spa system. The computer-implemented method includes: creating a data structure representing a plurality of swimming pool system components and fluidic connections between subsets of the plurality of swimming pool system components; receiving a request to control one or more of the plurality of swimming pool system components; calculating fluidic flows through the plurality of swimming pool system components based on one or more potential configurations of the plurality of swimming pool system components capable of fulfilling the request; and detecting whether the one or more potential configurations result in unsatisfactory conditions.

A pool cleaner includes a vent mechanism and a water port in fluid communication with the vent mechanism. When a forward end of the pool cleaner extends above a waterline of the pool, water flows through the vent mechanism and the water port over an inlet port and prevents loss of suction at the inlet port. A protruding member of the pool cleaner contacts submerged obstacle and tilts the pool cleaner to prevent the pool cleaner from becoming stuck on the submerged obstacle.

POOL CLEANING ROBOT WITH REMOVABLE FILTER AND IMPELLER

Power supplies for pool and spa equipment

Power supplies for pool and spa equipment are disclosed. In one embodiment, the power supply includes a buoyant housing, a peripheral float, at least one solar cell positioned on the buoyant housing for collecting sunlight and converting same to electrical energy, and a power cable for interconnecting the power supply and pool/spa equipment. In other embodiments, first and second inductive power couplings are provided for powering pool and spa equipment. The power couplings can also be installed using existing plumbing features of the pool or spa.

BYPASS MECHANISM FOR AUTOMATIC POOL CLEANERS

A bypass mechanism for automatic swimming pool cleaners (APCs) is detailed herein. The bypass mechanism may be a valve or other mechanical device that limits operation of the APC by diverting water away from the APC or otherwise ceasing operation of the APC after a predetermined period of time (e.g., after the desired run-time for the APC has been reached). In this way, the bypass mechanism limits the time the APC operates, even if the pump that otherwise would drive the APC remains energized.
