HINGE FOR MAINTAINING POSTS IN LONGITUDINAL CONTACT
20200032564 · 2020-01-30 ·

A hinge is arranged to move two panels, such as a stationary fence panel and a gate, between an open position and a closed position. When the hinge is in a closed position, the posts to which the hinge is attached are maintained in substantial contact along substantially the entire longitudinal length of the posts, thereby preventing small animals from passing through the fence. The hinge has two hinge halves, each having a finger portion arranged to interlace with a finger portion of the other hinge half, each finger of the finger portions defining an opening, and an arcuate post-engaging portion extending for at least 90 degrees and defining a longitudinal opening for receiving an end post, wherein each longitudinal opening faces the other when the hinge is in a closed position. The hinge also has a hinge pin passing through and within the openings allowing rotation.

Horizontal cable rail barrier

A barrier panel is formed of a first vertical rail member and a second vertical rail member mounted to and extending between a top rail member. The first vertical rail member includes a first web portion and a pair of leg portions extending from the first web portion, and a second web portion disposed spaced apart from the first web portion and between the pair of leg portions. The first web portion and second web portions define a plurality of aligned through holes. A plurality of cables are mounted to and extend between the first vertical rail member and second vertical rail member, wherein a first end of each cable is secured within one set of the aligned first and second through holes and a second end of each cable is secured within an opposite one of the third through holes.

Connector

A connector is formed from a hollow barrel, an elongate pin and a hook. A pair of parallel channels are formed in one end of the barrel. The pin has an enlarged head and an attached shaft that extends through both the barrel and the base of the hook. The pin and the hook rotate as a unit. Such rotation causes the head of the pin to either block or open the channels. Two parallel strands of a sheet of infill material are received in the channels while open, and the pin rotated until the head blocks the channels, thereby capturing the strands. This rotation concurrently brings a concave portion of the hook into a position aligned with and facing a nearby post. A nut is tightened on the end of the shaft in order to firmly join the connector, sheet and post.

SECURITY SYSTEM

A multi-layered security system having an attack side, the security system comprising a plurality of barriers arranged in a spaced apart relationship with respect to each other, wherein each pair of barriers are located opposite to each other to define another barrier comprising a passage located between the pair of barriers located opposite to each other. The system can additionally comprise security defences such as anti-climb mesh, spike barriers or rollers. The system further comprises a link bar to join together adjacent panels and create barriers. The link bar comprises a means for joining together adjacent panels on both ends and maintaining the panels in a spaced apart relationship. The link bar can also comprise a means for maintaining the panel in an erected condition by securing it to the ground.
