VEHICULAR ACCESS SYSTEM WITH EXTENDABLE AND RETRACTABLE DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY
A vehicular access system includes a door handle assembly having (i) a base mounted at a door of a vehicle, (ii) a handle movable relative to the base and (iii) an electrically operable actuator that is electrically operated to move the handle relative to the base. The handle is movable between a recessed position and a partially extended position. The vehicular access system controls operation of the electrically operable actuator to move the handle between the recessed position and the partially extended position. The vehicular access system detects an authorized user and determines movement of the detected authorized user. Responsive to determination that the authorized user is approaching the door of the vehicle, the vehicular access system unlocks the door handle assembly and controls operation of the electrically operable actuator to move the handle to the partially extended position.
CLOSURE LATCH ASSEMBLY WITH BI-DIRECTIONAL POWER RELEASE MECHANISM
A power latch assembly for a vehicle door of a motor vehicle includes a ratchet configured for movement between striker capture and striker release positions, wherein the ratchet is biased toward the striker release position, and a pawl configured for movement between a ratchet holding position, whereat the pawl maintains the ratchet in the striker capture position, and a ratchet releasing position, whereat the pawl releases the ratchet to the striker release position. A powered actuator is energizable to move in a first direction to move the pawl under a first release torque from the ratchet holding position to the ratchet releasing position and the powered actuator is energizable to move in a second direction to move the pawl under a second release torque from the ratchet holding position to the ratchet releasing position, wherein the second release torque is greater than the first release torque.
HANDLE MODULE WITH ACTUATING MODULE FOR AN ELECTRONIC LOCKING SYSTEM, AND VEHICLE DOOR WITH HANDLE MODULE
A handle module may have at least one actuating module for triggering a switching function. The actuating module may be designed as a capacitive actuating sensor and may have two or more capacitive auxiliary electrodes for detecting secondary signals. The actuating module may also have a capacitive main electrode for detecting an actuation path. And, the actuating module may also have an electronic evaluation unit which is connected to the auxiliary electrodes and the main electrode. The evaluation unit may be configured to trigger or block a switching signal for the switching function as a function of the detected signals of the auxiliary electrodes and the detected signal of the main electrode.
VEHICLE WITH AN UNLOCKING MECHANISM, LOCKING MECHANISM, AND/OR OPENING MECHANISM FOR AN ELECTRONIC LOCK
A vehicle may have an unlocking mechanism and/or locking mechanism and/or opening mechanism for an electric vehicle lock where at least one contactless, triggering device for actuating the unlocking mechanism, locking mechanism, and/or opening mechanism, and a status indicator of the unlocking mechanism, locking mechanism, and/or opening mechanism, are provided. The triggering device is non-visibly arranged on a vehicle panel and/or on a body section, and the status indicator is arranged in an outwardly visible region of the vehicle, such as in a channel strip element.
Automatic Child Safety Lock Release
An automated child safety unlocking system which disengages she child safety locks and may unlock the vehicle door in appropriate circumstances such as when the vehicle ignition has been turned to the off position or when engine is stopped. The automated child safety unlocking system enables operability of the interior vehicle doors by an occupant to allow unencumbered egress from the vehicle to prevent a child or other individual from being trapped in the vehicle. The result is reduced risk that children or other vehicle occupants become dangerously entrapped within an overly hot, cold, or dangerous vehicle.
Flush door handle for vehicle
An exterior door handle assembly for a vehicle door includes a base portion disposed at a door handle region and a handle portion including a base end, a swing end, and a grasping portion disposed between the base end and the swing end. A connector has a first end pivotally connected to the base end of the handle portion and a second end movably coupled with the swing end of the handle portion. The first and second ends of the connector are pivotally attached at respective connecting links that are pivotally attached at the base portion. An actuator operates to engage a portion of a first connecting link to impart pivotal movement of the first connecting link to move the handle portion between a recessed position and a deployed position. When the handle portion is deployed, the handle portion is manually movable to actuate or release a door latch.
Vehicular exterior door system with touch sensors at door handle
A vehicular exterior door system includes a door handle assembly configured for mounting at a door handle region of a vehicle door of a vehicle. The door handle assembly includes a pocket lighting module comprising at least one light emitting diode operable to emit light to illuminate a pocket region of the door handle region. The door handle assembly includes a plurality of touch sensors linearly arranged along a handle portion and generating sensor data based on detection of touch at the respective touch sensor. The vehicular exterior door system, with the door handle assembly mounted at the door handle region, and responsive to processing at the processor of the sensor data generated by individual touch sensors of the plurality of touch sensors, determines a touch event at the door handle assembly and, responsive to the determined touch event, unlocks the vehicle door.
CAPACITIVE PROXIMITY SENSOR AND DOOR HANDLE DEVICE COMPRISING THE CAPACITIVE PROXIMITY SENSOR
Where: the resonance frequency of an LCR resonance circuit 20 is f1 and the determination voltage signal is V1, when an object is not in the proximity of a sensor electrode 22; the resonance frequency of the LCR resonance circuit 20 is f2 and the determination voltage signal is V2, when a human body is in proximity of the sensor electrode 22; and the resonance frequency of the LCR resonance circuit 20 is f3 and the determination voltage signal is V3, when water is in the proximity of the sensor electrode 22, having the relationship
f1>f2>f3, a control unit 42 controls a high-frequency signal S0 so as to satisfy the relationship V2>V1>V3, and a human body or water being in the proximity of the sensor electrode 22 is distinguished.
Powered vehicle door latch and exterior handle with sensor
A vehicle door includes a powered latch configured to selectively retain the door in a closed position when the powered latch is latched, and permits the door to be opened when the powered latch is unlatched. The vehicle door further includes an exterior door handle having an outer side that faces away from the door structure, and an inner side that is spaced apart from an outer surface of the door to define a gap. A force sensor on the exterior door handle detects impact forces on the handle. The door also includes an unlatch switch that can be actuated by a user to request unlatching of the powered latch. A controller is configured to deny an unlatch request generated by actuation of the unlatch switch if the force sensor detects an impact on the exterior handle.
