Latchbolt retractor, a latchbolt assembly, and an assembly for a lockset

A latchbolt retractor (12) is described herein. The latchbolt retractor (12) comprises a latchbolt retraction mechanism (30) mounted to a carriage (28). The latchbolt retraction mechanism (30) comprising a latchbolt assembly coupler (32) for operational coupling to a latchbolt assembly (22). The carriage (28) is configured to slide along at least one rail (14,16) for positioning the latchbolt assembly coupler (32) relative to the latchbolt.

A door latch system (1) comprises a latch (10) and rose bases (60A,B) which clamp together against a door panel through a cross-drilling in the door panel by screws 80 engaging in bosses (94) above and below the latch body (12). The latch body is supported in the cross drilling by an adaptor (40) which in turn supports sleeve extensions (90) of the rose bases to prevent the rose bases from turning on operation of the handle knob/levers attached to the rose bases. The sleeve extensions are open, (that is, C-shaped in section) so that the diameter of the parts of the system within the cross drilling can be minimised, whereby the diameter of the rose bases can likewise be kept within desirable limits of size.

LOCK DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Lock devices, systems, and methods including an internal mechanism to permit backdriven operation and lost motion operation. In one form, the lock includes an assembly of parts with locating features that assist in those parts being assembled with other parts of the assembly in a single, relative orientation. Further, lost motion may be utilized to accommodate manual displacement of one or more components that can also be displaceable, in some embodiments, via operation of a motor. The lock can also include an internal power source capable of driving electronics used to determine handedness of a door.

PRIVACY LOCK

A privacy lock assembly and method of operation are provided. The lock assembly has a push button offset from the central axis of the lock assembly for locking and unlocking the assembly. The lock assembly includes compression springs to maintain integrated handles in predetermined orientations when the handles are not subject to a load.

Configurable door lock

A lock for a door including a configurable lock function. The lock includes a removable and user accessible actuator which when removed from the lock disables a lock function, and when inserted into the lock enables the lock function. Removal of the actuator places the lock in a disabled condition in which the lock cannot be locked by other means. Insertion of the actuator into the lock places the lock in an enabled condition in which the lock is locked or unlocked by the position of the actuator. The lock is installed without the actuator when the lock is intended to be used only in a passage operation where the door provides access only, but does not restrict access. The lock is installed with the actuator when the lock is intended to be used in a privacy operation where the lock is intended to restrict access to an area.

A lock device that prevents operation of at least one chassis spindle from retracting a latch bolt, and which may provide auto-unlock features. Locking of the lock device can effectuate linear displacement of a slider body from an unlocked position to a locked position. Linear displacement of the slider body is translated into rotational displacement of a cam body that includes, or is coupled to, a locking shaft having a cam protrusion, thereby rotating the cam protrusion. As the cam protrusion rotates, the cam protrusion lifts a locking lug to a locked position wherein the locking lug prevents rotational displacement of a first chassis spindle. When in the locked position, a slider arm of the slider body can be positioned in a retention slot. Subsequent rotable displacement of a second chassis spindle can effectuate displacement of the slider arm from the retention slot and facilitate unlocking of the lock device.

A status indicating handle assembly generally includes a handle, an activation carrier mounted in the handle, and a status indicator mounted in the handle and engaged with the activation carrier. The handle includes a shank extending along a longitudinal axis and a grip portion extending laterally from the shank. The activation carrier is mounted in the shank, and has an unlocking position and a locking position. The status indicator has a first state in which a first indicium is displayed and a second state in which the first indicium is not displayed. The activation carrier transitions the status indicator between the first state and the second state as the activation carrier moves between the locking position and the unlocking position.
