DOOR ARRESTER

A door arrester, in particular for a door of a motor vehicle, includes a door retainer rod (30) which can be mounted on either one of the door (2) or the body (3) so as to be pivotable and has a first side (35) with profiling (35a) formed on the first side (35); and a first braking element which can be arranged on the other of the door (2) or the body (3) and in sections bears against the first side (35) of the door retainer rod (30) under the effect of a preload, and which, with the profiling (35a) of the first side (35), defines at least one retaining position. The first braking element has a central boring, the door retainer rod (30) has an elongate through-hole (33), a guide pin (40) passes through the central boring and the through-hole (33), and the guide pin (40) permits an axial movement of the first braking element along the guide pin (40).

Motor vehicle lock

The invention relates to a motor vehicle lock comprising a locking mechanism provided with a rotary latch and at least one pawl, a rotary movement of the rotary latch can be blocked by means of the pawl, a drive device by means of which the pawl can be transferred from the locked position into a release position for the locking mechanism, and an adjusting device (9). A motor vehicle part (4) accommodating the vehicle lock can be moved from the closed position into an open position by means of the adjusting device (9). Said adjusting device (9) maintains the motor vehicle part (4) in the open position such that the motor vehicle part (4) can be prevented from opening automatically from the open position.

Security latch for a swing bar door guard
10975602 · 2021-04-13 ·

A security latch for a swing bar door guard having a break away rotatable cross-member to further secure the swing bar so as to permit a minimal gap between the door and doorway when the door is opened while the cross-member extends through the swing bar retaining arm passage and is rotated lengthwise across the span to secure the swing bar. The minimal gap inhibits the introduction of a tool into the span along the midsection of the swing bar that could be used to pry the swing bar members apart to release the knob of a swing bar retaining arm.

A hold open rod includes an inner member, an outer member configured to have the inner member slide in and out of the outer member, and a locking mechanism configured to selectively lock the inner member and the outer member with respect to each other. The locking mechanism includes a locking plug configured to move axially along an axis of the inner member and the outer member to a locking position and an unlocking position, a locking dog configured to move radially between a locking position and an unlocking position as a result of a camming action with the locking plug as the locking plug moves axially, and a lock transfer bar operatively connected to the locking plug and configured to move the locking plug to the locking position and the unlocking position when the lock transfer bar is moved.

HOOD PROP ROD ASSEMBLY FOR VEHICLES

Embodiments herein are directed to a hood prop assembly for a vehicle having a hood panel with a slot. The hood prop assembly includes an elongated member, a housing, and a retainer mechanism. The elongated member has a first end and a second end. The first end is coupled to the vehicle. The housing includes a cavity. The housing further includes a distal end and a proximate end. The cavity extends axially from the proximate end and receives the second end of the elongated member. The retainer mechanism extends from the distal end of the housing. The housing and the retainer mechanism rotatably move with respect to the second end of the elongated member between a locked position and an unlocked position. In the locked position, the retainer mechanism engages with the slot to retain the hood panel and in the unlocked position, the retainer mechanism disengages with the slot.
