CATHETER DEVICE HAVING BENDABLE EXTENSION LEGS
20230233801 · 2023-07-27 ·

Catheter devices can have bendable extension legs. The extension legs may be designed to include armature wire that enables the extension legs to be bent into and to retain a variety of orientations. As a result, a clinician can easily position the luers of the extension legs into positions that are suitable for a particular patient and/or the clinician.

Expandable sheath with longitudinally extending reinforcing members

An expandable delivery sheath includes an elastic outer tubular layer and an inner tubular layer. The inner tubular layer include a thick wall portion integrally connected to a thin wall portion. The thin wall portion can include longitudinal reinforcing members/rods that facilitate unfolding during the passage of the implant, thus decreasing the push force and increasing the consistency of the push force. The inner tubular layer can have a non-expanded or folded condition wherein the thin wall portion folds onto an outer surface of the thick wall portion under urging of the elastic outer tubular layer. When an implant passes therethrough, the outer tubular layer stretches and the inner tubular layer unfolds into an expanded lumen diameter. Once the implant passes, the outer tubular layer again urges the inner tubular layer into the non-expanded condition with the sheath reassuming its smaller profile.

EXPANDABLE SHEATH FOR A TRANSCATHETER HEART VALVE

The present disclosure relates to a sheath that is usable with a medical device, particularly to a sheath that is useable with a medical device and which sheath is expandable in the regions that the medical device is positioned in the sheath, and more particularly to a sheath that is useable with a medical device and which sheath is expandable in the regions that the medical device is positioned in the sheath and which sheath reforms to its same or similar size and shape after the medical device has passed through a portion of all of the sheath. The sheath is used to protect the body passageway of a patient as a medical device is inserted into and/or through the body passageway and to a treatment site.

VASCULAR ACCESS SYSTEM

A vascular access system comprising a sheath, a slitted sleeve, and a sealing portion of the slitted sleeve. The slitted sleeve comprises a tubular sleeve body having a longitudinal slit along its length, wherein the slitted sleeve is adapted to receive a first portion of a medical device therein. The longitudinal slit closes, but does not seal, after the first portion of the medical device is inserted therein. The sealing portion of the slitted sleeve is configured to fill a gap and form a seal between an inner surface of the sheath and a portion of the first portion of the medical device disposed in the sheath when the sheath is inserted in the blood vessel and the slitted sleeve is inserted into the sheath lumen. A vascular access device accessory and a method for inserting it into a sheath are also provided.

CATHETERS ADAPTED FOR AGENT DELIVERY

Medical delivery devices, such as catheters, and their methods of use and manufacture. The medical delivery devices are adapted to facilitate the delivery of an agent into a patient. The medical delivery devices may have one or more deformable lumens, each of which has a collapsed configuration and an open configuration. The medical delivery devices may include one or more agent delivery ports, any one of which may be proximal or distal to an expandable device, such as a balloon.

LOW TEMPERATURE HYDROPHILIC ADHESIVE FOR USE IN EXPANDABLE SHEATH FOR INTRODUCING AN ENDOVASCULAR DELIVERY DEVICE INTO A BODY
20230017645 · 2023-01-19 ·

Disclosed is an expandable sheath that can be used in conjunction with a catheter assembly to introduce a prosthetic device, such as a heart valve, into a patient. The disclosed sheaths can minimize trauma to the vessel by allowing for temporary expansion of a portion of the introducer sheath to accommodate the delivery apparatus, followed by a return to the original diameter once the prosthetic device passes through. Also disclosed is a sheath having inner and outer layers, where a folded portion of the inner layer extends through a slit in the outer layer, and a portion of the outer layer overlaps the folded portion of the inner layer and where a first polymer is disposed between the outer layer and the folded portion of the inner layer.

A catheter having a shaft including a first lumen that communicates from the proximal end to the distal end of the shaft, and a second lumen that is positioned on the outer periphery side of the first lumen, communicates from the proximal end side to the distal end side of the shaft, and has a smaller opening area than the opening area of the first lumen in a transverse section of the shaft. The dimension in the first direction in the distal end portion of the shaft where the first lumen and the second lumen are aligned is less than or equal to the dimension in the first direction in the proximal end portion that is closer to the proximal end side than the distal end portion of the shaft.

FLOW MODIFICATION IN BODY LUMENS
20230218872 · 2023-07-13 · ·

The devices and methods described herein include an implantable body lumen fluid flow modulator including an upstream flow accelerator separated by a gap from a downstream flow decelerator. The gap is a pathway to entrain additional fluid from a branch lumen(s) into the fluid stream flowing from the upstream flow accelerator to the downstream flow decelerator.

Expandable introducer sheath for medical device

An expandable medical sheath can include a sheath body having a lumen that extends between proximal and distal ends of the sheath. The sheath can have first and second members where the first member has a different elastic modulus than the second member such that one provides elasticity to the sheath and the other provides column strength. The first and second members can be coupled together in alternating sections to form the tubular sheath or the stiffer members can be embedded in the elastic member along all or a portion of the longitudinal length of the sheath. The sheath can automatically move to an expanded state to allow a larger diameter medical device to pass through the lumen, and once through the sheath can automatically return to its initial diameter.

Method of treating deviated nasal septum, enlarged nasal turbinate, or mucosal hypertrophy

A method includes inserting a first dilation catheter into a first nostril of a patient. A first dilator of the first dilation catheter is positioned between the nasal septum of the patient and the turbinate of the patient. The first dilator is expanded, thereby remodeling one or more of the nasal septum, the turbinate, or mucosal tissue of the patient. The first dilation catheter is removed from the nostril of the patient. A second dilation catheter may be inserted into a second nostril of the patient. A dilator of the second dilation catheter may provide an opposing force on the nasal septum to prevent over-medialization of the nasal septum.
