This disclosure also relates to a method and a rotation assembly, which may include a liftgate bracket and a flipglass bracket.

DOOR SWING CONTROL DEVICE AND ASSOCIATED METHOD

A door swing control device comprises a bracket affixed to a door, a pivoting element pivotably affixed to the bracket, and a swinging catch mechanism mounted directly or indirectly to the structure. The pivoting element comprises a finger extending therefrom and is engaged with the bracket to limit a range of movement of the pivoting element relative to the bracket. The finger is engageable with the swinging catch mechanism to limit a range of movement of the pivoting element relative to the swinging catch mechanism and thereby selectively limiting a range of movement of the bracket relative to the swinging catch mechanism. When the finger of the pivoting element is engaged with the swinging catch mechanism, the door is held in the first open position. When the finger of the pivoting element is disengaged from the swinging catch mechanism, the door can swing between the first and second open positions.

A vehicle is disclosed that includes: a vehicle body having an outer body panel; a tailgate that is movable in relation to the vehicle body via a tailgate actuation system between a closed position and an open position; and a bracket that is configured to receive the tailgate actuation system. The bracket includes a main body portion and an appendage that extends transversely from the main body portion such that the appendage engages the vehicle body to inhibit rotational deflection of the tailgate actuation system and, thus, lateral flexure of the outer body panel during movement of the tailgate.

The door includes a hinge assembly that has a first hinge hinged to a vehicle body and a second hinge hinged to the first hinge and engaged with a rear end of a rear door. An opening start device rotates the rear end of the rear door to the outside of the vehicle at an early stage of opening of the rear door and a closing end device rotates the rear end of the rear door to the inside of the vehicle at a last stage of closing of the rear door. A guide unit is configured to guide a front end of the rear door to move the front end of the rear door in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle at the initial stage of opening of the rear door and the last stage of closing of the rear door.
