JACKING SCREW FOR ADJUSTING A WINDOW FRAME
Embodiments described herein may be directed to the functional application and method of use of a jacking screw for adjusting a window frame. In accordance with the present disclosure, adjusting the jacking screw may cause a first portion of the window frame to be lifted or lowered with respect to a second portion of the window frame. In doing so, a desired alignment of a window installed in the window frame may be achieved. This process may eliminate the use of shimming the underlying surface, thereby making it easier to install the window frame on surfaces that are not perfectly level.
FENESTRATION ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION SYSTEM FOR THE SAME
A fenestration installation adjustment system includes one or more jack sockets configured to couple with a fenestration frame of a fenestration assembly. The one or more jack sockets include a contoured socket profile. One or more adjustment jacks are received in one of the one or more jack sockets. Each of the adjustment jacks includes a contoured jack profile complementary to the contoured socket profile. The adjustment jack and the contoured jack profile are movable relative to the respective jack socket along the contoured socket profile. The adjustment jacks each include an engagement foot configured for surface to surface engagement with a rough opening boundary surface. Movement of the adjustment jack relative to the jack socket is configured to move the fenestration frame according to the relative movement.
MOUNTING ASSEMBLY
An adjustable mounting assembly includes a wall channel; an adjustment channel fitting within the wall channel; and a connection means arranged to adjustably connect the adjustment channel to the wall channel. The connection means includes a fixing block, with a first aperture therethrough, arranged to fit within the wall channel and between the wall and adjustment channels, the first aperture arranged to receive a wall fixing member arranged to pass through the base of the wall channel so as to secure the fixing block to the wall channel; and an adjustable fixing member arranged to secure the adjustment channel to the fixing block, a head of the adjustable fixing member being within the adjustment channel in use; wherein movement of the adjustable fixing member is arranged to allow movement of the adjustment channel, and the adjustment channel is arranged to receive a profile strip to cover the adjustable fixing member.
System for Hollow Metal Frame Installation
A system for hollow metal frame installation comprising at least one retaining shim, a head leveler, at least one cross string clip, a plumb bob clip, and a HMF spreader. The at least one retaining shim is configured to shim an HMF to desired wall finish thickness. The head leveler is configured to raise the HMF to be level. The at least one cross string clip is configured to measure alignment of the HMF. The plumb bob clip is configured to measure the plumbness of the HMF. The HMF spreader is configured correct deficiencies in the opening size of the HMF.
Frame Assembly with shim jack
Aspects of the disclosure relate to a frame assembly, such as a door frame assembly for hanging a door. A frame assembly can include a longitudinal adjustment mechanism and a shim jack for connecting to the adjustment mechanism. The shim jack can include a longitudinal body with a first leg and a second leg extending from a base of the longitudinal body. The frame assembly can also include a frame with a jamb leg for adjustably connecting to the adjustment mechanism. The jamb leg can define a port for receiving the shim jack, and the adjustment mechanism may be operable to move the base of the shim jack with respect to the jamb leg to brace the frame assembly within an opening, e.g., by moving the first leg and the second leg against a framing member that defines the opening.
Jamb adjuster
A jack screw-type fastener with a head defining an interior aperture with a Phillips pattern in the top and in communication with a central channel sized and shaped to receive a fastener therethrough for structurally reinforcing the window jamb of a window frame. The jamb adjuster includes a series of oversized and narrowly oriented threads relative to commercially available threaded fasteners (about 50% larger than average), frictionally engaging a greater ratio of the window frame wall depth than conventional. In use, the jamb adjuster is a self-tapping screw member that renders unnecessary a receiver, reducing component cost and structural degradation, and instead displacing a portion of the window frame material, for example vinyl, during insertion, causing a more structurally secure attachment to the window frame. The jamb adjuster also provides a more robust attachment mechanism for vital weather stripping than other fasteners or adhesive as known in the art.
WINDOW INSTALLATION APPARATUS
The herein described invention is a window installation apparatus comprising of at least one wedge-shaped distance piece. The apparatus according to the invention comprises a body (1) connected in a sliding manner to a clamp (3) between which an expansion unit is positioned, comprising at least one wedge (6) and a lead screw (9) connected by means of a threaded connection with an opening (12) of the wedge (6), wherein the body (1) has protrusions (2) positioned at its opposite sides, lateral rails (5) mating with brackets (4) of the clamp (3) and an opening (10) in a rest wall (11) for the lead screw (9), while the outer walls (7) of the wedge (6) and the inner walls (8) of the body (1) and the clamp (3) converge downward at the same angle.
COMPRESSION FRAMING SYSTEM
A compression framing system configured to engage with opposing mounting surfaces, the compression framing system having a compression frame, the compression frame comprising: a first compression arm and second compression arms, each compression arm having: a body member; a pivot foot engaged with the body member, said pivot foot being configured to engage directly with a corresponding mounting surface; and a shock bracket engaged with the body member and configured to engage with a protective structure; an inner support beam configured to secure the first compression arm to the second compression arm; and an expansion controller associated with the body member of the first compression arm; wherein the expansion controller is configured to selectively adjust a separation distance between the pivot feet of the compression arms. The compression framing system is configured to provide a mounting structure frictionally engaged with opposing mounting surfaces for non-destructive attachment of the protective structure.
FENESTRATION UNIT WITH INTERIOR INSTALLATION FEATURES AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Installation systems and methods for fenestration units configured to be set into a rough opening (RO) from interior side of a building structure or wall. The fenestration units may include a retention system coupled to the frame and operable to exert a retention force on the fenestration unit to maintain positive engagement of the fenestration unit with the rough opening framing and resist extraction of the fenestration unit from the rough opening upon insertion of the fenestration unit in the rough opening from the interior side of the rough opening.
Adjustable door frame
A door frame assembly includes integral shim screws in the vertical jambs that facilitate installation of the assembly into a rough opening or doorway. The vertical frame jambs have one or more holes therethrough. Shim screws are positioned in those apertures and are adjustably extendable outwardly therefrom to engage a rough opening to assist in fixing the frame in that opening.
