Quick release door roller assembly
An improved vertical lift door roller assembly has a wheel pivotally mounted to a shaft. The shaft is placed within a spring loaded locking cylinder. The locking cylinder is movable between a first position where it restricts pivoting of the wheel and a second position where the wheel is able to pivot. The door roller assembly is mountable to a support a vertical lift door, such as a bracket or a hinge. The roller wheel can be pivoted to decouple the roller from a vertical lift door wheel track and to reseat the wheel in the track.
Window protector device and method for making same
A window protector device and method is provided that includes a polycarbonate receptacle configured to be received in an outermost groove of a double-hung tilt-wash window frame, a multi-wall polycarbonate rectangular cuboid panel configured for being received in said receptacle via a two sided adhesive material, the device being coupled to double-hung tilt window sashes via buckled straps disposed in horizontally oriented slotted apertures with the straps sandwiched between the receptacle and the panel, with the ends of the straps extending outwardly from the panel for strapping onto the respective window sashes.
Pivot bar for window sash
A pivot bar for a tiltable window sash may include an elongated body, an anti-rotation feature and a retaining finger. The elongated body has first and second opposing ends and first and second opposing surfaces extending between the first and second ends. The elongated body also has a first longitudinal axis extending through the first and second ends. The first end may be configured to be received in a window balance assembly. The retaining finger may extend from the second surface and may be configured to engage the tiltable window sash.
Frame with a sliding mechanism
A window frame comprising a plurality of elongate frame members defining a frame opening for receiving a window for closing the frame opening. At least one of the elongate frame members having a longitudinally extending recess; and a slide mechanism received within the recess, wherein the slide mechanism comprises a first track fixed within the recess and a second track movable within and along the recess and coupled to the first track via a rotary coupling member such that movement of second track along the recess causes the rotary coupling member to rotate, wherein the second track is arranged to be coupled to the window when the window is received within the frame opening to enable the window to slide relative to the frame.
Hidden insect screen system for double hung, tilt-to-clean windows
A hidden insect screen system for tilt-to-clean, double hung windows whereby raising the bottom sash (104) causes resultant opening to fill with insect screen (115a) dispensed from an ordinary self-storing roller mechanism (114) mounted inside bottom rail (109) of said sash and whereby lowering the upper sash (105) causes resultant opening to fill with insect screen (115b) dispensed from an ordinary self-storing roller mechanism (122) mounted inside window head frame (103), all furnished such that vertical edges of the screens are protected from insect passage by contacting weatherstrip-like edge seals (127), and arranged such that insect protection is maintained with minimal interruption when each sash is tilted and its glazing is cleaned, the lower end of the upper screen being attached so as to be quickly repositioned from top to bottom of said upper sash.
UPPER TILT-IN DOUBLE HUNG WINDOW
A sash tilt system for an upper sash of a double hung window includes a mounting bracket sized and shaped to be fixed relative to a lower sash jamb pocket. A sleeve that is configured to be mounted on the upper sash, and a sash link including a first end and an opposite second end. The first end is rotatably coupled to the sleeve and the second end includes a post extending therefrom. The post is at least partially receivable within the mounting bracket such that the sash link is rotatable with respect to the mounting bracket and the sleeve when the upper sash tilts away from an upper sash jamb pocket.
Leafless joint system that pivots and slides
A leafless joint apparatus that couples a housing structure to a hatch structure such as a cover or door. Similar to previous hinge apparatuses, the leafless joint apparatus can include a knuckle and a pintel or pin to facilitate pivot operations (e.g., the cover pivoting open). However, the leafless joint apparatus does not rely on leafs that attach by means of fasteners (e.g., screws or the like) and therefore can facilitate sliding operations (e.g., the cover can slide open). Thus, the leafless joint apparatus can facilitate access to an interior of the housing structure by way repositioning the hatch structure via a pivot or hinging operation or via a sliding operation that can partially or fully expose the interior of the housing structure and even, if desired, slide entirely off, decoupling from the housing structure.
SNAP LOCK BALANCE SHOE AND SYSTEM FOR A PIVOTABLE WINDOW
Disclosed are apparatus for a snap lock balance shoe and system to be incorporated in pivotable double hung windows. In one embodiment, the snap lock balance shoe includes a pair of retractable tabs that partially extend through openings within an inverted window balance.
