SYSTEM AND METHODS OF ATTACHING RETENTION MEMBERS TO INSULATING GLAZING UNITS
Embodiments herein relate to methods for attachment of a retention member to an insulating glazing unit, resulting structures, and systems for the accomplishing the same. In some embodiments, a method of attaching a retention member to an insulating glazing unit can include placing a spacer unit between a first pane of glass and a second pane of glass to form the insulating glazing unit and applying an adhesive composition to at least one of a perimeter of the insulating glazing unit and the retention member. The method can further include mounting the retention member onto perimeter edges of at least one of the first pane and the second pane. Other embodiments are also included herein.
FRAMELESS WINDOW INSTALLATION ASSEMBLY
A frameless window installation assembly is adapted to be mounted on a building wall, and includes a window sheet unit, and inner and outer bar holders. The window sheet unit has opposite inside and outside surfaces. The inner bar holder is made of metal, is disposed around a periphery of the inside surface, and is adapted to be secured to the building wall. The outer bar holder is made of metal, is disposed around a periphery of the outer side surface, is spaced apart from the inner bar holder, and is adapted to be secured to the building wall. The inner bar holder and the outer bar holder are not directly interconnected by a metal structure. The window sheet unit is secured between the outer and inner bar holders.
IMPACT WINDOW ASSEMBLY
An impact window assembly for use with an overhead door panel with an opening is disclosed. The impact window assembly includes a glazing sized to cover the opening and has an interior surface that overlap the overhead door panel about that opening. The assembly further includes a front frame having an outer edge at least slightly bigger than the opening in the overhead door panel and an inner edge smaller than the opening. The frame is vacuum-formed onto the glazing and the overhead door panel. The assembly may further include a first plurality of fasteners mechanically engaging the overhead door panel and glazing, a bead of structural sealing applied between the glazing and panel, and mounting tape between the glazing and front frame. Methods for assembling the impact window assembly are also disclosed.
GLAZING RETAINER FOR IMPACT RATED DOORS
A door includes a plurality of door panels hingedly connected. At least one of the plurality of panels includes a frame, a glazing member, and a retainer member. The frame defines an opening and includes a lip extending into the opening. A front side of the glazing member is disposed adjacent the lip. The retainer member is disposed adjacent a rear side of the glazing member. The retainer member includes a body member, a first leg, a second leg, a third leg, and a fourth leg. At least three of the first, second, third, and fourth legs are configured for receipt into corresponding channels in the frame to secure the retainer member to the frame.
ANTI-SEISMIC ASSEMBLY AND MODULAR BUILDING
An aseismic assembly and a modular building are provided in the present disclosure. The aseismic assembly is provided between a main frame and a displaceable frame spaced apart from the main frame. The aseismic assembly includes a fixed member and a movable member. The fixed member is disposed on a lower surface of the top portion of the main frame. The movable member is used to interconnect the fixed member and the displaceable frame, wherein the bottom portion of the movable member is inserted into the top portion of a post of the displaceable frame. The movable member is movable relative to the displaceable frame along a height direction of the main frame. The top portion of the movable member is connected to the fixed member. The movable member is movable relative to the fixed member along a horizontal direction.
Vented Protective Panel for Glazing
A security unit protects a glazing unit supported by a window frame The window frame defines a void that is in communication with an air space through external air vents. The window frame has a side panel that defines side panel holes. The security unit includes a security panel that is spaced apart from the glazing unit to define an air cavity and is secured to a vertical tubular bar that is secured to a side panel of the window frame. The vertical tubular bar defines a passage therethrough in communication with the air cavity through air cavity vents and defines passage holes aligned the side panel holes. Air circulates from the air cavity to the air space through the air cavity vents, the passage holes, the side panel holes and external air vents.
PRESS-FIT WINDOW INSERT
A press-fit window insert configured to provide secondary protection to an existing window, having a carrier, a fin, and a fastening clip. The carrier includes a substantially rigid framework having channels within the framework configured to securely accept one or more attachments. The fin extends from the carrier and includes a substantially flexible blade extending from a base portion of the fin. The base portion of the fin is configured to interlock the fin to the carrier. The fastening clip includes a substantially rigid brim extending from a base portion of the fastening clip. The base portion of the fastening clip is configured to interlock the fastening clip to the carrier.
Frame systems for sealing window films
Exposed edge margins that are formed when a window film is installed on a glazing surface using an aqueous fluid as a lubricant are immediately covered by a series of elongated members that adhere to one or more of the window film or the surrounding frame. The elongated members provide concealed gaps or channels that allow for the slow evaporation of the aqueous fluid as the adhesive on the window film slowly wets and develops maximum bond strength to the glazing surface. The elongated members are preferably left in place as an inner frame. The inner frame device and method can be deployed in attached an light control film to a window, such as UV protective film, IR rejecting film, absorbing film and daylighting film.
UNIVERSAL WINDOW BANDING CLIP SYSTEM
A system for improving the alignment of building product frame members. The system includes a first and second clip member each with an arcuate edge releasably positioned into a channel within the opposed frame members. A longitudinally extending banding strap looped through openings in both first and second clip member. The first end of the longitudinally extending banding strap is inserted into a banding strap tensioning apparatus and tension is applied to the first end as well as to a longitudinally disposed segment of the banding strap that is also inserted into the banding strap tensioning apparatus. Once the specified span is achieved, the overlapping first end and longitudinally disposed segment are bonded together using the banding member tensioning apparatus thereby preventing movement of the first and second frame members away from one another. Sealant is applied to the frame members and the banding strap clip members are removed.
FLOOD BARRIER WINDOW SYSTEM
According to one example, a window system includes a window and further includes a frame that can be coupled to an opening in a structure. The frame includes one or more window seats and one or more moveable window stops. The one or more window seats can surround all or a portion of a periphery of the window. The one or more moveable window stops can be moved and coupled to different positions along a depth of the one or more window seats. The window includes a first window portion, a second window portion, and an interlayer positioned in-between the first window portion and the second window portion. The interlayer extends out of the periphery of the window.
