Insulating Glass Elements for Multiple-Pane Doors with a Transparent Edge Composite and Method for Producing the Insulating Glass Elements
The aim of the invention is to not use, partially or completely, the inner aluminium profile as a spacer in multi-pane doors of refrigerators whilst retaining the required stability and also to replace all other spacers with transparent glass spacer. The invention also relates to methods for the production thereof. The insulating glass elements for the multiple-pane doors with a transparent edge composite for use in shop fittings, refrigerator construction and special cabinet construction, comprise glass spacers (1) between the base disk (4) and the cover disk (4) in the vertical regions of doors and in the upper horizontal region or in both horizontal regions, aluminum or plastic spacers (2), and EVA film sheets (3) between the base disk (4) and the spacers (1, 2) and between the spacers (1, 2) and the cover disk (4), the EVA film sheets (3) are arranged in the four edge regions overlapping the vertical spacers (2) to the horizontal spacers (1). In another embodiment, the EVA film is replaced with ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer granulates, which is heated by means of a metering device and is applied in a liquefied form at the desired positions as thread-shaped strips. The crosslinking between the glass and the ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer occurs in the lamination oven.
BARRIER WINDOW SPACER WITH ENHANCED DURABILITY
A window spacer may include a spacer substrate having two pane contact surfaces, an adhesive surface, and a glazing interior surface. A multilayer barrier film is in contact with the adhesive surface of the spacer substrate. The multilayer barrier film includes at least two first polymeric layers and at least two inorganic layers. The inorganic layers are separated by a second polymeric layer. The second polymeric layer has a thickness lower than 5 m, preferably lower than 4 m, more preferably having a thickness between 1 m and 4 m.
Insulating glazing unit, in particular for a climate chamber
An insulating glazing includes two glass sheets that are spaced apart by an air- or gas-filled cavity, a spacer arranged at periphery of the glass sheets and that keeps the glass sheets spaced apart, the spacer being transparent and placed on one of the sides of the glazing, and a first barrier that is leaktight to water, formed by a structural seal, the material of which is watertight, and a second barrier that is leaktight to gases and to water vapor, the first and second barriers associated to the transparent spacer being made of transparent material, wherein the second barrier that is leaktight to gases and to water vapor and made of transparent material is arranged at an interface between the glass sheets and the transparent spacer on an internal side of the glazing, the structural seal also at the interface being positioned abutted and aligned with the second barrier.
FIRE RESISTANT GLAZING UNIT
Fire resistant glazing units, processes for the manufacture of such fire resistant glazing units, the use of fire resistant glazing units in construction, and constructions comprising such glazing units. A fire resistant glazing unit may include two panes of glass which are arranged together with a seal to enclose a fire-resistant interlayer. The seal is adapted to breach in the event of a fire causing increased pressure between the panes, releasing pressure before it can build up and cause a pane to break in an unfavourable manner.
Glass panel unit and glass window
A glass panel unit includes: a sealing member arranged between a first panel and a second panel, which are arranged to face each other with a predetermined gap left between themselves, to hermetically bond the first panel and the second panel together; and an internal space sealed hermetically with the first panel, the second panel, and the sealing member. The glass panel unit further includes a spacer arranged in the internal space so as to be in contact with the first panel and the second panel. The spacer includes a plurality of resin layers that are stacked one on top of another in a direction in which the first panel and the second panel face each other. At least any two of the plurality of resin layers have different elastic moduli.
Adhesive compositions and their applications
A method of adhering a substantially cured or fully cured silicone based material to a substrate surface is provided. The silicone based material is obtained by curing a condensation curable composition. The condensation curable composition comprises: (I) at least one condensation curable silyl terminated polymer having at least one hydrolysable and/or hydroxyl functional group(s) per molecule; (II) a cross-linker selected from the group of silanes having at least two hydrolysable groups per molecule; and/or silyl functional molecules having at least two silyl groups, each silyl group containing at least one hydrolysable group; and (III) a condensation catalyst selected from the group of titanates and zirconates. The method includes applying a reactive interlayer to the substrate surface and applying pressure to sandwich the reactive interlayer between a surface of the silicone based material and the substrate surface, thereby causing chemical bonding of the silicone based material to the substrate.
System and method for improved louver windows
The system includes a series of operable louvers mounted on a four-sided frame and connected on each side to the operating mechanism that allows for easy opening and closing of the louvers. Every part of the system that is exposing to the exterior of the building is separated from the interior part of the system by a low heat conductivity material as a thermal barrier. Each operable louver is composing of a four-sided main frame, two panes of glass (inner and outer) and a coupling mechanism on each side that connects to the operating mechanism. The main frame acts as the thermal break as well as a system that absorbs the energy created when an outside object impacts the window from the outside. The system incorporates sealing devices between all moving parts to eliminate water and air infiltration. The operating system allows for easy opening and closing of the window by rotating each louver with the crank mechanism assisted by springs.
