20180008153 · 2018-01-11 ·

Intravascular devices, systems, and methods are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method of assembling an intravascular device is provided that includes positioning a first tubular member around a plurality of conductors and a core member; advancing a first of the plurality of conductors through an opening of the first tubular member; positioning a first conductive member around the first tubular member; and electrically coupling the first of the plurality of conductors to the first conductive member. In some embodiments, an intravascular device is provided that includes an insulating member positioned around a plurality of conductors and a core member and a conductive member positioned around the insulating member, wherein at least one of the plurality of conductors extends through an opening in the insulating member and is electrically coupled to the first conductive member.

CATHETER ASSEMBLY

A catheter assembly includes a catheter; a catheter hub fixed to a proximal end portion of the catheter; a hollow needle having a needle tip and disengageably located in the catheter; a needle hub fixed to a proximal end portion of the needle; a guide wire slidably located in the needle, the guide wire being longer than the catheter and having a distal end that is protrudable from the needle tip; a guide wire hub configured to support the guide wire and move the guide wire with respect to the needle in association with movement of the guide wire hub; and a movement mechanism configured to retract the guide wire hub with respect to the needle hub such that the distal end of the guide wire is housed in the needle in association with forward movement of the catheter hub with respect to the needle hub.

Medical device for accessing the central nervous system

Medical devices for accessing the central nervous system, as well as making and using medical devices, are disclosed. An example medical device may include an expandable access sheath having a proximal end region and a distal end region. The expandable access sheath may be designed to shift between a first configuration and an expanded configuration. The expandable access sheath may include a tubular body having one or more axial support members disposed along the tubular body. The medical device may include an expansion member designed to shift the expandable access sheath between the first configuration and the expanded configuration.

GUIDING DEVICE FOR A VASCULAR CATHETER

A guiding device for a vascular catheter that is inserted over a guidewire. The guiding device comprising a tapered component for passing through a bore of the vascular catheter and extending from a distal end thereof. The tapered component has an aperture through which the guidewire may pass so that the tapered component (12) may move along the guidewire. A pushing means extends from the tapered component and is configured to extend beyond a proximal end of the vascular catheter. The tapered component comprises a first section, a second section and the third section. The first section is disposed between the proximal end of the tapered component and the second section, the second section is disposed between the first section and the third section, and the third section is disposed between the second section and a distal end of the tapered component. The first section is a cylinder and the second and the third sections are conical. The taper of the second section differs from the taper of the third section.
