LADDERS, LADDER COMPONENTS AND RELATED METHODS

Ladders, ladder components and related methods are provided. In some embodiments, adjustable stepladders are provided which include locking mechanisms that enable height adjustment of the ladder through application of a force towards the rails of the ladder. In other embodiments, spreader mechanisms are provided with cross bracing located and configured to provide additional stability to the ladder while also incorporating a handle that enables efficient collapsing of the ladder while reducing the potential of pinching ones hands or fingers. In another embodiment, a device is provided for selective coupling with the ladder that includes a support or safety rail and an adjustable tray. The device may be coupled with the ladder in a number of different positions including a stowed position. In another embodiment, a hinge assembly is provided having a magnetic component configured to be magnetically coupled with and temporarily store an object on the ladder.

A stepladder including a pair of front rails, a pair of second rails, a top cap, a fixed step, and a spreader mechanism. The spreader mechanism includes a platform pivotably mounted to the pair of front rails, spreader arms pivotably mounted to the pair of rear rails , and spreader pivot. The stepladder is moveable between a closed position and an open position, the open position limited by the spreader mechanism.

Step Ladder with Hinged Rungs Operable to Collapse on Multiple Axes
20220154530 · 2022-05-19 ·

A ladder having rungs hingedly affixed at both terminal ends to a stringer, the ladder operable to collapse across a lateral or widthwise axis spanned by the rungs, the ladder having hingedly affixed stringers operable to collapse on a lengthwise or longitudinal axis. In some embodiments, a cylindrical tube receives the fully collapsed ladder for stowing and porting.

STATUS SENSING APPARATUS, METHOD, AND PROGRAM

A state detection device includes: an acquisition unit that acquires sensor values related to a center of gravity sway of a worker as time series data from a sensor which is disposed on a leg of equipment for work at height that the worker gets on and which outputs the sensor values; a calculation unit that calculates a feature of a center of gravity sway area and an evaluation value related to the center of gravity sway of the worker from the time series data; an abnormality determination unit that determines whether or not the sensor values are abnormal according to whether or not the feature of the center of gravity sway area satisfies an abnormality determination condition; and a determination unit that determines that the worker is in an unstable state if the sensor values are determined not to be abnormal and the evaluation value is equal to or greater than a threshold value.

Multi-Position Ladder, Method of Using and Method of Making a Multi-Position Ladder

A multi-function ladder having a front section having a first front rail and a second front rail and rungs attached to and between the first front rail and the second front rail. The ladder having a rear section having a first rear rail and a second rear rail and rungs attached to and between the first rear rail and the second rear rail. The rear section having a telescoping section attached to the first rear rail and the second rear rail to vary a length of the rear section. The ladder having a first hinge attached to the first front rail and the first rear rail. The ladder having a second hinge attached to the second front rail and the second rear rail. Each hinge having a locked state and an unlocked state. The ladder having an actuator directly attached to the front section and remote and separate and apart from the first hinge and the second hinge. The actuator when actuated moving the first and second hinges between the locked state and the unlocked state. When the first and second hinges are in the unlocked state, the rear section can be moved between a leaning ladder mode, a step ladder mode, a stairway ladder mode and a straight ladder mode upon which each hinge goes into the locked state in the desired ladder mode. A method for using a multi-position ladder. A method for producing a multi-position ladder. An actuator for locking and unlocking a first hinge and second hinge of a ladder.
