Apparatus and method for recovering fluids from a well and/or injecting fluids into a well
Methods and apparatus for diverting fluids either into or from a well are described. Some embodiments include a diverter conduit that is located in a bore of a tree. The invention relates especially but not exclusively to a diverter assembly connected to a wing branch of a tree. Some embodiments allow diversion of fluids out of a tree to a subsea processing apparatus followed by the return of at least some of these fluids to the tree for recovery. Alternative embodiments provide only one flowpath and do not include the return of any fluids to the tree. Some embodiments can be retro-fitted to existing trees, which can allow the performance of a new function without having to replacing the tree. Multiple diverter assembly embodiments are also described.
Method and device for setting and retrieving a crown plug
A device for setting and retrieving a crown plug in a well head. The device has a mandrel device, an outer housing device, a snap sleeve device downwardly protruding from the lower end of the mandrel device and a locking element. The device has an upper plug connection device and a lower plug connection device for connection to the upper connection interface and a lower plug connection device of the crown plug, respectively. An annular compartment is provided radially outside at least parts of the locking element and radially inside a lower end section of the mandrel device. An upper end of the snap sleeve device is provided axially displaceable in the annular compartment. The lower plug connection device may be configured between a locked state and an unlocked state by axial displacement of the snap sleeve device in relation to the locking element.
SUBSEA SYSTEM AND METHODOLOGY UTILIZING PRODUCTION RECEPTACLE STRUCTURE
A technique facilitates deployment of equipment, e.g. an electric submersible pumping system, in a subsea production operation. According to an embodiment, a subsea tree assembly, e.g. a horizontal subsea tree assembly, comprises a spool body housing having a channel extending therethrough. A production receptacle structure is secured within the channel and provides a reduced internal profile for securing wellbore equipment. For example, the internal profile may be constructed to sealably receive a cable hanger used to support power cable by which an electric submersible pumping system may be suspended. The production receptacle structure also may be equipped with a production stab for interfacing with a tubing hanger located below the production receptacle structure.
Method and apparatus for pulling a crown plug
Provided is a method and apparatus for pulling a crown plug from a subsea horizontal christmas tree, the method comprising: (a) providing a subsea lubricator having a longitudinal through bore and a jack attached to the subsea lubricator, the jack having a landing area, and the landing area having an opening which is fluidly connected to the lubricator's through bore; (b) providing a jacking string which includes a landing sub and a crown plug connector, the sub having a landing surface; (c) without the jacking string in step b, lowering the subsea lubricator of step a, to the horizontal christmas tree and attaching the lubricator to the christmas tree; (d) lowering the jacking string to the lubricator, and, while the landing surface of the landing sub is spaced above and not supported by the landing area of the jack, connecting the plug connector to the crown plug while the landing sub is above and not touching the landing area of the jack; (e) jacking up the jack such that the landing area of the jack contacts the landing surface of the landing sub, and pushes up on the jacking sub and jacking string causing tensile forces to be placed on the crown plug and releasing the crown plug from the profile of the christmas tree; (f) while the lubricator remains attached to the christmas tree, raising the jacking string and crown plug through and out of the lubricator and to the surface of the water to remove the tree; and (g) detaching the crown plug from the crown plug connector.
TUBING HANGER RUNNING TOOL SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A tubing hanger running tool includes an inner annular body, an outer annular body positioned circumferentially about the inner annular body, and an outer sleeve positioned circumferentially about the outer annular body and configured to move in an axial direction to actuate a hanger-to-wellhead lock ring to set the tubing hanger within the wellhead. The tubing hanger running tool also includes one or more control line adapters, wherein each of the one or more control line adapters are configured to fluidly couple a first passageway in the outer annular body to a second passageway in the inner annular body to provide a continuous control line path through the tubing hanger running tool as the tubing hanger running tool runs and sets the tubing hanger within the wellhead.
