Flange system

A technique enables maintenance of sufficient clearance between a wellhead and, for example, a mobile rig. The technique facilitates support of a cable, e.g. an antenna suspension cable, at the wellhead without detrimentally affecting the desired clearance. According to an embodiment, a flange system is used in combination with a cable clamp assembly at a wellhead. The flange system may comprise a flange having a connector portion configured for coupling with the wellhead. The flange also comprises a cylinder portion coupled to the connector portion such that the cylinder portion extends into a corresponding bore of the wellhead. The cable clamp assembly is configured to clamp around and support a cable extending down through the wellhead. The cable clamp assembly is supported within the cylinder portion of the flange such that the cable clamp assembly is at least partially disposed within the wellhead.

Casing hanger actuated load shoulder

The second position casing hanger is positioned axially higher and stacked on the first position casing hanger, and a weight of the second position casing hanger is supported, at least in part but less than entirely, by the first position casing hanger and, at least in part but less than entirely, by an actuated load shoulder transferring the force into a high pressure housing. The actuated load shoulder includes a load ring having a hanger side profile and a housing side profile, the load ring is adapted to engage a hanger profile formed in the second position casing hanger and a housing profile formed in the high pressure housing upon activation via the first position casing hanger.

SUBSEA EQUIPMENT ALIGNMENT DEVICE

Systems and methods for coupling subsea tubular members together are provided. An apparatus may be used to properly orient and/or provide communication between a first subsea tubular member that is being landed on a second subsea tubular member. An apparatus for coupling subsea tubular members may include an alignment sub and a corresponding alignment member. The alignment sub includes: a generally cylindrical body having one or more fluid, electric, or fiber optic lines extending therethrough, one or more couplings coupled to at least one end of the alignment sub, and an orientation profile disposed on a surface of the alignment sub. The alignment member has a profile designed to interface with the orientation profile of the alignment sub. One of the alignment sub and the alignment member remains stationary while the other rotates relative to the stationary structure.

ASSEMBLY FOR SUPPORTING CABLES IN DEPLOYED TUBING

An assembly for supporting one or more cables in coiled tubing deployed in a well is described. The assembly includes a receptacle connected to an upper opening of the coiled tubing. A receptacle clamp is connected to the receptacle to provide a circumferential lateral extension surface. A separate extension column having a base portion is supported on the lateral extension surface. The extension column has an upper platform surface separated vertically from the base portion. A cable clamp is supported on the upper platform surface and configured to reversibly grip the one or more cables. The assembly is useful for any process requiring support of cables in coiled tubing deployed in a well, such as a process for assembling a heater for providing underground heat.

DISCONNECTABLE PRESSURE-PRESERVING ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND METHOD OF INSTALLATION

The present disclosure provides a dis-connectable wellhead hanger arrangement permitting a pig tail set of electrical conductors to be inserted within the wellhead hanger arrangement which seals against the wellhead hanger upon separation of an electrical power cable; or alternatively, through an exterior pressure-preserving housing. If the power cable separates from the production tubing for any reason, the compressively fit plugs disconnect the power cable from the pathway leaving the electrical mandrel sealed within the wellhead hanger or housing, thereby sealing the wellhead hanger from loss of fluid after separation.

Cable-based heater and method of assembly

A cable-based heater for providing underground heat and a method of assembly of the cable-based heater are provided. The heater includes a length of coiled tubing having a sealed down-hole end and an open-ended cable support adapter attached to the up-hole end of the coiled tubing. One or more conducting cables are contained within the coiled tubing and a wedging tube is placed in the open end of the adapter for supporting the weight of the one or more cables against the interior sidewall of the adapter when the heater is deployed underground. The wedging tube has an inner surface shaped to conform to the outer shape of the one or more cables and an outer sidewall configured for weight bearing frictional contact with the interior sidewall of the cable support adapter.

Tubing hanger assembly with a tubing head adapter receivable onto a tubing head in any rotational orientation
11066890 · 2021-07-20 · ·

A tubing hanger assembly for suspending a tubing string within a wellbore is provided. The tubing hanger assembly comprises a tubing head, a tubing hanger and a tubing head adapter. The tubing hanger and the tubing head adapter have aligned through-openings such that a chemical injection line and a communications line may each be passed through respective through-openings, thereby enabling an operator to have access to the wellbore. Beneficially, the assembly also comprises a bottom flange that secures the tubing head adapter to the tubing head once the tubing hanger and connected string of production tubing are landed in the wellbore. The bottom flange may be rotated so that ports in the bottom flange may be aligned with ports in an upper flange in the tubing head. A method for hanging a string of production tubing in a wellbore is also provided herein.

CONTAINMENT SYSTEMS FOR SEALING A PASS-THROUGH IN A WELL, AND METHODS THEREFORE

A system formed to provide sealed passage through the wellhead for cables, lines, tubes or the like for down-hole applications. A unitary or split/wrap around hanger, packer or other apparatus having a main seal is formed to receive and provide sealed passage through of power and control cables, lines, conduits, or other threaded components having various configurations and applications. Also taught is a bowl cap, tubing adapter or other surface component with adapters to allow sealed pass-through utilizing a compression seal. Also provided is a tubing encapsulated wire for pass-through for power cables or the like as well as a compression fitting with right angle connector for providing a seal at the tubing adapter or the like, as well as a two-piece interlocking F.A.N. cover plate utilizing insertable inner plates to provide various cable penetration and other passage layouts, pressure ratings, and other specifications.

TUBING HANGER ALIGNMENT DEVICE

Systems and methods for landing a tubing hanger in a wellhead and then orienting a tree (or spool, or flowline connection body) relative to the tubing hanger while landing the tree on the wellhead are provided. This alignment is accomplished without the use of either a tubing spool or a BOP stack with an orientation pin. The tubing hanger alignment devices may be used to orientate the tree as the tree is landed so that the couplings and stabs between the tree and the tubing hanger line up with each other just at the moment of landing.
