The system further includes a landing profile formed on the head on an outer diameter of the head, the landing profile including a plurality of landing features forming a plurality of landing shoulders. The system includes a tag shoulder formed on the actuation ring, the tag shoulder arranged to contact a protrusion within the wellbore component to drive upward axial movement of the actuation ring along an axis, the upward axial movement being transferred to the arm to move the arm toward an activated position.
Self-locking packer carrier
A self-locking packer carrier includes an integrated locking mechanism that locks the packer carrier directly to the packer cone after the sealing element is fully set. The integrated locking mechanism may include one or more compression splines extending from a packer carrier base in a radially outward direction to engage a casing after the attached sealing element has created a fluid tight seal, and a tooth profile formed along an inner diameter of the packer carrier base to lock the packer carrier to the packer cone in response to a compression force transferred to the base via the splines. The integrated locking mechanism is designed to eliminate backlash on the liner hanger system, increase vibrational resistance, accommodate liner stretch, withstand pump-out loads, and tolerate liner movement while maintaining sealing integrity.
Hanger system
A system that includes a wellhead. The wellhead defines a bore. A hanger system is positioned within the wellhead. The hanger system includes a piston angled relative to a longitudinal axis of the bore. A first spring biases the piston in a first direction. The piston contacts a slip segment to couple the slip segment to a casing string.
HYBRID TWO PIECE PACKOFF ASSEMBLY
A method for sealing a wellhead assembly which is initially configured for use in performing a first operation and is subsequently configured for use in performing a second operation. The wellhead assembly in the initial configuration includes a first outer tubular member, a second outer tubular member which is mounted on the first outer tubular member, and an inner tubular member which is landed in the first outer tubular member. The wellhead assembly in the subsequent configuration includes the first outer tubular member, the inner tubular member which is landed in the first outer tubular member, and a third outer tubular member which is mounted on the first outer tubular member in place of the second outer tubular member. The method includes the steps of (a) providing a packoff assembly which includes a lower packoff that is releasably connected to an upper packoff, the lower packoff being configured to seal between the inner tubular member and the first outer tubular member and the upper packoff being configured to seal between the inner tubular member and the second outer tubular member; (b) releasably connecting an installation tool to the upper packoff; (c) using the installation tool, lowering the packoff assembly as a unit through the second outer tubular member until the lower packoff is positioned between the inner tubular member and the first outer tubular member and the upper packoff is positioned between the inner tubular member and the second outer tubular member; (d) using the installation tool, locking the lower packoff to the first outer tubular member to thereby secure the lower packoff in position between the inner tubular member and the first outer tubular member and the upper packoff in position between the inner tubular member and the second outer tubular member; (e) disconnecting the installation tool from the upper packoff; (f) after the first operation is performed, removing the second outer tubular member from the first outer tubular member; (g) removing the upper packoff from the lower packoff; and (h) mounting the third outer tubular member on the first outer tubular member. During this procedure, steps (c) and (d) are performed in a single trip, and the lower packoff remains locked in position between the inner tubular member and the first outer tubular member from step (d) through step (h).
Casing slip hanger retrieval tool system and method
A wellbore system includes a slip hanger arranged within a wellbore component, the slip hanger having a mechanical receptacle formed in a face of the slip hanger. The wellbore system also includes an adapter configured to couple to the slip hanger, the adapter having one or more engagement members arranged to engage the mechanical receptacle, wherein the one or more engagement members extend into the mechanical receptacle to secure the slip hanger to the adapter.
