Hybrid two piece packoff assembly
A packoff assembly for sealing between an inner tubular member and an outer tubular member has a lower packoff which is configured to seal between the inner and outer tubular members, an upper packoff which is configured to seal between the inner and outer tubular members above the lower packoff, the upper packoff being releasably connected to the lower packoff and, when connected to the lower packoff, being axially movable relative to the lower packoff between a first position and a second position, a latch ring which is supported on the lower packoff, the latch ring being radially expandable into a corresponding locking groove in the outer tubular member, and a locking mandrel which is operably engaged by the upper packoff such that upon axial movement of the upper packoff from the first position to the second position, the locking mandrel expands the latch ring into the locking groove to thereby lock the upper and lower packoffs in position between the inner and outer tubular members. With the lower packoff locked in position between the inner and outer tubular members, the upper packoff can be selectively removed from the packoff assembly by disconnecting the locking mandrel from the upper packoff and disconnecting the upper packoff from the lower packoff.
HANGER SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A system includes a hanger with a radially-outer surface with a hanger surface texture. The system also includes a sensor configured to detect vibrations induced by the hanger surface texture as the hanger moves through a housing of a wellhead. The system further includes a controller configured to receive signals indicative of the vibrations from the sensor and to process the signals to determine a position of the hanger within the housing of the wellhead.
Containment systems for sealing a pass-through in a well, and methods therefore
A system formed to provide sealed passage through the wellhead for cables, lines, tubes or the like for down-hole applications. A unitary or split/wrap around hanger, packer or other apparatus having a main seal is formed to receive and provide sealed passage through of power and control cables, lines, conduits, or other threaded components having various configurations and applications. A bowl cap, tubing adapter or other surface component with adapters is formed to allow sealed pass-through utilizing a compression seal. A tubing encapsulated wire for pass-through for power cables or the like as well as a compression fitting with right angle connector is configured to provide a seal at the tubing adapter or the like, as well as a two-piece interlocking F.A.N. cover plate utilizing insertable inner plates to provide various cable penetration and other passage layouts, pressure ratings, and other specifications.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR EXPANDABLE LANDING LOCKING SHOULDER
Embodiments of the present disclosure include a system for suspending a hanger within a wellbore component including an actuation ring circumferentially positioned about the hanger. The system also includes an arm removably coupled to the actuation ring, the arm extending longitudinally from the actuation ring and including a head at an end opposite the actuation ring. The system further includes a landing profile formed on the head on an outer diameter of the head, the landing profile including a plurality of landing features forming a plurality of landing shoulders. The system includes a tag shoulder formed on the actuation ring, the tag shoulder arranged to contact a protrusion within the wellbore component to drive upward axial movement of the actuation ring along an axis, the upward axial movement being transferred to the arm to move the arm toward an activated position.
DOWNHOLE TOOL AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLY
A downhole tool for a wellbore and method of assembly. Components of the tool include a load member, one or slip members, one or more compression members, and a sealing element between the compression members mounted on a mandrel. The components are designed to prevent pre-set of the tool in the wellbore and facilitate removal of the tool from the wellbore.
MULTI-LEVEL SLIP HANGER
A casing hanger and seal system for supporting a casing string in a hydrocarbon well. The hanger can have a deformable seal with an ability to transfer force through the seal to a lower portion of the hanger. The hanger can have multiple slips which engage a casing wall and support an upper casing string independent from the deformable seal such that changes in the forces being supported cannot disengage the seal when positioned.
Interchangeable packoff assembly for wellheads
A packoff for a wellhead includes a body configured to be positioned in an annulus between the wellhead and an inner tubular above a casing hanger supported in the wellhead, the body including a bore and a lower end, the bore and the lower end being configured to be positioned at least partially around the inner tubular. The lower end is configured to be spaced apart from the casing hanger. The packoff also includes a first load shoulder member configured to be removably connected to the lower end of the body and to engage a surface of the casing hanger so as to form a seal therewith.
CASING SLIP HANGER RETRIEVAL TOOL SYSTEM AND METHOD
A wellbore system includes a slip hanger arranged within a wellbore component, the slip hanger having a mechanical receptacle formed in a face of the slip hanger. The wellbore system also includes an adapter configured to couple to the slip hanger, the adapter having one or more engagement members arranged to engage the mechanical receptacle, wherein the one or more engagement members extend into the mechanical receptacle to secure the slip hanger to the adapter.
Snub friendly wellhead hanger
A method for snubbing a wellhead hanger into a wellhead is provided. In one embodiment, a snubbing method includes snubbing a tubing hanger into a wellhead housing from a snubbing unit. Snubbing the tubing hanger into the wellhead housing can include lowering the tubing hanger into a bore of the wellhead housing under pressure and allowing fluid in the bore to pass along an exterior of the tubing hanger to balance fluid pressure above and below the tubing hanger as the tubing hanger is lowered. The tubing hanger can be positioned at a location in the bore of the wellhead housing, which can be elastically deformed to grip and secure the tubing hanger at the location in the bore. Additional methods, systems, and devices are also disclosed.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF A WELL CASING
This disclosure relates to a system and method for detecting structural integrity of a well casing. The system may detect casing structural integrity events. The casing structural integrity events may include structural failures of the casing and/or potential structural failures of the casing. The well casing may be drilled and/or otherwise embedded into a geologic structure. The well casing may be subject to geologic forces generated by the geologic structure. Unplanned and/or unexpected forces and/or movement may pose a risk to the structural integrity of the casing. Forces and/or movement of sufficient magnitude may result in damage to and/or destruction of the casing. Damage to and/or destruction of the casing may cause a loss of the natural resources being extracted via the well associated with the well casing, contamination of areas surrounding the well, undesirable surface expression, and/or other negative effects.
