A plug for use in a cementing operation in a borehole includes a tail segment and a nose segment separate from the tail segment. The plug also includes a coupler configured to couple the tail segment to the nose segment, in which the tail segment is movable with respect to the nose segment.

SCHEDULING TREATMENT FLUID PLACEMENT AND FLUID DIVERSION IN A SUBTERRANEAN FORMATION

Methods, systems, and computer program products for generating a schedule for fluid placement. A computer-implemented method may include determining, for each zone of a plurality of zones of a treatment interval to be treated by the fluids placement system, a criterion value based on a heterogeneity parameter of the zone, sorting the zones into an ordered sequence based on the criterion value associated with each zone, and generating a schedule that designates an order of treating the zones in accordance with the order of the sequence.

Telemetry operated tools for cementing a liner string

A liner deployment assembly (LDA) for use in a wellbore includes: a crossover tool. The crossover tool includes: a seal for engaging a tubular string cemented into the wellbore; a tubular housing carrying the seal and having bypass ports straddling the seal; a mandrel having a bore therethrough and a port in fluid communication with the mandrel bore, the mandrel movable relative to the housing between a bore position where the mandrel port is isolated from the bypass ports and a bypass position where the mandrel port is aligned with one of the bypass ports; a bypass chamber formed between the housing and the mandrel and extending above and below the seal; and a control module. The control module includes: an electronics package; and an actuator in communication with the electronics package and operable to move the mandrel between the positions.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR STAGE CEMENTING

A stage cementing tool includes a top sub-assembly; a bottom sub-assembly; a housing that connects the top and bottom sub-assembly and includes a bore therethrough from the top sub-assembly to the bottom sub-assembly, the housing including a plurality of ports radially arranged in the housing, each port including a fluid path between an interior radial surface of the housing and an outer radial surface of the housing; at least one sleeve that rides on a portion of the housing; and a controller mounted in the housing and configured to control the sleeve to adjust, based on receipt of a command to the controller from the terranean surface, between a first position such that the sleeve mandrel decouples fluid communication from the bore to an exterior of the housing through the fluid paths and a second position such that the sleeve mandrel fluidly couples the bore with the exterior of the housing through the fluid paths.

Embodiments relate to methods and devices for improved liner drill-in operations. Specifically, embodiments may provide the capability to selectively allow rotation of the liner, even once a packer has been set. Typical embodiments might couple a port sealing collar (that can selectively seal or open a port in the liner) to a selectively lockable swivel joint, for example.

ROTATING STAGE COLLAR

The disclosed embodiments include a rotating stage collar. The rotating stage collar includes an upper collar configured to couple to a first length of tubular, a lower collar configured to couple to a second length of tubular, and an inner sleeve disposed within the upper collar and the lower collar, wherein the upper collar and the lower collar are rotationally fixed to one another when the inner sleeve is in a first position within the upper collar and the lower collar, wherein the upper collar and the lower collar are rotationally independent of one another when the inner sleeve is in a second position within the upper collar and the lower collar, and wherein the second position is axially beneath the first position relative to a longitudinal axis of the rotating stage collar when the rotating stage collar is positioned within a wellbore.

DEVICE FOR CEMENTING A PIPE INTO A BOREHOLE WELL AND CORRESPONDING CEMENTATION METHOD
20180202258 · 2018-07-19 ·

A device is provided for cementing a casing in a well bore. The device includes, on the well head side, a shutter disposed within the casing that controls opening and closing of at least one cementing aperture. The at least one cementing aperture makes an interior of the casing communicate with an annular space situated between an external face of the casing and an internal wall of the well. The device also includes, on the well bottom side, a packer having two expandable liners mounted along the external face of the casing and at least one communication passage between an exterior of the first external liner and the annular volume. The at least one communication passage is situated on the packer side orientated towards the well bottom.

CASING FLOAT TOOL

A rupture disc assembly and a float tool incorporating the rupture disc assembly is disclosed. The rupture disc assembly may include a rupture disc assembly comprising a rupture disc, an upper tubular portion and a lower tubular portion, and a securing mechanism for holding the rupture disc between the upper and lower tubular portions. A float tool for creating a buoyant chamber in a casing string may include the rupture disc assembly and a sealing device for sealing the lower end of the casing string, the buoyant, sealed chamber may be created there between. In operation, applied fluid pressure causes the rupture disc to move downward. The rupture disc may be shattered by contact with a surface on the lower tubular portion. Full casing internal diameter may be restored in the region where the rupture disc formerly sealed the casing.

Pump out stage cementing system

Embodiments presented provide for an apparatus that provides a dislodgable plug seat that is used to capture a cement wiper plug for wellbore cementing operations. The apparatus further includes a collar having a ball seat and a closing sleeve configured to be shifted from an open position to a closed position. In the open position, a fluid pathway between an interior volume and a wellbore annulus is unblocked, and in the closed position the fluid pathway is blocked. A split ring is shiftable with the closing sleeve between a retained configuration when the closing sleeve is in the open position and an expanded configuration when the closing sleeve is in the closed position. The split ring holds the dislodgable plug seat in place within the body in the retained configuration and releases the dislodgable plug seat in the expanded configuration.
