NOVEL ROD-PUMP CONTROLLER
A rod-pump control device is disclosed. The rod-pump control device uses AMP (current) measurements for electric units, fuel or air usage for gas units, and can use pressure for either unit. The AMP/fuel/air sensors work as the primary trigger to indicate a pump-off condition on an oil and gas well. These sensors can be used as stand-alone triggers or in conjunction with other sensors to more accurately monitor pump efficiency. When the pump-controller starts to indicate an inefficient pump condition, it will turn the pump off by removing power from the electric motor. For gas powered units, the controller will remove power to disengage an electric clutch or send a signal to an engine controller to stop. An adjustable algorithm will use percentage change of off time, dependent on actual run time compared to a user definable target time to keep the pump operating at peak efficiency.
SLIDING STANDOFF ASSEMBLY
Embodiments of the present invention disclose a standoff assembly for a sucker rod used for sucker rod pumps. The assembly includes an annulus body, a hole that passes through the annulus body, the hole configured to permit a sucker rod to translate through the hole, a sliding material component located along the surface of the hole, and a temporary component; wherein upon elimination of the temporary component, the sliding material component interacts with the sucker rod to reduce sliding friction as the sucker rod translates through the assembly.
POLISH ROD LEVELING ASSEMBLY
A leveling assembly that is capable of lubrication without separating the individual leveling plates. The leveling assembly comprising: a first plate having a convex curved surface having a curvature, the first plate defining a central bore therethrough; a second plate having a concave curved surface shaped to mate with the convex curved surface; the second plate defining a central bore therethrough. One of the first or second plates defines a lubrication passageway extending from a first opening on an exterior surface thereof to a second opening on the curved surface, and a lubrication groove extending from the second opening to the central bore of the plate with the lubrication passageway.
Apparatus and methods for counterbalancing a pumping unit
Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to apparatus and methods for counterbalancing a pumping unit. One embodiment of the present disclosure provides a method for operation a pumping unit. The method includes measuring an orientation of a component and one or more parameters of the pumping unit while running the pumping unit, and determining an imbalance of the pumping unit according to the measured orientation and one or more parameters.
Sucker rod guides
A sucker rod guide having low friction and high wear resistance is disclosed herein, along with a fluid extraction system comprising the same. At least a part of the exterior surface of the sucker rod guide is formed from a cold worked and spinodally-hardenable or spinodally-hardened copper alloy comprising from about 5 to about 20 wt % nickel, and from about 5 to about 10 wt % tin, the remaining balance being copper, and having a 0.2% offset yield strength of at least 75 ksi. The guide includes a smoothbore adapted to surround and engage the surface of a sucker rod. The exterior surface of the guide can include grooves miming between the two ends. In particular embodiments, the guide is made by joining together two identical guide segments. In other embodiments, the guide is a single integral piece molded around a sucker rod.
MARGINAL WELL MONITORING AND CONTROL SYSTEMS AND METHODS
The present invention relates to systems and methods for operating and controlling a well to keep the well alive so that the well will not need to be reworked to continue increased production. The system for operating the well generally includes a control and communications module having a well operation controller that connects with a plurality of sensors required to monitor and control the site, a plurality of sensors that measures pressure, amperage, tank level, and a server that stores and processes the information collected by the control and communications module.
Tandem motor linear rod pump
A method for operating a tandem motor linear rod pumping apparatus that includes first and second linear mechanical actuator systems each having a motor, and also includes a rod for a sucker-rod pump. The method calls for constructing the first and second linear mechanical actuator systems to operate within a single housing, and simultaneously operating each of the two motors in a manner that imparts reciprocating vertical motion to respective-vertically movable members of the first and second linear mechanical actuator systems. Each motor has a reversibly rotatable element that is operatively connected to the vertically-movable member of its respective linear mechanical actuator system, thus establishing a fixed relationship between the rotational position of the rotatable element and the vertical position of its respective vertically-movable member. The simultaneous operation of the two motors imparts a reciprocating vertical motion to the pump rod of the sucker-rod pump.
Sealing tubing anchor catcher
A production tool that can aid in the operation of a producing oil/gas well is provided. In use, the tool is connected to production tubing and disposed in a wellbore, for example, below a pump. The tool includes an anchoring body that anchors the production tubing to a casing lining the wellbore. The tool also includes one or more sealing elements that create a seal with the casing.
STABILIZER FOR INHIBITING SUCKER ROD BUCKLING DURING COMPRESSION MOMENTS IN ARTIFICIAL LIFT WELLS
A helical solid profile attached and originating from the outer diameter of a composite or steel sucker rod and extending approximately to the inner diameter of the production tubing, running axially along the sucker rod body and affixed to it for reinforcement and stabilization of the sucker rod tension member body in axial alignment to the central axis of the production tubing which the sucker rod member is housed in, whereas the helical solid profile is made of material which is for acceptable use within the production system environment, the helical solid profile purpose being to control and reduce the sucker rod's deflection during compressive moments, extending the life of the sucker rod or reduction in stress and erratic buckling cycles.
Automated sucker rod spacing device and associated methods
An automated sucker rod spacing device comprising a housing, a screw set within the housing and connected to a sucker rod string via a polished rod, a nut which is in threaded engagement with the screw, a means to transmit a rotation force to the nut, wherein the rotation of the nut can lower or raise the screw and thus lower or raise the sucker rod string. The device can be used to stop tagging, ensure full pump fillage, and avoid gas lock.
