In one embodiment, pressure waves in production fluid produced by the rod pump may be used to determine one or more operating states of the rod pump. The one or more operating states of the rod pump may be used by a user to diagnose or monitor the operation of the rod pump.

Downhole pump gas eliminating seating nipple system
11028683 · 2021-06-08 · ·

A downhole pump gas eliminating seating nipple system for preventing and eliminating the collection of gas such as a foam barrier during operations of a downhole pump assembly. The downhole pump gas eliminating seating nipple system generally includes a seating nipple including an upper end, a lower end, and a channel extending between the upper and lower ends. The channel includes a beveled edge below the upper end and a locking lip above the lower end. A plurality of upper gas eliminators are positioned below the beveled edge. A plurality of lower gas eliminators are positioned below the locking lip. A plurality of central gas eliminators are positioned between the upper and lower gas eliminators. Each of the gas eliminators is angled upwardly from inlet to outlet so as to prevent accumulation of gasses within or below the seating nipple, which can lead to gas locking and/or gas interference.

Controlling, Monitoring, and Optimizing Production from Multiple Oil and Gas Pumps

A single pump control system monitors and controls oil and gas production operations at multiple wells. The pump control system analyzes operation data from multiple well pumps to independently and concurrently control operation of each well pump. The system obtains the operation data from sensors mounted at suitable locations around the wells. The data is then processed by pump control algorithms in the pump control system, each control algorithm applicable to and operable on a separate well pump. The pump control algorithms determine whether a well pump should be started, stopped, continue to run, and an optimal speed at which each running pump should run to maintain a cost-effective operation. Such an arrangement allows a single pump control system to automatically and independently control multiple different well pumps to optimize oil and gas production at each well.

TOOL AND METHOD FOR USE IN SUPPORTING A SUCKER ROD STRING IN AN OIL OR GAS WELL

A tool for use in suspending operation of an oil or gas well driven by an artificial lift with a polished rod connected to a sucker rod in a tubing string. The tool includes a body having a lower narrow portion dimensioned to fit within the interior cavity of a tubing string inlet or an upper extension thereof, and an upper wide diameter portion defining a substantially horizontal landing surface dimensioned to rest upon the top edge of the tubing string inlet or the upper extension thereof. The tool includes one or more sucker rod-engaging structures and one or more longitudinal slots extending through the lower narrow portion and the upper wide diameter portion to allow passage of fluid or gas through the tool when the tool is supported on the top edge of the tubing string inlet or the upper extension thereof.

PUMPING UNIT BASES WITH DRIVEN PILES

Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to a pumping unit base and methods for operating with the pumping unit base. The pumping unit base may include a plurality of driven piles installed in the ground, and a metal platform fixedly attached to the plurality of driven piles, wherein the metal platform is positioned above the ground. The metal platform may be removed from the driven piles and reinstalled to the driven piles.

Tandem motor linear rod pump

An oil pumping system to carry oil from an oil sump in a pump housing to an internal oil reservoir in another portion of the pump housing. A top plate is attached to a pump rod and moves in accordance with a reciprocating motion of the pump rod. A bottom plate is below the top plate. A pump mechanism, disposed between the top plate and bottom plate, includes a valve seat that contacts the bottom plate, and an upper portion that contacts the top plate. A first biasing element is configured to urge the valve seat upward away from the bottom plate. A second biasing element is configured to urge the plunger upward away from the valve seat. Upward movement of the pump rod allows oil to flow into the pump mechanism. Downward movement of the pump rod causes the bottom of the valve seat to seal against the bottom plate.

Sucker rods include end fittings having an outer wedge portion proximate to an open end, an inner wedge portion proximate to a closed end, and an intermediate wedge portion between the outer and inner wedges. Each wedge includes a leading edge, a trailing edge, and an angle between the leading and trailing edges. The triangular configuration, length of the leading edge, the length of the trailing edge, and size of the angle in each wedge portion cause distribution of force, such that compressive forces distributed to the rod proximate the closed end exceed compressive forces distributed to the rod proximate the open end. An automated installation procedure installs the end fitting through the use of multiple chucks, positioned by servo motors along a fitting table.
