FLAME PROTECTION APPARATUS FOR A BURNER, PLATE FIN FOR SUCH A FLAME PROTECTION APPARATUS AND DRYING DRUM COMPRISING SUCH A FLAME PROTECTION APPARATUS
A flame protection apparatus for a burner, in particular in a drying drum, in particular in an asphalt facility, has a central longitudinal axis and a plurality of plate fins which are arranged in a circumferential arrangement in the circumferential direction with respect to the central longitudinal axis, wherein plate fins that are arranged adjacent to one another in the circumferential direction are sealed by means of a circumferential gap seal.
RECYCLED ASPHALT BAGHOUSE APPARATUS
A baghouse apparatus for removing particulates from a 100% recycled asphalt pavement dryer exhaust air stream includes a drop out zone section having a water spray operable to initially drench an incoming air exhaust stream with water droplets while increasing air stream velocity, then slow the air stream velocity to cause drop out of particulates >1000 m from the slowed waste air stream, and collect the particulates dropped out of the waste air exhaust stream. The apparatus also includes a cyclonic scrubber section for further cooling the waste air exhaust stream while subjected the stream to a further water spray to condense aerosol vapor into droplets, a prefilter filtration section operable to collect and remove condensed aerosol droplets from the waste air stream; and a coalescing filtration section operable to remove 99% of remaining particulates from the waste air stream before discharge of the air stream to atmosphere.
RECYCLED ASPHALT PRODUCTION APPARATUS
An apparatus for producing hot mix asphalt from 100% recycled pavement aggregates includes a rotatable inclined drum having a central axis and having a first and second end. A heat source spaced from one of the ends introduces hot gas into the drum via one of the first and second ends. An aggregate supply introduces aggregate into the drum through one of the first and second ends. A RAP collar spaced from the ends and positioned around the drum is used to introduce sand through openings beneath the collar into the drum as the drum is rotated. The RAP collar has an annular heat and smoke shield fastened around the drum for minimizing escape of hot gas from the drum openings beneath the RAP collar. The drum has replaceable buckets within the openings for receiving, holding and distributing sand into the drum as the drum rotates about its axis.
PORTABLE PAVING MATERIAL MIXING APPARATUS
A portable paving material mixing apparatus includes a material hopper, a rotatable mixing drum, and a discharge bed, all configured to be supported on a vehicle trailer. A burner heats material within the mixing drum. Embodiments of the mixing apparatus include a rejuvenator application system suitable for hot mix asphalt, cold mix asphalt, hot in-place recycling, and asphalt based concrete mixing. The apparatus rapidly processes a batch of material sufficient to fill 5-7 potholes, has sufficient carrying capacity to process multiple mixer batches, and stores prepared material in the discharge bed while the next batch is being prepared in the mixing drum. The apparatus enables a more efficient, less equipment-intensive paving repair process without the need for a separate millings loader or hot box.
