APPLICATOR
An applicator (100) comprising an elongated hollow body (120) comprising a distal portion (123), a proximal portion (124) having an open end, an exterior surface (127), an interior surface (126), and a filter (135). The interior surface of the applicator defines an internal chamber suitable for receiving an ampoule (160) formed of a frangible material located in the internal chamber proximal to the filter. A spacer (185) having a distal end and a proximal end is provided, and a cap (180) having a proximal portion, a distal portion, an exterior surface, and an interior surface is provided that attaches to the open end of the applicator and maintains the ampoule and spacer in their respective desired positions. The applicator comprises a head (140) including an absorbent component (110) that is capable of absorbing the contents of the frangible ampoule and facilitates applying the contents to the desired surface.
FLEXIBLE APPLICATOR HANDLE REGION
An applicator (100) including a hollow body (110), the hollow body including a distal portion (112), a proximal portion (114), an exterior surface (118), an interior surface (116), and an activation region (120), where the hollow body includes at least two longitudinal grooves (122) on at least one of the exterior surface and the interior surface in the activation region of the applicator, and where the hollow body has a first radial groove (124) in the activation region that is on at least one of the exterior surface or the interior surface. The applicator includes a frangible ampoule (160) inside the hollow body, the frangible ampoule configured to contain a solution. The applicator may include a head (140) having an absorbent component (150) capable of absorbing the contents of the frangible ampoule when the ampoule is fractured and can aid in application of the ampoule contents to the desired surface.
Liquid dermatological agent dispensing device
A dispensing device includes a container defining a reservoir containing a liquid and a porous applicator for dispensing the liquid. Another dispensing device includes two containers attached to each other, where the first container defines a reservoir containing a first liquid and a porous applicator for dispensing liquid and the second container contains a second liquid that may be dispensed via application of a force.
Wound therapy system with wound volume estimation
A wound therapy system includes a negative pressure circuit configured to apply negative pressure to a wound, a pump fluidly coupled to the negative pressure circuit and operable to control the negative pressure within the negative pressure circuit, a pressure sensor configured to measure the negative pressure within the negative pressure circuit or at the wound and a controller communicably coupled to the pump and the pressure sensor. The controller is configured to execute a pressure testing procedure including applying a pressure stimulus to the negative pressure circuit, observe a dynamic pressure response of the negative pressure circuit to the pressure stimulus using pressure measurements recorded by the pressure sensor, and estimate a wound volume of the wound based on the dynamic pressure response.
DEVICE FOR APPLYING LIQUID MEDICAL SUBSTANCES
A device (1) for the application of liquid medical substances (100) comprises a main body (2) extending around a longitudinal axis (X) and comprising a housing portion (3) at a first open end (4) and a delivery portion (5) at a second open end (6) which is opposite the first (4); a hermetically sealed cartridge reservoir (7) containing a liquid medical substance (100); a perforating element (8) disposed inside the main body (2) in a position falling between the housing portion (3) and the delivery portion (5) and such as to achieve the perforation of one end of the cartridge reservoir (7). The perforating element (8) has a tubular shape and comprises, in a central portion thereof, a cylindrical conduit (12) having a cutting edge (14) faced towards the housing portion (3).
Dispensing applicator for fluids
A liquid dispensing applicator may include a liquid source for housing a liquid, the liquid source having a first end and a second end, the second end being closed; a swab member for dispensing said liquid, the swab member being disposed at the first end; and at least one capillary member being in fluid communication with the liquid source, the capillary tube directing fluid out from the liquid source onto an exterior of the swab member upon application of pressure to the liquid source. A liquid dispensing applicator may also include an applicator tip fluidically connected to the liquid source including a frangible juncture and a tongue member coupled to the frangible junction, application of force to the tongue member causing the frangible junction to fracture while remaining attached to the tongue member, resulting in at least one aperture to form through which liquid from the liquid source is dischargeable.
Nitric oxide therapies
A method for delivering nitric oxide therapy to a subject can include administering a composition including a nitric-oxide releasing agent and silica to the subject and releasing a therapeutic amount of nitric oxide from the composition.
SAFETY FLUID DISPENSER
An apparatus that includes a container portion and a coupler portion. The container and coupler are, in one embodiment, mated via an adapter that includes a one-way valve. The coupler includes a second one-way valve. In use, a fluid source, such as a vial, is connected to the coupler. An air source, such as a syringe is also connected to the coupler. Air from the syringe is introduced to the vial via the second one-way valve. The second one-way valve prevents fluid from the vial from being drawn into the syringe. Introduction of air from the syringe into the vial forces fluid from the vial into the container via the first one-way valve. The first one-way valve prevents the fluid from escaping the container.
Needle Penetration Preparation Device And Related Systems And Methods
Disclosed herein are various needle penetration preparation devices and methods in which each of the devices have a skin marking mechanism at one end of the device body, a sterilization applicator at another end of the device body, and a compromisable sterilization solution reservoir adjacent to the sterilization applicator.
