Dispenser actuator assembly

A dispenser actuator assembly (100) actuates a dispenser (10). The dispenser (10) is a plastic ampoule (10) having a container (48) having an outer wall (50) and membrane (52) collectively defining a first chamber (54) containing a flowable material (M). The membrane (52) has a weld seam (56). The actuator assembly (100) has a base member (102) configured to mount on the container (48). A fracturing mechanism (116) is operably connected to the base member (102). The fracturing mechanism (116) has a first extending member (132a) and a second extending member (132b), the first extending member (132a) and the second extending member (132b) positioned on the base member (102) in opposed relation. Each extending member (132a,132b) has a projection (150a,150b) positioned proximate the membrane (52). In response to deflection of the extending members (132a,132b) towards one another, the projections (150a,150b) are configured to deflect the outer wall (50) proximate the membrane (52) wherein the weld seam (56) fractures to create an opening through the membrane (56) to allow the flowable material (M) to pass therethrough.

Antiseptic applicator

An applicator assembly may include a body having a proximal end portion and a distal end portion, an actuator operatively coupled to the body, a container disposed within the body, an application member attached to the distal end portion, and a valve disposed between the container and the application member. Actuation of the actuator opens the valve and places the interior of the container in fluid communication with the application member by way of a compressive force applied to the body. A method of applying a solution to a surface may include actuating the actuator, wherein actuation of the actuator applies a compressive force to the body that opens the valve and places the interior of the container in fluid communication with the application member, and contacting the application member to the surface, thereby applying the solution to the surface.

A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PREPPING LIQUID
20220040462 · 2022-02-10 ·

The system comprises of a fluid container, a replaceable applicator head and a compatible, viscous antiseptic solution. The primary advantage is substantially drip free application. The system is non-vented and non-collapsible. The fluid container is non-compressible and comprises a prepping solution, a threaded spout and a container seal. The applicator head consists of a body to which a foam pad is attached and a channel through which the solution flows into the foam when the applicator head is connected to the fluid container. The applicator head when fixed onto the fluid container breaks the seal and creates a continuous channel that is non-vented for the solution to flow into the foam pad.

WOUND THERAPY SYSTEM WITH WOUND VOLUME ESTIMATION
20210401629 · 2021-12-30 ·

A wound therapy system includes a negative pressure circuit configured to apply negative pressure to a wound, a pump fluidly coupled to the negative pressure circuit and operable to control the negative pressure within the negative pressure circuit, a pressure sensor configured to measure the negative pressure within the negative pressure circuit or at the wound and a controller communicably coupled to the pump and the pressure sensor. The controller is configured to execute a pressure testing procedure including applying a pressure stimulus to the negative pressure circuit, observe a dynamic pressure response of the negative pressure circuit to the pressure stimulus using pressure measurements recorded by the pressure sensor, and estimate a wound volume of the wound based on the dynamic pressure response.

DERMAL PATCHES AND GLASS SWABS FOR APPLICATION OF TOPICAL IMMUNOSENSITIZERS
20210393932 · 2021-12-23 ·

Unit dosage forms, devices, and kits for topical delivery of topical immunosensitizers are provided. These include dermal patches, glass swabs, and kits containing a dermal patch and a glass swab. Among other advantages, the unit dosage forms, devices, and kits presented herein deliver a more consistent and controlled volume of drug solution, prevent underdosing and overdosing, prevent or discourage repeat dosing, and provide a more consistent skin area to which the drug solution is applied.

Recloseable swab applicator

An improved two-part swab applicator is provided, having a handle section and a receptacle section that are engaged through coupling and an end cap. A stem having a swab attached at one end is encompassed by both sections with the swab nesting within the receptacle section. The receptacle section has a hollow body and a plurality of ribs on the body to prevent the applicator from rolling and the liquid from spilling. The receptacle section may also have a collar with one or more notches to prevent rolling of the receptacle section. The end cap may have a collar with one or more notches that prevent the handle section and/or the applicator from rolling and catches any drips of the liquid when the swab is removed for use. The end cap also has a plurality of ribs on its body that prevents the applicator from rolling. The handle and receptacle sections nest in each other with a snug fit and mate and decouple with a twisting or rotating action of the end cap that also serves as a drip shield preventing the liquid from dripping. When connected, any liquid contained in the receptacle section is securely air sealed by the snug contact of the receptacle and handle sections. The swab may be impregnated with a medicine or liquid. Alternatively, the swab may be sterile and is used to collect a tissue or excretion sample from humans or animals. After use, the swab may be returned to the receptacle section and the air-tight seal reformed for sanitary disposal or further transport for analysis of the collected sample. The swab may be used on an exterior part or body cavity of a human or an animal.

Provided is a patch including at least one pressure-absorbing member, the pressure absorbing member formed of a resilient material and having at least a first surface, the at least first surface is configured with a plurality of projections extending therefrom and a plurality of channels crossing one another at a plurality of intersections, an outermost surface of said plurality of projections lies along a projections plane of the pressure-absorbing member, the projections being deformable when subjected to pressure applied to the patch, so as to absorb at least some of the applied pressure.

Insect Repellent and Sunscreen Applicator
20220184363 · 2022-06-16 ·

A portable applicator for uniformly applying insect repellent or sunscreen upon human skin. A jar-like container normally holds the liquid contents. The container is sealed by a circular lid. The lid supports a downwardly-projecting sponge wiper that is saturated with liquid for subsequent topical application. The underside of the lid has a glue area surrounded by a peripheral ring for securing the wiper, and channels for directing fluid. A wringer-saturator, in the form of a foraminous partition, is disposed between the applicator contents and the wiper. When the applicator is closed, the wiper is compressed slightly by contact with the wringer-saturator. As the lid is removed from the container, the wiper will expand slightly, absorbing and holding liquid. When the lid is reattached, the wiper is compressed slightly against the wringer-saturator and liquid is partially expelled. The wiper has a fiberglass fabric covering for preventing dripping and easing topical application.
