An insulated panel system includes a joint disposed between two insulated panels. The joint has a male portion and a female portion. The female portion has a flange, sidewalls, and a base that can be secured to an existing structure. The male portion includes a top plate with sealing sides that rest against the face of the insulated panel when inserted into the female portion. The sealing sides prevent warm air and/or moisture from ingress into a refrigerated space defined by the insulated panels. Also disclosed is a sealing joint for insulated structural panels.

A structural insulated building unit is provided for constructing a building. The structural insulated building unit includes an insulating core, first and second cementitious panels, and a connecting portion. The insulating core is defined by multiple sides and opposing first and second faces. The first and second cementitious panels are coupled to the first and second faces of the insulating core. The connecting portion is provided on one of the sides of the insulating core, and aligns the structural insulated building unit with an adjacent structural insulated building unit having a complementary connecting portion when constructing a building.

System and Method for an Adjustable Locking Mechanism for Insulated Panels

An adjustable panel locking mechanism is disposed in a slot of a structural member of the panel. A cam-strike or latch is disposed through the slot, over a lock plate, and both are covered by a cover plate. When the panel is assembled, and expanding foam is injected into a volume created by a plurality of structural members and exterior sheathing, the foam expands to the cover plate, which exerts a pressure or force on the cam-strike or latch disposed through the slot. The cam-strike or latch is then adjustable based on the friction between the lock plate and the cover plate with the base of the cam-strike or latch there between.

Wall system

A modular wall comprising at least two wall panels, each comprising first and second vertical edges, a top edge and a bottom edge. A leg is connectable to a wall panel, configured to apply a vertical force on the wall panel. The first and second vertical edges are shaped to form a male-female connection between adjacent wall panels. Adjacent wall panels are joined together using adhesive. Each vertical edge is provided with cooperating elements, which in use engage with a cooperating element on an adjacent wall panel to pull the two wall panels together whilst the adhesive cures.

Relocatable habitat unit

A construction set and method for assembling a single-level Relocatable Habitat Unit (RHU) requiring a plurality of flat panels that include male (M) and female (F) lock connectors located on their respective peripheries and a frame constructed from a plurality vertical corner posts and horizontal beams. The panels are a wall panel, a ceiling panel, or a floor panel. The entire RHU can be assembled using a single, hand-operated tool to engage a selected M lock with a selected F lock in addition to other securing hardware. First the floor is established and leveled. Next, starting at a corner, the walls are erected around the floor using vertical corner posts and horizontal beams. Finally, the roof is created. The hand-operated tool is used for each task.

EXPANDABLE BUILDING SYSTEMS

The present disclosure describes an expandable residential dwelling unit and a set of modular, prefabricated components which can be built offsite, shipped to site, and assembled. The prefabricated components and expandable dwelling unit enable faster, and more cost effective method for adding additional square footage onto a residential dwelling unit. These prefabricated wall components attach to the existing dwelling unit via mechanical connections that maintain a constant thermal and water barrier. Multiple preferred aspects are described herein.
