20180023290 · 2018-01-25 ·

A modular panel arrangement for erecting a prefabricated room, the panel includes inner and outer planar skins, an insulated core, and an interior chamber isolated from said insulated core, wherein said interior chamber has an inlet opening and an outlet opening so that air can flow into said panel through said inlet opening, through said interior chamber and out of said panel through said outlet opening.

Panel fasteners

A panel fastener (20) is disclosed having a hook and cam assembly (21). The fastener has a metallic casing 23 comprised of two sidewalls (24) formed with a boss (27) inwardly indented from the main sidewall portion through which a cam shaft (28) is journaled. The boss (27) is formed as a circular or annular recess or depression having an inwardly extending boss sidewall 51 extending inwardly from the sidewalls (24) and extending to an end portion or end wall (52) having a cylindrical terminal end or bearing surface (53). The bearing surface is located along a cylinder substantially coaxially aligned with the cam shaft and substantially normal to the plane (55) of the outer surface of the adjacent portion of the casing sidewall.

SYSTEMS, METHODS, APPARATUS, AND COMPOSITIONS FOR BUILDING MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION

A structural insulated building unit is provided for constructing a building. The structural insulated building unit includes an insulating core, first and second cementitious panels, and a connecting portion. The insulating core is defined by multiple sides and opposing first and second faces. The first and second cementitious panels are coupled to the first and second faces of the insulating core. The connecting portion is provided on one of the sides of the insulating core, and aligns the structural insulated building unit with an adjacent structural insulated building unit having a complementary connecting portion when constructing a building.

A field-deployable construction set for the assembly of a Relocatable Habitat Unit (RHU) and associated panels, used for simulating real world environments without costly construction expenses. The various panels, supports, and accessories used to construct an RHU may be interchangeable and readily modified in the field with minimal tools, further providing significant options for reconfiguration of floor, ceiling, and wall panels without having to disassemble the structure. The exterior of the lightweight panels may be customizable to provide a realistic environment for high quality training in a versatile system that is deployable by truck or aircraft and can be assembled with only a single tool. The RHU or components thereof may simulate a real building structure both visually and in a non-visual domain such as via electromagnetic sensors.

Aspects of the present disclosure generally pertain to Relocatable Habitat Units (RHUs) for use as a rapidly deployable shelter. More particularly, the present application pertains to an RHU that can be assembled, reconfigured and disassembled on-site, using panels that can be maneuvered, positioned and interconnected by two men. Aspects of the present disclosure also pertain to field-deployable construction sets for the assembly of a RHU and associated panels, used for simulating real world environments without costly construction expenses. The RHU or components thereof may simulate a real building structure both visually and in a non-visual domain such as via electromagnetic sensors. Aspects of the present disclosure also generally pertain to a deployable structure for human use. Aspects of the present disclosure are directed toward a rapidly deployable habitat, for use where providing traditional structures is not an option or otherwise impractical.

A fastening system for joining a first structural member end-on to a second structural member is provided. The fastening system includes a latching device comprising at least one eccentric rotatable part and at least one generally S shaped latch spring hook joined to the rotatable part, and a receiver having at least one hole configured to receive a free end of the latch spring hook. The latching device is fixed to an end of a first structural member and the receiver is fixed to a side of a second structural member. The first structural member may be joined end-on to the second structural member by positioning the latching device on the first structural member adjacent to the receiver of the second structural member and rotating the rotatable part to cause the free end of the latch spring hook to engage the hole in the receiver. Further rotation of the eccentric rotatable part causes the latch spring hook to exert a pulling force, thereby joining the structural members together.
