Needle-less connector

A needle-less connector includes a housing having a drug solution flow path, and an elastic valve body. An end surface of the housing on a side of a tip end opening of the drug solution flow path constitutes a protruding support surface whose center section protrudes and slopes in a direction of a foot, and the elastic valve body is superposed onto the protruding support surface in a state of close contact therewith. Insertion of a male luer into a slit of the elastic valve body causes expanding deformation of the elastic valve body along the protruding support surface. A flexion section is formed on a sloped surface of the protruding support surface, and the sloped surface has different tilt angles on a foot section side and on a crest section side of the flexion section.

Septum arrangement

Disclosed is septum arrangement having a pierceable septum. The pierceable septum has first and second surfaces positioned opposite to one another and a peripheral surface. A compression element has at least two compression members that partially or fully surround the peripheral surface and has at least two gripping members. Each compression member is connected to at least one gripping member, and the gripping members extend from the compression members towards a common axis (A) which intersects the first surface. A resilient element exerts a biasing force on the pierceable septum that is directed towards the common axis (A). The gripping members define an aperture between them such that introduction of a needle into the aperture exerts a force on the gripping members that counteracts the biasing force and moves the gripping members apart from each other.

The discrete portions can include a mating surface to interface with mating surfaces of other discrete portions. The mating surface can include a surface topology including raised portions and depressions. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Septum housing

A catheter assembly may include a catheter adapter, a septum housing, and a septum. The catheter adapter may include a distal end, a proximal end, an inner wall extending between the distal end and the proximal end, and a lumen formed by the inner wall. The septum housing may include one or more protrusions and may be secured to the inner wall by one or more of the following: an interference fit between the one or more protrusions and the inner wall, a snap fit between the one or more protrusions and the inner wall, and bonding between the one or more protrusions and the inner wall. The septum may be at least partially disposed within the septum housing and configured to at least substantially seal the lumen.

Connector and infusion set

A connector includes an elastic valve body that includes a top face on which a slit is formed and a bottom face opposite the top face; and a holding section that is in contact with the top face and the bottom face of the elastic valve body and holds the elastic valve body. The holding section surrounds the slit, and the elastic valve body includes a peripheral section that is positioned outward of a portion of the elastic valve body that is held by the holding section. The elastic valve body and the holding section are configured such that a volume of the peripheral section in a state in which the elastic valve body is held by the holding section is larger than a volume of the peripheral section in a state in which the elastic valve body is not held by the holding section.

Coupling component and fluid coupling

The invention relates to a coupling component for a fluid coupling (1) for releasably connecting fluid-conveying components, in particular fluid-conveying components in medical equipment, wherein the coupling component comprises a coupling housing (14) through which a fluid channel (17) passes in regions and which is provided with a coupling recess (7) that is sunken into a surface (15) of the coupling housing (14), wherein a channel opening (18) of the fluid channel (17) ends at an end face (19) of the coupling recess (7). According to the invention, it is provided that the channel opening (18) is covered by a membrane seal (4) which is made of a resilient material and through which a fluid gap passes (8) that is designed such that the membrane seal (4), when in a resting position, seals the channel opening (18) and, when in an operative position, opens the channel opening (18), wherein at least one yielding depression (29) is formed in the coupling recess (7) adjacently to the channel opening (18), which depression is designed for an yielding movement of a region (36, 37) of the membrane seal (4) when the membrane seal (4) transitions from the resting position into the operative position.
