20190321601 · 2019-10-24 ·

The invention provides a variety of methods and apparatus for insertion of a needle and/or guidewire from a sterile tube. In some embodiments, a bungee cord holds the apparatus. The invention also provides methods of decoupling the needle and/or guidewire from the external magnets during an insertion process.

CLAMP FOR RETAINING AN IV TUBE
20190282793 · 2019-09-19 ·

A clamp for retaining an IV tube having a pair of clamp sections configured to be selectively secured together. Each clamp section includes a semi-cylindrical surface, and the semi-cylindrical surfaces are positioned to mirror one another when the clamp sections are secured together to frictionally engage around the IV tube. Each clamp section has a finger grip on an outer surface which is positioned on an opposite side of the clamp section from the semi-cylindrical surface. Each finger grip also has an arched surface which includes a medial portion positioned between each end of the finger grips, and at least one end of the finger grip flares away from the semi-cylindrical surface. The finger grip can have a finger shield which extends laterally beyond the semi-cylindrical surface. At least one of the finger grips may be symmetrical.

Tamper-Resistant Enclosures for Fluid Lines
20190275263 · 2019-09-12 ·

A tamper-resistant device for holding a portion of an access port of a fluid line can include a first housing member that includes a first recess and a first stopping shelf. The device can further include a second housing member that includes a second recess and a second stopping shelf. The second housing member can couple with the first housing member such that the first and second stopping shelves cooperate to retain the portion of the access port within the device. The device can include a locking mechanism configured maintain the first and second housing members in a coupled state when engaged. The device can further include a tamper-evident indicator that, when activated, permits the first and second housing members to transition from the coupled state to a decoupled state to permit access to the access port of the fluid line.

STERILE PORT CONNECTION
20190242499 · 2019-08-08 ·

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to connection assemblies providing a connection between a tubing a port. The port can be disposed within and particularly extending through a bore of the port. The port and tube are coupled to provide an aseptic connection.

LOCKING TUBE CLIP

A component useable with one or more tube comprises a body engageable with one or more external surface recesses of the one or more tubes. The component has a pair of jaws extending from the body for gripping an item. The component is configured, such that, in use, in a first orientation of the body relative to the respective tube(s) recesses, the component is movable along a length of the tube(s); and, in a second orientation of the body relative to the respective tube(s) recesses, the component is resistive to movement along a length of the tube(s).

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A SPARGER DEVICE FOR A BIOPROCESSING SYSTEM

A sparger device includes a sparge tube having opposed distal ends, an inlet opening, and a plurality of sparge holes along a longitudinal extent of the sparge tube between the opposed distal ends, and a central hub coupled with the sparge tube at a point intermediate the opposed distal ends of the sparge tube, the central hub having a fluid passageway in fluid communication with the sparge tube via the inlet opening.

Sterile tube covering for a medical tubing system

The present invention relates to a tube covering for a tubing system, especially for monitoring a vascular access for an extracorporeal blood treatment. The inventive tube covering has at least one flexible bottom layer on which a section of the at least one tubing and/or a connection system of at least one tubing may be placed and has at least one flexible top layer for covering the section of the at least one tubing and/or the connection system of the at least one tubing. The bottom layer and the top layer are joined to one another such that they form an openable wrapping for inserting the section of the at least one tubing and/or the connection system of the at least one tubing, fastening means for detachably joining the top layer and the bottom layer being provided on the top layer and bottom layer.

Breaker device for acting onto a closure element of a medical tubing

A breaker device for acting onto a closure element (40) of a medical tubing (4) comprises: a drive arrangement (2) having a drive device (20), a drive element (23) driven by the drive device (20) and at least one locking element (22A, 22B), and a breaker module (3) which is arrangeable on the drive arrangement (2). The breaker module (3) comprises a housing (30), a movable part (31) movably arranged on the housing (30), a breaking element (315) for acting onto the closure element (40) of the tubing (4) and a locking mechanism (32A, 32B). The breaker module (3) in an attached state is placed on the drive arrangement (2) and is locked to the drive arrangement (2) via the locking mechanism (32A, 32B) engaging with the at least one locking element (22A, 22B), the drive element (23) being in operative connection with the movable part (31) in the attached state such that a movement of the drive element (23) causes the movable part (31) to move for actuating the breaking element (315). The breaker module (3) is releasable from the drive arrangement (2) by disengaging the locking mechanism (32A, 32B) from the at least one locking element (22A, 22B). Herein, the locking mechanism comprises at least one actuation member (32A, 32B) which is displaceable between a first position and a second position with respect to the housing (30), wherein the at least one actuation member (32A, 32B) is constituted to act, in the first position, onto the movable part (31) to force the movable part (31) into a position in which the movable part (31) can be brought into operative connection with the drive element (20) when arranging the breaker module (3) on the drive arrangement (2), and to engage, in the second position, with the at least one locking element (22A, 22B) of the drive arrangement (2) when the breaker module (3) is in the attached state.

Unravelable catheter

The invention is a catheter, which is formed from flexible material and has two basic configurations: An initial configuration, in which the catheter is supplied to the surgeon for insertion into the lumen of a patient, resembles a tension coil spring and a final configuration, which is an essentially linear configuration that is much longer and has a considerably smaller outer diameter than when it is in its initial configuration. The catheter is adapted to undergo a transformation from the initial configuration to the final configuration as it is pulled from its proximal end in order to withdraw it from the lumen of the patient.
