Smart connection interface
A method and apparatus for a connection interface between a reservoir or syringe, infusion set tubing, and an infusion pump is provided. The reservoir, a base and a cap are connected to form an integrated unit that is capable of being inserted and secured in an infusion pump housing. The cap and the infusion pump are each provided with at least one sensor or at least one detectable feature, arranged to interact with at least one corresponding detectable feature or sensor on the other of the cap and infusion pump device, to detect one or more of the presence, position or other characteristic of the cap when the cap is aligned or coupled with the infusion pump housing. The detectable feature and sensor may be magnetic, RF, mechanical, optical or any combination.
Screw connector for medical hose systems and a medical hose system having a screw connector
A screw connector includes a first connector with a first lumen and an outside thread, and a second connector with an elastically deformable nut and an inside thread. The outside thread has a first formation and the nut has a second formation, the second formation is a recess in the base of the nut, and the inside thread and the outside thread are configured for mutual connection. The nut is configured for deformation by the first formation in a first angle-of-rotation range without the first formation engaging in the recess, and the inside thread, the outside thread, the first formation, and the recess are configured for engaging the first formation when the inside and outside threads are connected in a second angle-of-rotation range. The screw connector has a half-open sterilization position in the second angle-of-rotation range. In another range, the screw connector may be tightened to be gas-tight and/or liquid-tight.
Screw connector for medical hose systems and medical hose systems having a screw connector
A screw connector for medical hose systems is configured for catch engagement in a half-open sterilization position. The connector includes a first connecting element having a first lumen and an outside thread, and a second connecting element having a second lumen, and an elastically deformable union nut having an inside thread. The inside thread and the outside thread are configured to be screwed together, with the outside thread having a first formation and the inside thread a second formation, with deformation of the nut via the first formation in a predetermined first angle-of-rotation range without engaging the second formation. The inside thread and the outside thread, and the first formation and the second formation, are configured for catch engagement of the first formation in the second formation when the inside thread and the outside thread are screwed together in a predetermined second angle-of-rotation range to provide the half-open sterilization position.
Connection Apparatus for a Medical Device
A connection apparatus for a medical device includes a first connection member having a first end and a second end with the first connection member defining at least one channel adjacent the first end. The at least one channel having a first portion extending in an axial direction and a shoulder adjacent to the first end of the first connection member that defines a channel entry. The at least one channel having a second portion extending in a transverse direction relative to the axial direction. The connection apparatus further including a second connection member having a first end and a second end and at least one protrusion adjacent the first end. The shoulder is configured to guide the at least one protrusion of the second connection member into the channel entry regardless of the orientation of the at least one protrusion relative to the channel entry.
Conduit connector for a patient breathing device
In an embodiment, a connector or connector assembly for attaching a nasal cannula with a gas delivery hose includes a sensor port for a sensor probe positioned near an end of a nasal cannula, which can allow the sensor probe to be placed closer to the patient's nostrils than previous connector parts allowed. The connector can be configured to advantageously allow the nasal cannula to rotate relative to the gas delivery hose, thereby allowing a patient or healthcare provider to untangle or otherwise straighten the hose or the cannula. The connector assembly can be configured to automatically align locking protrusions on a first component with locking recesses on a second component, where insertion of the second component within the first component causes the second component to rotate relative to the first component, thereby aligning the locking protrusions with associated locking recesses.
Aseptic Coupling Devices
An aseptic coupling device includes: a main body defining a front face; a membrane coupled to the front face, the membrane including a first portion coupled to the front face and a second portion folded over on the first portion; and a low friction member positioned between the first and second portions of the membrane.
Fluid control device for endoscope and endoscope
A gas feeding/suction valve includes: a cylinder including a conduit opening communicable with a fluid conduit of an endoscope; two coupling members provided at different positions from the conduit opening of the cylinder and connected to respective fluid sources; and an operation member provided inside the cylinder and including a shaft slidably disposed in a space forming respective fluid paths through which openings of the two coupling members and the conduit opening communicate with each other, and the cylinder includes a sounding body provided near at least one of two ventilation ports, through which the fluid paths communicate with an outside of the cylinder, and configured to generate a warning sound when a fluid flows in a direction opposite to a direction in which a fluid generated from the fluid source is supposed to flow.
Female syringe barrel, syringe kit, and syringe connection method
A female syringe barrel is disclosed, which includes two protrusions provided on a cylindrical portion. A length (Lp) of each protrusion of the two protrusions along a direction, perpendicular to an axis of the cylindrical portion and perpendicular to a direction in which each protrusion of the two protrusions protrudes from the cylindrical portion, is 2.0 mm to 4.5 mm. A width of each protrusion of the two protrusions along an axial direction of the cylindrical portion is 1.0 mm to 2.1 mm. Each protrusion of the two protrusions has an inclined surface, which opposes a trailing flank of a screw when the two protrusions are engaged into the screw of a lock adapter, in an end portion close to a barrel body.
Connector system for releasably connecting fluid conduits
Disclosed herein are embodiments of a connector system for releasably connecting together tubes, for example medical tubing, and methods of making and using such a connector system, whereby the connector system includes a female coupler having a first passageway, a male coupler having a second passageway, a catch movably coupled to the female coupler, and a catch-receiving element coupled to the male coupler. The connector system further includes a release element movably coupled to the female coupler, whereby travel of the release element along or over a female coupler outer surface of the female coupler disengages the catch from the catch-receiving element to achieve a disconnected condition of the connector system. Further disclosed herein are embodiments of a connector system for releasably connecting together tubes, whereby the connector system includes at least one valve biased by a valve-biasing member disposed external to or outside of the fluid flow path.
