FLUID COUPLINGS

Some fluid coupling devices described herein are configured for use in fluid systems for purposes of providing a sterile connection for drug delivery. In some embodiments, the fluid coupling devices can be implemented as multi-use, sterile fluid coupling devices that are configured to reduce the likelihood of fluid spillage when being disconnected.

Stapling assembly comprising a lockout

A stapling assembly for use with a surgical stapler is disclosed. The stapling assembly comprises a first jaw, a second jaw, an elongate channel configured to receive a staple cartridge, a firing member, and a lockout. The staple cartridge comprises a sled configured to eject staples. The firing member is configured to move distally in response to a rotary motion. The firing member is configured to advance the sled during a firing stroke. The lockout is configured to selectively prevent said firing member from performing said firing stroke.

Closed male luer device for use with needleless access devices

A medical connector can include a body having a fluid path with an inlet port, an outlet port, a luer portion, and a post extending through a fluid path. An arm having a latch member is coupled to the body to engage a ridge or thread on an exterior surface of a reciprocal connector. The arm may also include an extension. When the connector is in an open position, the latch member restricts retraction of the reciprocal connector from the outlet port. A seal is coupled to the body and includes a flap extending across the outlet port or a bellows to compress along an axis. In a closed position, the post restricts flow through the luer portion. In an open position, the post permits flow through the luer portion.

Medical connector

A luer connector including a rigid housing having a first end and a second end. The housing further including a rigid tubular male portion at the first end, a rigid tubular female portion at the second end, and a longitudinal opening therethrough. The male portion is configured to be engageable with a female connector. The female portion is configured to be engageable with a male connector and to prevent the disengagement of the male connector from the female portion. In some embodiments, the female portion is configured to maintain a fixed rotational position when the male connector is being threaded therewith, but to rotate with the male connector once the male connector has become fully engaged with the female portion so as to prevent the male connector from becoming unthreaded from the female portion.

Luer to luer tissue morselizer

A peelable cathlock device is configured to allow a catheter or a port to be able to be replaced independently of each other. The peelable cathlock includes a body defining a cylindrical shape and extending from a first end to a second end. The body defines a lumen providing fluid communication between the first end, which is configured to attach to the proximal end of a catheter, and the second end configured to attach to a port. The peelable cathlock includes a tear line extending along a portion of the body are configured to allow the body to separate along the tear line when a force is applied.

Medical break-away connectors

Break-away connectors are disclosed. The break-away connectors may be configured to be coupled in at least two configurations, for example, a high force configuration and a low force configuration. The break-away connectors may also be incrementally adjustable between the high force configuration and the low force configuration. The break-away connectors may be coupled to a first medical device and a second medical device. Methods of using and/or coupling the break-away connectors are also disclosed.

FLUID CONNECTOR SYSTEM

Fluid connector systems including first and second valve assemblies couplable together to form a fluid pathway therethrough, and can resist fluid flow through the connector system when the valve assemblies are separated from each other, the first valve assembly including a post forming a fluid passage, and the second valve assembly including a valve plug positioned within a bore and configured to obstruct a fluid passage, such that when the valve assemblies are separated, a slit of the valve plug resist fluid flow therethrough, and when the valve assemblies are coupled together the post extends through the compressible valve and engagement of a ridge of the valve plug against the post resist fluid flow between the post and the ridge.

Peel-away sheath assembly

Systems and methods for a multi-layered peel-away sheath assembly for insertion of a blood pump, the peel-away sheath assembly including a sheath hub and a sheath body having a proximal end that is connected to the sheath hub, and a distal end. The sheath body comprises multiple layers including a reinforcing layer. The reinforcing layer improves flexibility and kink resistance of the assembly. The reinforcing layer can comprise LCP, PEBAX, stainless steel, Nitinol, or Kevlar. The reinforcing layer may be a laser-cut hypotube or a braided or coiled filament. A first layer material and a third layer material are thermoplastics, including PEBAX or TPU. The reinforcing layer has at least one discontinuity, which is aligned with peel-away lines in the sheath body to allow an operator to peel-away the assembly. The peel-away lines are formed of inner notches, outer notches, or both inner notches and outer notches. The sheath hub also includes a discontinuity to allow the sheath hub to peel-away.
