Fluid transfer device and packaging therefor
A fluid transfer system includes packaging having a body with a sidewall extending between an open top end and a bottom end and defining an interior cavity, and at least one protrusion extending radially inward from the sidewall into the interior cavity. The system also includes a fluid transfer device including an inner member and an outer member surrounding at least a portion of the inner member. The inner member having a first position where the inner member is configured to rotate freely relative to the outer member and a second position where rotation of the inner member relative to the outer member is restricted in a first rotational direction. The fluid transfer device also including a locking arrangement configured for cooperating with the at least one protrusion to prevent rotation of the inner member relative to the outer member upon an application of a compressive force on the packaging.
Self-cleaning needleless connector
A self-cleaning needleless connector may include a connector body defining a fluid passageway including an inlet and an outlet, a cover disposed over at least the inlet of the connector body, an access point disposed at an inlet end of the cover, where in a first position the inlet is within the cover and in an second position the inlet is extended beyond the cover and configured to receive a male luer, a reservoir containing a cleaning agent, and an abrasive surface located in the cover that is in fluid communication with the cleaning agent, where the abrasive surface and the cleaning agent are configured to contact an exterior surface of the inlet to create friction.
Injection needle assembly
The present disclosure relates to an injection needle assembly for use in a medicament delivery device. The injection needle assembly comprises an injection needle holder, an injection needle fixed to said injection needle holder, the injection needle having a proximal end and a distal end, and a sealing assembly for sealing the distal end of the injection needle. The sealing assembly comprises a spacer element surrounding the distal end of the injection needle and a sealing membrane for sealing the distal end of the injection needle.
FLUID CONNECTION SYSTEM AND PRODUCTION METHOD
Disclosed is a fluid connection system including a sleeve, a pipe and a fluid connector, the fluid connector including at least one rigid body made from a sterilizable biocompatible material, and the pipe including a flexible connection portion made from a sterilizable biocompatible material that is at least partially elastomeric. The fluid connector and the flexible connection portion of the pipe are assembled to one another, with the flexible connection portion of the pipe surrounding the rigid body, and the sleeve being shrunk tightly, but with free movement, on the pipe.
ANTI-SNAGGING INFUSION SETS
Anti-snagging components for use in infusion sets are provided. The anti-snagging component includes a sliding surface that guides an infusion set component past an obstruction when the infusion set is moved during manufacture or use. An anti-snagging structure may be integrally formed as a portion of an infusion set component or the anti-snagging structure may be a separate component that connects or attaches to an infusion set component. Some anti-snagging structures include a covering portion to cover a needleless connector and a tail portion to connect to a length of tubing. The covering portion may include an anti-microbial coating.
ANTI-MICROBIAL IV TUBING PROTECTION SYSTEM
Embodiments described herein relate to encasements for protection of central lines, arterial lines, and/or intravenous (IV) lines from contaminants, and methods of making and using the same. In some embodiments, an encasement device can include a flexible sleeve that fits over a central line and protects the central line from contaminants. The flexible sleeve has a first open end and a second open end. A first closing element secures the first open end to a medical dressing and a second closing element secures the second open end in a closed position at a location distal to the first closing element. In some embodiments, the central line can include an intravenous (IV) catheter, a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) and/or a hemodialysis line. In some embodiments, the device can include a flap coupled to the flexible sleeve.
COVER FOR USE WITH SHEATH HUB AND DILATOR HUB
A snap-fit cover is configured to snap fit to a dilator hub. The snap-fit cover is also configured to snap fit to the sheath-hub cap of the sheath hub.
Infusion set with safety device
An infusion set includes a base with a rigid piercing cannula or a soft catheter and rigid introducer needle. The infusion set also includes a line set with a fluid connector. The base and line set are configured such that the fluid connector can be used as a protector for the piercing cannula or the soft catheter, either before the device is attached to a user, or after the device is detached from the user, or both.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR SECURING A LINE
A fastener for securing a medical or surgical line with respect to a patient, the fastener comprising: an elongate braided tubular sleeve for receiving the line therethrough, the sleeve having a variable length and being capable when lengthened of gripping the line, an attachment arrangement for attaching the sleeve to the patient, and a sensor mounted to the fastener, the sensor being arranged to sense at least one of a physiological parameter of the patient and a parameter in relation to the line.
SECUREMENT DEVICES FOR INTRACARDIAC BLOOD PUMP SYSTEMS
Improved securement devices for use with intracardiac blood pump assemblies are provided. The present technology provides securement devices that may be used with a sheath assembly (e.g., an introducer sheath assembly, repositioning sheath assembly), and which are configured to restrict movement of an object (e.g., the catheter of the pump assembly) within the sheath assembly except when a mechanism (e.g., button) of the securement device is actively being actuated (e.g., pressed, held, etc.).
