IMPROVED THREE-WAY CONNECTOR
A three-way connector (1) including a body (2) with a tubular central part (3) having a first (4) and a second (5) opposite ends, the first end being open and the second end being closed, an internal cavity (6) of the tubular central part (3) communicating with internal ducts (7, 8, 9) of connection portions (10, 11, 12) which project radially from said tubular central part (3), a first (10) and a second (11) intake connection portion being able to receive fluids, at least one of these fluids being infused to a patient by means of the third, output connection portion (12), a tubular valve element (13) with an internal cavity (16) being inserted inside the internal cavity (6) of said central portion (3), and projecting from the first, open end (4) of said tubular central part (3) with a grasping portion (17) thereof with radial arms (17A). The valve element (13) has a shaped tubular body (14) which, selectively can put said connection portions (10, 11, 12) selectively into communication, or close this communication. Transversely inside said internal cavity (16) of the tubular body (14) of the valve element (13) there is present a wall (35) which divides said cavity (16) into two sections (36, 37), a hole (40) in said transverse wall (35) putting these sections of cavity (36, 37) into communication.
Vented air release coupling and method of using the same
An ISO 80369-3 compatible coupling having at least one vent, recessed groove, non-cylindrical geometry and/or textured surface formed therewith. According to one example embodiment, a vent can be formed on a male coupling and/or a female coupling. The vent can be in the form of recessed channel. According to one example embodiment, the coupling comprises non-cylindrical geometry such that at least one vent is provided.
Connector cap with safety vent
A needleless connector caps is provided with one or more vents allowing air to pass around the cap, for example in a case where a cap may be accidentally lodged in a position completely concentric with a patient's throat. Configuration of structural elements making up a cap exterior can provide one or more openings or channels in the cap that remain unblocked and extend from the base to the top side of the cap forming one or more vents allowing air to pass through the cap.
Hub component for vented connector
A hub component for a vented connector including a generally elongate cylindrical body having a first end and a second end. The first end of the hub component includes one or more fingers or clips for engagement with one or more vents of the vented connector. The second end of the hub component can be configured for compatible engagement with a carbon dioxide detector.
Single use caps and covers for vascular access devices, and kits and methods for using the same
This invention concerns improved single use caps or covers for vascular access devices such as needlefree connectors that are used, for example, in intravenous administration sets and extension sets. Removal of a single use cap or cover according to the invention from a vascular access device destroys the cap such that the cap cannot be reused. Said single use caps or covers will help ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols in healthcare settings, which will assist in reducing incidences of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), particularly catheter-related blood stream infections. Assemblies and kits including said caps or covers, for example, IV administration and extension sets that include one or more needlefree connectors, as well as methods for using said caps or covers, are also described.
SYSTEM FOR LYOPHILIZING, RECONSTITUTING, AND DELIVERING A MEDICATION, AND RELATED METHODS
A modular syringe assembly can include: a tubular syringe barrel having a proximal end and a distal end, the tubular syringe barrel defining a longitudinal axis; a plunger slidable within the tubular syringe barrel; and a cap assembly including a stopper portion and a Luer tip, the stopper portion receivable in the distal end of the tubular syringe barrel, the stopper portion defining a vent window. The cap assembly can be slidable within the tubular syringe barrel along the longitudinal axis between a sealed position where the vent window is covered by the tubular syringe barrel to prevent venting between the cap assembly and the tubular syringe barrel, and a vented position where the vent window forms a vent between the cap assembly and the tubular syringe barrel. Other features and methods are also described.
Medical fluid connector
A medical fluid connector, having a first body with a tube section with an inlet and a first thread, a second body with an outlet and a second thread that engages the first thread to move the first and second bodies between closed and opened positions. The second body has a third thread that is configured to rotate in the opposite direction in relation to said first and second threads. The connector has a closure cap with a fourth thread that, in a delivery state of the fluid connector, is detachably screwed to the third thread of the second body, wherein the fluid connector assumes the open position, and wherein the outlet is closed off in an air-permeable and liquid-tight manner by means of the closure cap.
Enteral feeding connector
Embodiments of the application are directed toward an enteral feeding connector, comprising a stem member of a male enteral feeding connector configured to fit inside a shroud skirt of a female enteral feeding connector, wherein an end of the stem member comprises a positive taper funnel-shaped opening. In some cases, an outer radial surface of the end of the stem member is shaped to match a profile of an inner radial surface of the shroud skirt, such that the outer radial surface of the end of the stem member is flush with the inner radial surface of the shroud skirt when the stem member is disposed within the shroud skirt.
Enteral syringe with vented collar
A syringe having an enteral collar with a vent is disclosed. The syringe may also include a plug which reversibly covers the vent. Other embodiments relate to the use of the syringe. The vent allows fluid within the region between the enteral collar and the tip to be removed.
Infusion tube system and method for manufacture
An infusion tube system and a method for manufacture are provided, An infusion tube system including an infusion tube and a connector attached to the infusion tube at an end of the infusion tube is disclosed. The connector has a proximal end and includes a connector body extending from a distal end to a proximal end along a center axis and defining a cavity. The connector body includes an end wall with an inner surface, and at least one vent opening, and a sidewall extending from the end wall along the center axis with an inner and outer surface. The connector includes a membrane covering the at least one vent opening, the membrane being welded to the inner surface of the end wall along at least one welding seam including a first welding seam such that the membrane covers and seals the at least one vent opening.
