HIGH EXPANSION ANCHORING SYSTEM
A slip assembly includes a first support cone configured to move a first extension ramp between retracted and extended positions. The first extension ramp is biased towards the retracted position by a first biasing member. The slip assembly further includes a second support cone configured to move a second extension ramp between retracted and extended positions. The second extension ramp is biased towards the retracted position by a second biasing member. The slip assembly further includes a slip member disposed between the first extension ramp and the second extension ramp. The slip member is configured to slide between retracted and extended positions along an outer surface of the first extension ramp and along an outer surface of the second extension ramp. A shank of the slip member is held in a cage by a retainer that moves radially when the slip member moves between the retracted and extended positions.
Retrievable High Expansion Bridge Plug and Packer with Retractable Anti-Extrusion Backup System
A packer assembly includes a packer mandrel and a packing element disposed about the packer mandrel. An upper recovery sleeve is disposed about the packer mandrel and extending between the packer mandrel and an upper end of the packing element, and a lower recovery sleeve is disposed about the packer mandrel and extending between the packer mandrel and a lower end of the packing element. An upper backup assembly is movably disposed about the upper recovery sleeve and adjacent to the upper end of the packing element. A lower backup assembly is movably disposed about the lower recovery sleeve. The lower backup assembly has a lower backup ring assembly configured to enclose an outer surface of the lower end of the packing element. A retrieval sleeve is selectively movable relative to the lower backup ring assembly and configured to at least partially retract the lower backup ring assembly.
Downhole tool with a retained object
A method and apparatus for a downhole tool including a retained object. The downhole tool includes a longitudinal axis, a cone including a seat having an opening, and a shoe member. The downhole tool further includes a slip assembly disposed between the cone and the shoe member. The downhole tool further includes a mandrel disposed in the opening of the seat. The downhole tool further includes an attachment member attaching the mandrel to the shoe member, wherein the attachment member is eccentric to the longitudinal axis. The downhole tool further includes a setting sleeve abutting the cone. The downhole tool further includes the object, wherein the object configured to engage with the seat, and wherein the object is disposed between the mandrel and the setting sleeve.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR A FRAC PLUG
Utilizing threads and coupling mechanisms to selectively secure slips and cones directly to a mandrel, wherein a distal end of the lower slips includes projections configured to interface with depressions within a cap of the frac plug to limit the relative rotation of the slips.
SETTING TOOL
A setting tool includes a barrel piston that is configured to couple to a setting sleeve and defines a working surface and a vent port. An upper mandrel is disposed within the barrel piston and defines a power charge chamber that is configured to receive a power charge and includes an upper threaded portion, a lower internal thread, and a plurality of axial discharge ports disposed circumferentially around the lower internal thread. The plurality of axial discharge ports are in fluid communication at one end with the power charge chamber and at the other end with the working surface of the barrel piston. A lower mandrel has an upper end and a lower end, with the upper end in threaded engagement with the lower internal thread of the upper mandrel, and the lower end configured to couple to a frac plug. The power charge chamber includes an upper chamber and a lower chamber, with the lower chamber shaped to open to be in fluid communication with each of the plurality of axial discharge ports. The barrel piston is configured for axial displacement with respect to the upper mandrel to position the vent port in fluid communication with the power charge chamber.
Methods and Apparatus for providing a plug with a two-step expansion
A plug assembly includes an expandable assembly and a locking ring. The expandable assembly is adapted to be deformed radially over the locking ring. The locking ring has a stopping inner surface. The plug assembly is used with an untethered object, which has an outer surface adapted to couple with the stopping inner surface of the locking ring. The untethered object is also adapted to contact an inner surface of the plug assembly and, using well fluid pressure, to apply forces to the plug assembly. The forces cause the longitudinal movement of the untethered object while contacting the inner surface of the plug assembly until the untethered object contacts the stopping inner surface of the locking ring.
WELLBORE COMPLETION APPARATUS
A wellbore completion apparatus includes an engager having an engageable surface configured for becoming engaged to a surface of the wellbore is disclosed. The apparatus is configurable in an engagement-ready state and an engagement state. Actuation of the apparatus such that it transitions from the engagement-ready state to the engagement state is with effect that the engageable surface becomes engaged to the wellbore surface. In the engagement-ready state, the engager can include a first free end and a second free end, and the transitioning to the engagement steady is effected in response to relative displacement between the first and second free ends. In the engagement state, the engager can be configured in a loop configuration.
BRIDGE PLUG WITH MULTIPLE SEALING ELEMENTS
Included are bridge plugs and methods and systems for the use and deployment of the bridge plugs. An example bridge plug comprises a first sealing element, a second sealing element, and a spacer; wherein the spacer is disposed between the first sealing element and the second sealing element; wherein the first sealing element and the second sealing element are not adjacent to one another.
IPacker bridge plug with slips
The present invention is to a packer plug that can be tripped into a particular location in a well bore and set using slips or expansion rings and packer elements. The plug presents little flow resistance because of its wide inner diameter throat through the mandrel. A ball seat at an upper end allows for the sealing of the interior passage. The ball can be flowed upward or dissolved to remove the seal and allow flow through the plug.
Multi-stage hydraulic fracturing tool and system
The present invention provides an actuation member for traveling down a borehole of a casing to engage with one or more geometrical profile locations provided inside the casing, and a system for controllably exposing selected locations along the wellbore to a pressurized fluid. The actuation member comprises a generally cylindrical hollow body extending between an uphole end and a downhole end, and a plug seat configured to receive a plug for blocking the borehole. The actuation member has two edge portions separate and movable relative to one another to facilitate resilient deformation of the hollow body, wherein the deformation causes a reduction of cross-sectional area of the hollow body. An outer surface of the hollow body comprises one or more protrusions and/or grooves configured to matingly engage with the one or more geometric profile locations in the casing.
