VALVE FOR ADMINISTRATION OF MULTIPLE DRUG FLUIDS
A drug administration valve (100) comprises a valve housing (200) having a plurality of drug inlets (D1 to D4) for receiving drug fluids, such as cytostatic, one flushing inlet (F) for receiving a flushing fluid, and an outlet (O). A valve member (300) rotationally arranged in the housing has a passageway (320; 321) presenting a single inlet (322) and a single outlet (324).The valve member (300) presents a plurality of drug positions for guiding an associated drug fluid to the outlet (O), and one or more flushing positions for guiding a flushing fluid through the same passageway (320; 321) as the drug fluids in order to flush said passageway (320; 321) from any drug residuals. The valve member (300) is prevented from rotating from one drug position to another drug position without passing one of said flushing positions
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR DRAINAGE, INFUSION, OR INSTILLATION OF FLUIDS
Valve devices are provided for draining fluids from and/or infusing fluids into a patient's body that include a housing including first, second, and third connectors, a primary fluid path communicating between the first and second connectors, and a secondary fluid path communicating from the primary fluid path to the third connector. First and second valve members are movable within the housing between first positions wherein the valve members do not obstruct the primary fluid path and second positions wherein the primary fluid path is at least partially closed. The third connector may be configured to prevent fluid flow therethrough unless a mating connector is fully coupled thereto. The valve members may be selectively closed to isolate portions of the flow path to allow a source of vacuum or fluid coupled to the third connector to aspirate or infuse fluid along portions of the primary fluid path.
Flow reversing device
An external support that routes the tubing of a reversing valve in such a manner that connection tubes extend from one end of the device and the treatment device tubes extend from the opposite end. The external support may provide guides that hold the tubing extending from the supported flat rotary switch type of valve so as to keep them from being pinch or kinked thereby ensuring free flow of blood.
Vacuum Chamber with Snap Fit Plunger Mechanism
A drainage system includes a vacuum chamber to receive drainage liquid from a drainage tube. The chamber can include an input port coupled with the drainage tube and a drain port coupled with a collection container. The system can include an air pump having an input coupled with a vacuum port of the vacuum chamber and a distal end of the drainage tube. Activation of the air pump can establish circulating fluid flow between the drainage tube and the vacuum chamber, and deactivation of the air pump can permit drainage liquid to drain from the vacuum chamber into the output tube. Also disclosed is a method of draining liquid from a patient, including accumulating a volume of the drainage liquid at a first location along a drainage pathway, moving the volume to a second location, accumulating the volume at the second location, and moving the volume to a collection container.
MANIFOLD CONNECTION ASSEMBLY HAVING A SURFACE FINISH
A manifold associated with a contrast injector system. The manifold may include a first fluid inlet, a second fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, a main passageway, and a valve. The first fluid inlet, second fluid inlet, and fluid outlet may be in fluid communication with the main passageway. The first fluid inlet, second fluid inlet, or fluid outlet can be connected to a conduit for communicating fluid, such as a fluid at high pressure. At least one of the first fluid inlet, second fluid inlet, or fluid outlet can have a surface finish that is in contact with the conduit.
CLOSED STOPCOCK
A stopcock, comprising a housing element defining a central bore and at least first, second and third ports; and a handle element which is selectably positionable relative to the housing element; at least one of the housing element and the handle element defining: a first fluid flow passageway communicating between two of the at least first, second and third ports; a second fluid flow passageway communicating between at least two of the at least first, second and third ports, and a fluid flow guide associated with the second fluid flow passageway, the fluid flow guide extending radially towards an inner facing wall of the central bore.
DRAINAGE CATHETER WITH SAFETY VALVE
The disclosure relates to the area of medicine and surgery, in particular it pertains to a drainage catheter (100) that comprises a high capacity drain comprising a radiological guide (110a) with a suction mesh (110b), a safety control opening/closing system (160), an internal pneumatic clamping system (140) and/or an external adhesive skin protection system (150). A reservoir for the administration of local anesthetics and antibiotics may be additionally provided. The disclosed catheter system optimizes flow surface, facilitates procedures for handling and removal of drainage, reduces the risk of occlusions, pain, injuries and infections of the surrounding skin and maintains sufficient structural strength to prevent collapses, among others.
Improvements in and Relating to Sterilisation of Fluid-Guiding Elements for Bioprocessing Applications
Disclosed is an ultra-violet (UV) light sterilisable fluid-guiding element (100, 200, 300, 400, 500) configurable to form a part of a normally closed bioprocessing fluid system, at least a portion of the element being formed from a material which is transmissive to UV light, said at least one portion of the element including one or more surfaces (134) configured to contact and guide fluids within the closed system. The element further includes at least one UV light emitting diode (LED) (154) mounted in, on, or adjacent the at least one portion and has sufficient light output to sterilise at least the one or more surfaces (134).
CASSETTE FOR A FLOW CONTROL APPARATUS
A pump set for use with a pumping apparatus includes tubing for carrying a liquid. A valve mechanism is mounted to the tubing between an inlet section and a pump engagement section. The valve mechanism includes a first port connected to the inlet section of the tubing, a second port connected to the pump engagement section of the tubing, and a valve disposed between the first and second ports. The valve includes a stem rotatably mounted within a stem holder. The stem includes a flow passage extending through the stem and having an open V shape whereby a narrow open end of the flow passage communicates with the first port and a wide open end of the flow passage communicates with the second port to place the inlet section of the tubing in communication with the pump engagement section of the tubing.
Systems and methods for enhancing preparation and completion of surgical and medical procedures
Systems and methods for preparing and completing surgical and medical procedures. In particular, kits are provided for improving preparation and completion time for a medical or surgical procedure in which the kit includes modularized compartments containing sterilized medical or surgical equipment and wherein the medical or surgical equipment is organized and/or ordered within the kit to generally correspond to the sequence of steps of the medical or surgical procedure. The kit is particularly applicable to recanalization procedures for stroke patients as well as revascularization procedures for acute myocardial infarction patients where a kit enables faster preparation and completion of these procedures.
