Fire and water resistant, integrated wall and roof expansion joint seal system
A fire and water resistant, integrated wall and roof expansion joint seal system includes an expansion joint seal for a structure. The seal includes a central portion having an underside and at least one central chamber disposed around a centerline, a first flange portion extending outwardly from the centerline and a second flange portion extending outwardly from the centerline in a direction opposite the first flange portion. The system further includes a joint closure. The joint closure includes a core and a layer of a water resistant material disposed on the core. The joint closure further includes an end portion configured to match and integrate with the underside of the central portion to form the watertight, integrated wall and roof expansion joint seal system. A fire retardant material is included in the core in an amount effective to pass testing mandated by UL 2079, and the core with the fire retardant material therein is configured to facilitate compression of the core when installed between the first substrate and the second substrate by repeatedly expanding and contracting to accommodate movement of the first substrate and the second substrate; and the core with the fire retardant material included therein is configured to pass the testing mandated by UL 2079. Movement of one or both of the first substrate and the second substrate causes a response in the central portion to maintain the seal.
CURABLE COMPOSITION FOR FIREPROOFING
Provided is a curable composition which forms a cured product that has excellent fireproof performance, while having excellent shape retainability even in cases where the expansion ratio of the cured product after firing is set to a high value. This curable composition includes a shape retention agent, while having fluidity when applied; and if a cured product that is obtained by curing this curable composition is fired in 600 C. air atmosphere for 30 minutes, the cured product after firing has shape retainability.
FIRE-RATED WALL AND CEILING SYSTEM
The present application is directed toward fire-rated wall construction components and wall systems for use in building construction. Embodiments can include tracks for holding studs which incorporate various geometries capable of receiving fire-retardant material, flat straps for use between tracks and fluted wall components, fire sponges for use in fluted wall components, and tracks with protruding grooves or other structures which prevent unwanted air movement between a wallboard component and the track.
Prefabricated form for fireproofing structural steel and method of use
A prefabricated formed edge guide for fireproofing a structural steel member and method of use is disclosed, which includes a formed edge, a set of mesh surfaces attached to the formed edge, and a thickness formed by the formed edge and the set of mesh surfaces. A fireproofed structure is disclosed that includes a member including a set of surfaces, a set of the preformed edge guides attached to the set of surfaces, and a fireproofing thickness formed by the formed edge and the set of mesh surfaces. A fireproofing material is adhered to the member using the set of preformed edge guides and the fireproofing thickness to create the fireproofed structure. The fireproofing material may be applied in one single layer or in successive layers.
TWO-PIECE TRACK SYSTEM
A fire-rated receiver channel includes at least one intumescent or other fire-resistant material strip. The receiver channel can nest with a framing member, such as metal tracks, headers, header tracks, sill plates, bottom tracks, metal studs, wood studs or wall partitions, and placed at a perimeter of a wall assembly to create a fire block arrangement. In other arrangements, a track assembly includes two nested tracks, an inner track and outer track. The assembly is designed so that the outside width of the outer track is equal to or less than the outside width of the inner track to present a substantially flush external surface for attachment of exterior sheathing elements when the assembly is used in an external wall.
FIRE RESISTANT CONSTRUCTION BLOCK
A fire resistant construction block that comprises a core comprising a polygonal shape including a front face, a rear face, a right face, a left face, a bottom face, and a top face. The fire resistant construction block further comprises a fire resistant coating surrounding at least a portion of the core and an optional intermediate layer disposed between the core and the fire resistant coating. The fire resistant construction block can comprise a plurality of channels, and the top face of the fire resistant construction block comprises a sloped surface. The fire resistant construction block can be configured to be disposed above a window of a building and the placement of the fire resistant construction block can enable an exterior wall of a building to comply with a National Fire Protection Agency Code 285 standard fire test method and/or other fire test standards.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ASSISTING IN REDUCING THE SPREAD OF FIRE, SMOKE OR HEAT IN A BUILDING
System for assisting in reducing the spread of fire between adjacent rooms in a building proximate to the ceiling thereof includes an elongated header track, at least one elongated filler constructed at least partially of compressible or elastic material and at least one fire-blocker constructed at least partially of fire retarding material.
WOOD-BASED MATERIAL INSULATED FOR COMBUSTION RESISTANCE
A fire retardant article has a wood-based material with a polyisocyanurate foam article attached thereto, where the polyisocyanurate foam article covers 90% or more of the exposed portion of the wood-based material, has a thickness greater than 1.8 centimeters, a foam core having a density of 28-128 kg/m.sup.3, a trimer concentration characterized by at least one of (i) a trimer level in a range of 12-25 weight-percent and (ii) a molar ratio of trimer to sum of urethane and urea in a range of 1-8, a phosphorous concentration of at least 0.3 wt %, a combined concentration of phosphorous and bromine of at least 0.5 wt %, and a vapor permeable and non-combustible facer on at least one primary surface of the foam core.
Self-aligning corner bead for fireproofing structural steel member and method of using same
A self-aligning corner bead for fireproofing structural steel, having a strip of welded wire fabric cut to the appropriate width for the fireproofing thickness and bent longitudinally to form an obtuse V-shaped device is disclosed. A plastic nosing is installed along one edge. A method of finishing the corners for fireproofing of structural steel member using an improved corner bead includes the step of attaching the first wing of an obtuse V-shaped device through a lathe to the structural steel member utilizing pneumatic or screw type fasteners. The mesh structure of the second wing of the V-shaped device provides a dam to form a roughened surface on the first application of fireproofing material until it hardens.
Pole Shield
The present disclosure relates to a pole shield for extending around a pole structure. The pole shield comprises one or more than one sheet of composite material forming a hollow structure having an open first end and an opposed open second end. The sheet or sheets of composite material comprise from about 50% to about 80% by weight of a reinforcement impregnated with about 20% to about 50% of a polyurethane resin composition comprising a combination of a polyol component and a polyisocyanate component. Two or more pole shields may be stacked one on top of the other to form a pole shield structure which extends the height of protection of the pole structure. The pole shield can be used for protecting a pole structure from damage, such as from fire, rain, wind, sand, ice, pests, moisture or electrical. The pole shield may also be used to provide structural support to a pole structure.
