In one embodiment, a closure system comprises a guide assembly having a channel defined by a first guide wall and a second guide wall. The closure system may include a retention bar extending into the channel from the first guide wall and a plurality of slats. Each slat of the plurality of slats may be configured to interlock with another of the plurality of slats. Each slat may have a retention groove with at least one sidewall configured and dimensioned to engage the retention bar to retain the slat within the channel.

A closure system may include a closure movable between an extended state and a retracted state. The closure may be configured to at least partially obstruct an opening in the extended state and allow access through the opening in the retracted state. The closure may include a first portion and a second portion opposite the first portion. The wherein the closure may deflect by a first deflection distance when a vertical force is applied to the closure. The closure system may include a strap coupled to the first portion of the closure. The closure with the strap coupled thereto may deflect by a second deflection distance when the vertical force is applied to the closure. The first distance may be at least 100 percent more than the second deflection distance.

ROLLER SHUTTER FOR MITIGATING IMPACT FORCE

A roller shutter may include a rotatable drum; a shutter curtain including a series of three or more elongate slats pivotally interlocked in a longitudinal-edge-to-longitudinal-edge arrangement and arranged parallel to the rotatable drum, wherein a first and second longitudinal end portions of each elongate slat may be respectively aligned to form a first side border and a second side border, respectively, of the shutter curtain, wherein the first and second longitudinal end portions of each elongate slat may be respectively provided with at least one eyelet-structure which protrudes therefrom, whereby a first and second rows of eyelet-structures are formed along the first and second side borders; and at least a first cord and a second cord respectively strung loosely through all eyelet-structures of respective row of eyelet-structures, and each cord may be configured to confine all eyelet-structures of the respective row of eyelet-structures within a length of each cord.

ROLLING SHUTTER SYSTEM AND COMPONENT PARTS

A main slat for a roller shutter system is provided. The slat includes a slat body having a first and second end, a hook end connected to the first end of the slat body, a screw boss connected to the second end of the slat body, and a receiving end connected to the screw boss. The hook end and the receiving end are each shaped such that the hook end is laterally insertable into the receiving end of an adjacent main slat and when so inserted forms a hinge. The slat body has a central cross section including at least first and second portions, the first and second portions each having a different radius of curvature.

Slatted Door with Increased Impact Resistance

A slatted door includes a plurality of interengaged slats, and end members arranged at ends of respective slats. The end members and the slats are configured and arranged so that, when the slats are engaged with one another and with respective end members, at least one lateral reinforcement impact distribution structure is formed. The impact distribution structure is configured to absorb, distribute and/or redirect impact force in a direction along the length of the slats.

A base slat pry stopper, such as a base slat locking bracket, for locking a rolling shutter curtain covering an opening of a structure is disclosed. The base slat pry stopper may include a bracket base plate mounted to an opening bottom wall on an interior side of the shutter curtain, and a base slat engagement portion extending upward from the bracket base plate and above a top surface of the opening bottom wall. When the shutter curtain is unrolled to cover the opening, the base slat engagement portion engages the base slat to prevent the base slat from deflecting upward away from the opening bottom wall when a force applied from an exterior side of the shutter curtain causes the base slat to deflect toward the interior side of the structure and the shutter curtain. The base slat pry stopper may be permanently or removably installed.

Roller shutter

A roller shutter comprising a shutter moveable between a retracted position and an extended position is described. The shutter comprises one or more laths wherein the one or more laths comprise first and second surfaces mechanically connected by first and second sides and one or more internal supports. The one or more internal supports are configured to collapse preferentially with respect to the first and second sides. The presence of the one or more internal supports provides the laths with increased mechanical strength. However, by configuring the internal supports to collapse preferentially with respect to the first and second sides provides a means for absorbing and dissipating this force through the shutter. The roller shutter finds particular application as a horizontal shutter within heavy industry environments.
