RARE EARTH TANTALATE CERAMIC RESISTING CORROSION OF LOW MELTING POINT OXIDE AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR

The present disclosure discloses a rare earth tantalate ceramic resisting corrosion of a low melting point oxide. A general chemical formula of the ceramic is RETaO.sub.4. A method for preparing the ceramic includes: weighing RE.sub.2O.sub.3 powder and Ta.sub.2O.sub.5 powder and adding to a solvent to mix, and ball milling the mixed solution with a ball mill to obtain powder A; drying the powder A, and sieving the powder A for a first time to obtain powder B; placing the powder B in a mold for compaction, pre-sintering the powder B to form a block C, cooling the block C to room temperature, grounding the block C with a grinder, and sieving the block C for a second time to obtain powder D; and sintering the powder D to obtain the rare earth tantalate ceramic. The ceramic has high density and strong corrosion resistance to low melting point oxides.

A sealing process includes impregnating an oxide layer of an anodized metal with a corrosion inhibitor by contacting the oxide layer with a first corrosion inhibitor solution at a first temperature and sealing the impregnated oxide layer of an anodized metal by contacting the impregnated oxide layer with a second corrosion inhibitor solution at a second temperature, wherein the first corrosion inhibitor solution has a corrosion inhibitor concentration greater than the second corrosion inhibitor solution and the first temperature is less than the second temperature.

CMAS-RESISTANT THEMAL BARRIER COATING FOR PART OF GAS TURBINE ENGINE

A method of manufacturing a part with a CMAS-resistant thermal barrier coating (TBC) includes providing a part body having a surface and providing a source of coating material. The coating material includes a thermal protection material and a CMAS-reactive material. The method also includes delivering the coating material from the source toward the surface of the part body to form the CMAS-resistant TBC on the surface. The CMAS-resistant TBC includes both the thermal protection material and the CMAS-reactive material. The CMAS-reactive material is included as a substantially uniform distribution within the thermal protection material.

Assembly for a turbomachine

An assembly comprising a vent tube intended to be mounted inside a turbine shaft of a turbomachine. The vent tube has a radially inner annular part from which at least one annular centering part extends radially outwards. There is provided a cobalt-based alloy product comprising: in mass %, 0.08-0.25% C; 0.1% or less B; 10-30% Cr; 5% or less Fe and 30% or less Ni, the total amount of Fe and Ni being 30% or less; W and/or Mo, the total amount of W and Mo being 5-12%; at least one of Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb and Ta, the total amount of Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb and Ta being 0.5-2%; 0.5% or less Si; 0.5% or less Mn; 0.003-0.04% N; and the balance being Co and impurities. The cobalt-based alloy product is a polycrystalline body of matrix phase crystal grains, wherein MC type carbide phase grains are dispersively precipitated in the matrix phase crystal grains at an average intergrain distance of 0.13 to 2 μm and M.sub.23C.sub.6 type carbide phase grains are precipitated on grain boundaries of the matrix phase crystal grains.

Methods for coating a component

A method for processing a component is provided and includes masking a first portion of the component with a maskant. The maskant includes a slurry having a plurality of particles in a fluid carrier. The plurality of particles comprises at least one of silicon, carbon, one or more rare earth disilicates, monosilicates or oxides, and combinations thereof. The method includes depositing a silicon-based coating on a second portion of the component via a chemical vapor deposition process and removing the maskant and any overlying silicon-based coating from the first portion of the component.
