Diffuser pipe with stiffening rib
A diffuser pipe includes a tubular body defining a pipe center axis extending therethrough. The tubular body includes a first portion extending in a first direction from an inlet of the tubular body, a second portion extending in a second direction transverse to the first direction and terminating at a pipe outlet, and a bend portion fluidly linking the first portion and the second portion. A stiffening rib extends outwardly from an outer surface of the first portion of the tubular body.
Internal structure of a primary exhaust duct
An internal structure of a primary exhaust duct of a turbomachine, the internal structure comprising a primary wall comprising a surface of revolution about a longitudinal axis, allowing the air to pass through orifices and forming an internal surface of the primary exhaust duct, an interior skin comprising a surface of revolution about the longitudinal axis, arranged inside the primary wall, an upstream flange and a downstream flange which attach the interior skin to the interior of the primary wall, at least one separator which is attached to the interior skin and which extends from the interior skin towards the primary wall, the, or each, separator extends in a plane generally parallel to the longitudinal axis, between the two flanges, and the, or each, separator is not attached to the primary wall.

Gas turbine engine exhaust case
The turbine exhaust case can have an outer shroud, an inner shroud internal to the outer shroud, an annular exhaust path between the outer shroud and the inner shroud, and a plurality of struts each having a length extending across the annular exhaust path from a radially inner end to a radially outer end, the struts circumferentially interspaced from one another, the struts each having a leading edge and a trailing edge, a stiff connection between the radially inner end and the inner shroud, and a point connection between the radially outer end and the outer shroud.
TURBINE AND TURBOCHARGER INCLUDING THE TURBINE
A turbine includes: a rotatable impeller with a hub provided with a plurality of rotor blades; and a tubular member in which a diffuser located downstream of the impeller is formed. On an inner surface of the tubular member, a plurality of projections projecting radially inward of the tubular member are formed at positions closer to an inlet end of the tubular member than an outlet end of the tubular member. The plurality of projections are arranged in a circumferential direction of the inner surface so as to leave a space between adjacent projections.
System and method for combining compressor bleed flow and ventilation flow of gas turbine engine
A flow combiner is provided for a gas turbine engine. The flow combiner includes an outlet duct, a compressor bleed inlet duct coupled to the outlet duct, and a ventilation inlet duct coupled to the outlet duct. The compressor bleed inlet duct is configured to receive a bleed flow from a compressor of the gas turbine engine. The ventilation inlet duct is configured to receive a ventilation flow from an enclosure surrounding the gas turbine engine. The bleed flow and the ventilation flow are combined as an outlet flow through the outlet duct.
NARROW, HIGH PERFORMANCE COLLECTOR DESIGN
An exhaust system of a turbine typically includes an exhaust collector that turns the axial flow of exhaust, output by the turbine, radially outward, with the intent of diverting the flow up an exhaust stack. However, the width of the exhaust collector may be limited by packaging engineering, which can decrease the efficiency of the exhaust system. Accordingly, an exhaust collector is disclosed that utilizes non-cylindrical conical shapes in an exhaust diffuser to maximize volume and reduce velocity in the exhaust collector, to compensate for the decrease in efficiency caused by a reduced width of the exhaust collector.
Flexible aft cowls for aircraft
Flexible aft cowls are disclosed. In some examples, an aircraft engine having a flexible aft cowl is disclosed. In some examples, the aircraft engine comprises an aft cowl having a flexible portion defining a throat area adjacent an engine core nozzle of the aircraft engine. In some examples, the flexible portion to move radially between a first radial position in response to pressure within a nacelle not exceeding a pressure threshold and a second radial position in response to pressure within the nacelle exceeding the pressure threshold. In some examples, the throat area defined by the flexible portion is greater when the flexible portion is in the second radial position than when the flexible portion is in the first radial position.

APU eductor plenum flow stability splitter
An eductor for an auxiliary power unit with a gas turbine engine and a load compressor incorporates an eductor housing having an cooling airflow inlet and a turbine exhaust inlet opening fluidly connected through a primary plenum to an outlet opening. A splitter plate is positioned in the primary plenum fixing a flow stagnation point with respect to a wall of the primary plenum.
