Control device and control method for variable valve timing mechanism
A control device and a control method for variable valve timing mechanism according to the present invention obtains a first measurement of a rotational phase based on a rotational angle of the motor, obtains a second measurement of the rotational phase based on a relative relationship between a rotational angle of the crankshaft and a rotational angle of the camshaft, calibrates the first measurement based on the second measurement, obtains a derivative term proportional to a rate of change in a deviation between the first measurement and a target value, reduces change in derivative term when calibrating the first measurement based on the second measurement, and controls the motor based on a manipulated variable including the derivative term.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ROCKER ASSEMBLY
Systems and methods for an engine are provided. The engine includes a straight rocker shaft passing through each of a first rocker arm and a second rocker arm, the first rocker arm being shaped differently from the second rocker arm.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ROCKER ARM LUBRICATION
Systems and methods for intermittent supply of lubricating oil to a tip of a rocker arm assembly. In one embodiment, a lubricating oil may be selectively to a tip of a rocker arm via oil channels aligned only during opening of a valve coupled to the tip.
Rocker arm for a valve train of an internal combustion engine, and method for the non-cutting production of an arm from steel sheet
A rocker arm has two side walls and two webs which run transversely with respect to the side wall. The webs connect the side walls to one another on end-side sections, wherein a valve stem support is configured on one of the webs, and a spherical cap is configured on the other web. A cam roller is arranged in a roller pocket which is delimited by the webs and the side walls. The cam roller is mounted rotatably on a roller axle which is fixed in the side walls. Projections are arranged within the roller pocket such that they are spaced apart from the respective web to guide the cam roller. The projections extend from the side walls in the direction of the cam roller to form guide surfaces which interact with end surfaces of the cam roller.
Internal combustion engine
Intake and exhaust cam shafts are disposed a cylinder head in a vertical direction. The cylinder head comprises a first through hole and a second through hole. The first through hole penetrates an upper surface deck from a deck surface towards a lower surface of the cylinder head. The deck surface is a surface constituting an upper surface deck of the cylinder head. The second through hole opens to a side surface of the cylinder head in which cam pulleys of intake and exhaust cam shafts are provided. The second through hole penetrates the upper surface deck along an axial direction of the intake and exhaust cam shafts. The second through hole is positioned vertically below an opening in the deck surface of the first through hole.
ARTICULATED CHAIN WITH SLEEVE JOINTS ARRANGED AT AN ANGLE
An articulated chain with alternating inner chain links and outer chain links which are each connected to each other by means of a chain joint, wherein each outer chain link comprises at least two outer link plates and two chain studs connecting them to each other, each inner chain link comprises at least two inner link plates and two joint sleeves connecting them to each other, and for forming a chain joint, one chain stud each of the outer chain link extends through a joint sleeve of the inner chain link. The joint sleeves of the inner chain links are embodied as winding sleeves and firmly connected to the inner link plates, wherein the sleeve joints of the two winding sleeves are positioned on the same side of a link plate's longitudinal axis and face each other, and the sleeve joints are arranged at a distance to the link plate's longitudinal axis and at a distance to an upper apex or to a lower inflection point of the winding sleeve.
Rocker Arm Assembly
A rocker arm assembly including a rocker body having an upper wall arranged above a pivot axis, two ears extending from opposing sides of the upper wall and defining a pivot bore coaxial with the pivot axis, and a pad end wall and a socket end wall each extending from the upper wall and the ears. A pad having a convex pad surface is formed on the pad end wall for engaging a valve and a socket having a concave socket surface is formed on the socket end wall for engaging a pushrod. The rocker arm assembly further includes a trunnion body and a bearing, each disposed in the pivot bores and for facilitating pivoting movement between the rocker body and the trunnion body.
Electromagnetic switching valve
An electromagnetic switching valve includes: a sleeve; a spool; an electromagnetic actuator, including a plunger having a through passage and a stator exerting a magnetomotive force on the plunger; and a transmission member of a tubular shape, interposed between the plunger and the spool and transmitting a driving force. The stator includes an insertion hole through which the transmission member is inserted. The transmission member includes: a facing wall facing the through passage; a first internal passage formed closer to the plunger than the facing wall and communicating with the through passage; a first opening formed closer to the plunger than the insertion hole and opening the first internal passage in a radial direction; second internal passages formed closer to the spool than the facing wall; and second openings formed closer to the spool than the insertion hole and opening the second internal passages in the radial direction.
Internal combustion engine
An internal combustion engine includes exhaust-side and intake-side variable valve timing mechanisms, an oil passage defined in the cylinder head, an exhaust-side connection passage that branches from the oil passage to conduct oil to the exhaust-side variable valve timing mechanism, and an intake-side connection passage that branches from the oil passage to conduct oil to the intake-side variable valve timing mechanism. The connection passage that conducts oil to one of the exhaust-side variable valve timing mechanism and the intake-side variable valve timing mechanism that has a greater amount of oil leakage when oil having the same pressure is supplied to the variable valve timing mechanisms to operate the variable valve timing mechanisms is located at a downstream side in the oil passage of the connection passage that conducts oil to the variable valve timing mechanism that has a smaller amount of oil leakage.
Development of a switching roller finger follower for cylinder deactivation in internal combustion engines
A rocker arm includes an outer arm having a first side and a second side, an inner arm positioned between the first side and the second side of the outer arm, a pivot axle pivotally coupling the inner arm to the outer arm at a first end of the inner arm and a first end of the outer arm, and a latch pin having a first position and a second position. The latch pin in the first position pivotally fixes the inner arm to the outer arm at a second end of each of the inner arm and a second end of the outer arm, and in the second position allows the inner arm and the outer arm to pivot independently. Two lost motion springs are respectively secured to mounts provided on the outer arm.
