Liner for a respirator mask
A respirator mask liner is provided for positioning between a respirator mask and the face of a wearer. The mask liner includes a flexible sheet material having an outer perimeter edge portion and a hole that is spaced inwardly from the outer perimeter edge portion. At least one tab projects outwardly from portions of the perimeter edge portion, and may be unitarily formed with the sheet material. The mask liner is configured so that when it is to be placed between the face of the wearer and the respirator mask, the tab or tabs project outwardly beyond the gasket portion of the respirator mask, so that the tabs may be used for adjusting the liner or securing the liner to the mask. Optionally, the mask liner has a surface texture with a ribbed and undulating pattern of raised portions, and/or incorporates an anti-microbial substance.
Skin-contact product having moisture and microclimate control
Skin-contact products with a transpiration function such as medical devices or medicinal products, of which face masks, aspirators, ventilators, breast pumps or wound dressings are examples are described especially a skin-contact product with a transpiration function with an improved microclimate at a patient interface material-skin contact area. In an embodiment a material system is described that comprises a hydrophobic silicone base material and a hydrophilic silicone material that is combined with the hydrophobic base material.
Connector System For Releasably Connecting Fluid Conduits
Disclosed herein are embodiments of a connector system for releasably connecting together tubes, for example medical tubing, and methods of making and using such a connector system, whereby the connector system includes a female coupler having a first passageway, a male coupler having a second passageway, a catch movably coupled to the female coupler, and a catch-receiving element coupled to the male coupler. The connector system further includes a release element movably coupled to the female coupler, whereby travel of the release element along or over a female coupler outer surface of the female coupler disengages the catch from the catch-receiving element to achieve a disconnected condition of the connector system. Further disclosed herein are embodiments of a connector system for releasably connecting together tubes, whereby the connector system includes at least one valve biased by a valve-biasing member disposed external to or outside of the fluid flow path.
Disposable dental valve having a check valve
A disposable dental valve device has a valve body having a tip receiving end, a hose receiving end, a lumen formed between the tip receiving end and the hose receiving end, a first partial opening formed in the valve body and a second partial opening formed in the valve body, and a movable valve sealing device adapted to being inserted into one of the partial openings, the movable valve sealing device having an opening for alignment with the lumen formed between the tip receiving end and the hose receiving end, the movable valve sealing device having a check valve positioned in the opening, and the movable valve sealing device having a top for positioning the movable valve sealing device between a closed position and an opened position.
Advanced Airway System Nasopharyngeal Injector
An Advanced Airway System Nasopharyngeal Injector is used to reduce the size of a Nasopharyngeal tube significantly. The Nasopharyngeal tube is folded in half. The Advanced Airway System Nasopharyngeal Injector will slide down the middle of the tube, locking a portion of the Nasopharyngeal tube into the track groove (104). The Nasopharyngeal tube reduction in size allows the tube to pass through the nasal passageway, decreasing discomfort and preventing debris from entering the tube. Once the Nasopharyngeal tube is administered into the passageway, it unfolds to fill the nasal passage. The Advanced Airway System Nasopharyngeal Injector uses a one-size-fits-all nasopharyngeal tube made from various materials or additive manufacturing to reduce weight and give the Advanced Airway System Nasopharyngeal Injector flexibility and durability.
THERAPEUTIC DELIVERY DEVICE
A device for delivering one or more therapeutic agents to a mammal is provided. In at least one embodiment, the device includes (1) a port for receiving one or more therapeutic agents that is to be delivered to a mammal subcutaneously, the port having a stem; (2) a reservoir that is comprised of at least a compliant elastic material and a rate-controlling membrane that allows the one or more therapeutic agents to be delivered to the mammal at a controlled rate and the rate-controlling membrane and the compliant elastic material being attached to each other and the reservoir being capable of being inflated to contain one or more therapeutic agents and deflated, the reservoir being in fluid communication with the stem of the device.
OPHTHALMIC DRUG DELIVERY
The present invention includes and provides a method of delivering a medicament to an eye of a subject in need thereof a solution, the method comprising: (a) providing droplets containing the medicament with a specified average size and average initial ejecting velocity; and (b) delivering the medicament to the eye, where the droplets deliver a percentage of the ejected mass of the droplets to the eye.
Septum for Access Port
A medical device comprising an implantable subcutaneous access port having a septum penetrable by a needle; the septum having a cavity located between an outer wall and an inner wall, the cavity containing a flowable media comprising a plurality of displaceable particles arranged to move in response to the needle being inserted through the outer wall and into the cavity and reposition around the needle.
PERIPHERAL INTRAVENOUS CATHETERS HAVING FLOW DIVERTING FEATURES
PIVCs with extension sets can include one or more flow diverting features for maximizing the amount of flushing that occurs within the interior of the catheter adapter. These flow diverting features can therefore minimize the amount of residual blood, medicament, or other fluid that may exist within the catheter adapter after the PIVC has been flushed via the extension set. The flow diverting features may be in the form of structural modifications to the side port of the extension set, separate components that are contained within the side port or catheter adapter, integrated components within the side port or catheter adapter, other features or some combination of any of these features.
