CONTROLLER AND CONTROL METHOD FOR VEHICLE
A controller for a vehicle that includes an internal combustion includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry obtains a predicted temperature outside the vehicle and estimates the viscosity of a lubricating oil based on the oil pressure and the oil temperature of the lubricating oil when the internal combustion engine satisfies a specific operation condition. When the processing circuitry determines that there is a likelihood of a cranking failure occurring in the internal combustion engine on condition that the predicted temperature is less than a threshold value that is based on the viscosity, the processing circuitry outputs a notification signal indicating that that there is a likelihood of a cranking failure occurring in the internal combustion engine.
ENGINE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A VEHICLE
The present disclosure relates to an engine system (1) for a vehicle (100), comprising, an internal combustion engine (10), a lubrication system (20) arranged to lubricate the internal combustion engine (10) and a first lubrication pump (21) arranged to supply lubricant to the lubrication system (20). The first lubrication pump (21) is configured to be powered by an auxiliary power source (40), wherein the lubrication system (20) is further arranged to supply lubricant to at least one auxiliary component (30, 31) of the engine system (1) which requires to be lubricated when in use, and wherein the lubrication system (20) comprises at least one valve (23, 25) for selectively shutting off lubricant supply to the at least one auxiliary component (30, 31). The present disclosure also relates to a vehicle (100), to a method for controlling lubricant supply to an auxiliary component (30, 31) and to a control unit (70).
ENGINE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A VEHICLE
The present disclosure relates to an engine system (1) for a vehicle (100), comprising, an internal combustion engine (10), a lubrication system (20) arranged to lubricate the internal combustion engine (10) and a first lubrication pump (21) arranged to supply lubricant to the lubrication system (20). Oil system
A method (500) and apparatus (50, 60) for lubrication of a gearbox (30) of an aircraft engine comprise provision (502) of oil to the gearbox (30) through a primary oil system (50) driven by a core (11) of the engine (10) in normal conditions; detection (504) of windmilling conditions and/or failure of the primary oil system (50); and in response to the detected condition or failure, activation (506) of an electric pump (61) of an auxiliary oil system (60), to provide oil to the gearbox (30).
Oil system
A method (500) and apparatus (50, 60) for lubrication of a gearbox (30) of an aircraft engine comprise provision (502) of oil to the gearbox (30) through a primary oil system (50) driven by a core (11) of the engine (10) in normal conditions; detection (504) of windmilling conditions and/or failure of the primary oil system (50); and in response to the detected condition or failure, activation (506) of an electric pump (61) of an auxiliary oil system (60), to provide oil to the gearbox (30).
Gas turbine engine
A gas turbine engine includes a gearbox receiving input from a core shaft and driving a fan at a lower speed than the core shaft. First and second oil circuits fluidly couple with an inlet and outlet of the gearbox. A third oil circuit fluidly couples with an inlet and outlet of the gearbox. The outlet of the gearbox includes a device directing oil from the gearbox to the first oil circuit, to the second oil circuit and to the third oil circuit when feeding to the gearbox exceeds a predefined oil flow rate, or deviates an operational value corresponding with that oil flow rate, and directs oil from the gearbox to the third oil circuit when feeding to the gearbox is ≤ the predefined flow rate or is ≤ a corresponding operational value or is greater than or equal to a further corresponding operational value.
Vehicle cooling system
A vehicle cooling system comprises an oil circulation circuit in which a cooling oil is circulated by an electric oil pump to cool a predetermined cooling target with the cooling oil; an oil temperature sensor detecting an oil temperature that is a temperature of the cooling oil; and a control device including a cooling control portion outputting a rotation command for operating the electric oil pump so as to cool the cooling target. The control device includes a pump abnormality determination portion outputting the rotation command to the electric oil pump to determine a presence/absence of abnormality based on a rotation state of the electric oil pump when an operation stop time of the vehicle is longer than a predefined determination permission time and an oil temperature detection value detected by the oil temperature sensor is higher than a predefined determination permission temperature.
Vehicle cooling system
A vehicle cooling system comprises an oil circulation circuit in which a cooling oil is circulated by an electric oil pump to cool a predetermined cooling target with the cooling oil; an oil temperature sensor detecting an oil temperature that is a temperature of the cooling oil; and a control device including a cooling control portion outputting a rotation command for operating the electric oil pump so as to cool the cooling target. The control device includes a pump abnormality determination portion outputting the rotation command to the electric oil pump to determine a presence/absence of abnormality based on a rotation state of the electric oil pump when an operation stop time of the vehicle is longer than a predefined determination permission time and an oil temperature detection value detected by the oil temperature sensor is higher than a predefined determination permission temperature.
OIL QUALITY MONITORING
To monitor oil quality of an automotive vehicle, a sensor generates a signal indicative of a characteristic of the oil. A processor is configured to determine the oil quality from the signal. A communication component transmits an indication of whether the determined oil quality meets an unacceptability criterion to an external device.
