Catheters including an improved structure for effectively draining fluids from the urethra, that assist in reducing the likelihood of UTIs (Urinary Tract Infections) by flushing the urethra during catheterization.

Drug-delivery pump with intelligent control

Embodiments of the present invention utilize a closed-loop feedback control system to ensure accurate drug delivery. This control system may, for example, utilize a flow sensor to measure the volume of delivery and an intelligent control algorithm to anticipate and compensate for overdoses and underdoses. Feedback control systems in accordance herewith can be applied to any piston- or plunger-driven pump system utilizing sensors that measure flow directly or indirectly. In some embodiments, adjustments are made during a “priming” stage when liquid is pumped through the internal fluid path but does not exit the pump.

Spring clip needle guard

A spring clip needle tip shielding device for arrangement in a catheter hub of an intravenous catheter assembly is provided. The spring clip needle tip shielding device comprises a base plate with a hole extending therethrough and at least one resilient arm extending at an attachment point at said base plate. The at least one resilient arm has a resting state, from which it may be urged to yield free passage through said hole in an axial direction of said base plate in a tension state, said at least one resilient arm being adapted for clamping a needle tip of a needle extending through said hole when said resilient arm is in said resting state. Any straight imaginary line extending longitudinally through said hole in the axial direction of said base plate coincides with said at least one resilient arm when said resilient arm is in said resting state of said body. The spring clip needle tip shielding device is of a rigid material, and at least a part thereof is coated with a solid lubricant. A catheter assembly including such shielding device is also provided.

PAP SYSTEM BLOWER

A blower includes a housing including an inlet and an outlet, a bearing-housing structure provided to the housing and adapted to rotatably support a rotor, a motor provided to the bearing-housing structure and adapted to drive the rotor, and an impeller provided to the rotor. The bearing-housing structure includes a bearing shaft having a bearing surface that rotatably supports the rotor. The bearing shaft provides only a single bearing of the non-ball bearing type for the rotor.

Stopper for a Medical Injection Device

The present disclosure relates to a stopper configured to be positioned inside a barrel of an injection device for injecting at least one composition, said stopper including: a gasket including a proximal end, a distal end, a lateral wall, and a through hole extending from the proximal end to the distal end, an insert inserted in the through hole, wherein the stopper is adapted to deform between: a closed configuration wherein the gasket cooperates with the insert to hermetically close the through hole, for preventing flow of the composition between the proximal end and the distal end of the gasket, and an open configuration wherein the gasket cooperates with the insert to open a fluidic pathway in the through hole between the proximal end and the distal end of the gasket for allowing flow of the composition

BOTULINUM TOXIN PREFILLED CONTAINER
20170340823 · 2017-11-30 ·

The present invention relates to a prefilled glass container, such as a prefilled glass syringe, comprising an aqueous botulinum toxin formulation. The aqueous botulinum toxin formulation in the prefilled container is stable at low to ambient temperature for a prolonged time period. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a kit comprising the botulinum toxin prefilled container, and to the use of the botulinum toxin prefilled container in therapeutic and cosmetic applications.

Drive mechanism with noise reduction

A drive mechanism for a drug delivery device with a reduced operating loudness includes a dose selector, a housing, and a ratchet with a gear element comprising a plurality of gear teeth connected with the dose selector and a pawl element rotationally constrained to the housing comprising at least one pawl tooth. The at least one pawl tooth engages with the gear teeth and is located opposite to the gear teeth. One of the gear element and the pawl element moves forth and back relative to the other element of the gear and pawl elements along a first direction for de-engagement and re-engagement of the opposite gear teeth and at least one pawl tooth when the gear element rotates relative to the housing during dose setting using the dose selector. The pawl element and/or gear element comprises a noise reduction characteristic at a surface which dampens the noise produced.

Expandable introducer sheath

An expandable introducer sheath for use in inserting a medical device into a body vessel of a patient includes a body which extends from a proximal end to a distal end along an axis. The body includes an inner layer, an outer layer, and an expandable reinforcement member which is disposed between said inner and outer layers. The expandable reinforcement member is configured to radially expand as the medical device is axially advanced or retracted through said introducer sheath. Once the medical device has exited the introducer sheath, the expandable reinforcement member facilitates a return of the introducer sheath to its original or unexpanded condition.
