Shape memory element for straightening malleable device
A medical tool includes a handle, a tubular member, and a bendable shape memory element (SME). The tubular member is attached to and extends from the handle and is configured to be inserted into an orifice of a patient. The tubular member has a distal-end section that is configured to be bent so as to perform a medical procedure in the orifice. The bendable shape memory element (SME) is coupled to the distal-end section of the tubular member, wherein the SME is configured to straighten when heated into a pre-formed shape, thereby straightening the distal-end section.
CELL INJECTION PRINTING WITH A COAXIAL NEEDLE
Provided are an apparatus and method for injection of a fluid into a substrate. In some embodiments, an apparatus or method described herein delivers cells to a tissue scaffold, graft, or site of tissue injury to facilitate the repair of a tissue defect.
Endotracheal Tube and Endotracheal Sleeve and Methods of Introducing Endotracheal Tube to a Patient
An endotracheal safety device comprising an endotracheal tube having a proximal end and a distal end, the endotracheal tube defining a lumen between the proximal end and the distal end, an endotracheal sleeve assembly having a proximal end and a distal end, the endotracheal sleeve assembly defining a lumen between the proximal end and the distal end, the endotracheal sleeve assembly configured to be movable over the endotracheal tube, and an adapter having a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end of the adapter configured to be received by the proximal end of the endotracheal sleeve assembly.
EXPANDABLE SHEATH FOR A TRANSCATHETER HEART VALVE
The present disclosure relates to a sheath that is usable with a medical device, particularly to a sheath that is useable with a medical device and which sheath is expandable in the regions that the medical device is positioned in the sheath, and more particularly to a sheath that is useable with a medical device and which sheath is expandable in the regions that the medical device is positioned in the sheath and which sheath reforms to its same or similar size and shape after the medical device has passed through a portion of all of the sheath. The sheath is used to protect the body passageway of a patient as a medical device is inserted into and/or through the body passageway and to a treatment site.
Drug-elution control sleeve for drug-eluting balloon and method
An apparatus, assembly and method for controlling release of a drug from a drug-eluting balloon during delivery of a drug-eluting balloon to a situs within a body. More particularly, the present invention relates to a diametrically expandable sleeve having a first non-diametrically unexpanded state in which drug retained on or in a drug-eluting balloon is protected from release by a sleeve and a second diametrically expanded state in which drug retained on or in the drug-eluting balloon is exposed for focal release in the body by diametric expansion of the sleeve, exposing openings in the sleeve during diametric expansion and closing the openings in the sleeve when the sleeve is in its diametrically unexpanded state.
APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FLUID DELIVERY
A fill adapter system for an infusion pump assembly. The system includes a reusable fill adapter base, the base including a volume control mechanism to adjust an available fill volume of a reservoir of the infusion pump assembly and a pump mechanism configured to pump air into a fluid vial. The system also includes a vial adapter assembly including a first needle configured to penetrate a septum of the fluid vial for fluidly coupling the pump mechanism to the fluid vial and a second needle having a first end configured to penetrate the septum of the fluid vial and a second end configured to penetrate a septum of the reservoir of the infusion pump assembly to allow transfer of fluid from the fluid vial to the reservoir of the infusion pump assembly in response to air being pumped into the fluid vial and a needle carriage adapted to carry the first needle and the second needle, wherein the needle carriage slidably attached to the interior of the vial adapter assembly, wherein the needle carriage adapted to slide from a vial end of the vial adapter to a receptacle end of the vial adapter.
Atraumatic micropuncture guidewire and guidewire extension
A guidewire introducible into a bodily lumen having an obstruction therein is provided. An introducer needle is advanced through tissue and into the bodily lumen. A guidewire is advanced through the introducer and into the lumen. The guidewire is advanced further through the lumen until an atraumatic distal tip of the guidewire encounters an obstruction the distal tip cannot pass in a straight forward manner. The distal tip is pressed against the obstruction such that a flexible segment proximal of the distal tip forms a loop distal of the distal tip. The guidewire is advanced further through the lumen such that the loop of the flexible segment is pushed past the obstruction and the distal tip is pulled distally past the obstruction. A greater diameter guidewire extension can be coupled to the back end of the guidewire, providing function as a larger diameter guidewire.
Adjustable guidewire
Guidewires useful for cooperating with catheters may be actively steered and/or provide adjustable stiffness. Angle or curvature of a guidewire, and/or flexural modulus of a guidewire, may be adjusted at one or more locations between ends thereof. Variable stiffness segments may include electrically operated compressible and/or extensible materials. Multiple tensile elements may terminate at different body elements to adjust angle or curvature at multiple locations. Multiple circumferentially and/or radially contractible fiber regions may be provided and distributed over a length of a guidewire. Adjustable flexure elements arranged in or along a guidewire may be electrically operated. A flexible core member may be centrally arranged in a tubular body. A flexible guide wire or track may cooperate with electrically operable motor units.
Apparatus, system and method for fluid delivery
